Far from your traditional M4, the APS "Gold Dragon" Custom is an interesting take on the competition style rifle. The CNC machined upper and lower receiver give the rifle a unique skeletonized look while cutting down on overall weight. The anodized color scheme is bold and eye catching which lends well to the aesthetics of the design. The all new APS Silver Edge Gearbox utilizes a unique polishing technique to remove burrs and surface imperfections from the gearbox shell. This polishing leads to an incredibly smooth and even finish that will reduce friction and lower the gearbox load. These improvements lead to a more efficient gearbox that will use less power, generate less wear, and allow for the smoothest cycle possible for enhanced performance as well as greatly extending the life of your gearbox.

"Had this gun about 4 months now, and absolutely love it.
First off, I will say that finding a battery was a little harder than I thought. Because it's wired to the rear yet is still a fixed stock, that tube is VERY small. I can only fit slim type LiPo and double butterfly type LiPo batteries. No NiMh luck at all.
Second off, the blowback is loud. Both a pro and con in my opinion. When you send the bolt forward after adjusting the hop up, if you lock the bolt anyway, it'll make your ears ring. I love it.
On to performance. I really couldn't have asked for more. The gun fires flawlessly, no hiccups or jams and I went through a full load of 4 hi caps and 2 mid caps in a game with it. About 1500 rounds in a little under an hour. The accuracy was phenomenal, a nice head sized cluster at about 75 ft. out, and the trigger response is great as well. Very fast, but the blowback system is all that keeps from extreme fire rate. Not really a speedsoft style gun, definitely more of an accurate shot centered weapon.
Looks wise, it comes as is. Flawless anodized finish, an awesome look with the skelotonized receiver, and combined with keymod it completes the look of the gun awesomely, plus it makes it extremely light.
The canted sights are okay, not entirely practical after about 50 feet as the hop up will throw your shots off, but they're a nice look and aren't too cheap. They do require a very small alan key to tighten. That, or needlenose plyers.
Overall the gun is very well made. Sturdy, accurate, reliable, and amazing looking. For 400$, it's up to you to decide if it's worth it, but personally I say the gun is worth it. APS really did well with this one.
