"I own 7 Airsoft sniper rifles (some call it a hobby; some call it an obsession) and the ASR is one of them.

First let me say, this is a great Airsoft sniper rifle for the money. It's not a $400 custom-built Airsoft sniper rifle, but then if you had that kind of money why would you be looking here right? Out of the box the ASR is light weight, easy pull, reliable feed, consistently accurate and not another VSR (the M4 of the airsoft sniper world). The mags hold about 25 rounds, and they are easy to get out of the mag well even with gloves on (a major advantage over the VSR 10 style mags).

There are a fair number of upgrade parts available, and I got the spring and piston upgrade kit which has raised the FPS to 485 with .20's. I think a good tight bore with flat hop would give you a few more FPS and a good chunk more distance.

One of the great things about the ASR is the 100's of YouTube videos available for it including some made by Echo 1 themselves. Anything and everything you want to learn about this bad boy is there on YouTube waiting for you.

No, make no mistake, this is a great Airsoft sniper rifle in its category, and if you're just getting into sniping, a great place to start.

"I have had this gun for a couple years and its okay. The buffer tube is wobbly, and the internals are nothing to be proud of. I mainly use an MK18 AEG, but when I do use this, I run .30g BBs, and I will say, they shoot pretty darn straight. The FPS is lower than advertised. (i was getting low 400s with .20g BBS). Overall, If you are a new player, do not get a sniper. At all. Get an M4 or AK AEG. You will learn how to play, and then adjust your play style/loadout after that. I really cant recommend this, because its just eeh.


I give it an ehh/10.
