"Solid, solid, pistol.
Really can’t complain about the build quality.
Straight from KJ works, everything works well. KP-01 is the model they send you.
I am having some trouble with the gas mag, not sure if it’s leaking or if I have bad gas.
When field stripping, the spring is hard to take out and put back in, and tends to move out of its “groove”.
Other than that, I’m super happy with the gun.
"The SIG 226 is hands down my favorite sidearm; when I saw Evike carrying this, I jumped on it! Mags are cheap, it's KJW, so internals are 100% TM compatible, the externals are top notch, recoil's GREAT, mags hold 25 rounds, and this thing looks GREAT! I bought it on sale for $90, but even at $135, this thing is worth every penny; it's far superior to WE's offering, as well as KWA's (I went through 2 KWA M226's due to the same problem, and later found out that many others were having identical problems) - plus, the mags are $12 less than KWA's mags -AND- it's licensed.
I do have one complaint though: I only carry .28g and .32g bb's because I play outdoors 90% of the time - this beautiful piece cannot - repeat: CAN NOT hop a .28g to save it's life. I swapped to .25g bb's, and it works wonderfully now. However, I'd say that your max effective range would be 25-30 yards - tops.
But I carry it to be my sidearm, so no complaints there. I've had it for 2 weeks now, and no problems so far. The orange tip was easy to remove, and to my surprise: the internal portion of the barrel is threaded. I have no clue what the threads or direction is though. Try this outer barrel by WE tech:
or this thread adapter by EMG:
Of course, I have not tried either, and therefore, none of these options are guaranteed.
All in all: buy it! I am giving this 4 stars due to the suckish hop up unit, and the lack of knowledge on the internal thread directions; this sort of thing should be included in the manual or on Evike's site.
"I give the gun 3/5 stars because when you hold it, it kind of rattles. Not that much, but it's there.
However, the slide is snappy, so that's a bonus.
When I disassembled it, I found that KJW had put a small, tight spring on the guide rod before the long recoil spring, making the spring a little bit too strong. This affected the slide's ability to lock back when the mag is empty. Taking out the small spring helps this issue.
For me, this full metal, solid shooting airsoft gun chews through gas.
Overall, this is a decent gun for beginners, and, when compared to the real one, is very realistic.
