Matrix 14mm Negative Amplifying Flash Hider

"Sufficient for the price. This mock flash hider will fit on most 14mm threads, IS fully metal, and as by the price, is a fair enough price. However, a few caveats:

Pros:
-Fully metal
-Fits most 14mm threads
-Looks slightly more unique than standard suppressors/flash hiders
-Grip pattern on the side aids with loosening/tightening

Neutral:
-As noted in another review, the smooth side is the threaded end
-Only for 14mm negative threads (found on most airsoft rifles, with few exceptions)
-Not good with AEGs. The actual "amplifying" functions of this product are not noticeable on AEGs, although I have had slightly more success with a CO2 powered gun (the TAC-6, uses 1 12g CO2 cartridge). Rifles with more CO2 volume/pressure and HPA will probably make better use of this as an amplifier.

Cons:
-Is somewhat heavy: do not use if going for a lightweight loadout or don't want the balance of the rifle sitting farther forwards.
-Screw depth: The threads are 1/2-2/3 of an inch inside the flash hider, meaning when screwed on it will cover a large portion of the barrel's front. This also determines where the end of your inner barrel sits, affecting amplification. Usually not a problem unless it...
-Doesn't fit all barrels. I have tested this on several barrels and threads from a variety of guns (mostly M4 and SCAR platforms) and while on some barrels they fit, on others they do not screw down all the way due to the gas block getting in the way, the outer barrel's diameter being too large, or fitting too loose due to lightly stripped threads. Usually the threads issue is fixable with electric tape, but the depth at which the threads sit in this piece, I do not savor digging pieces of tape out of the interior of this device.

TL;DR
Overall, good for the price, just be ready to shave down or chop this piece if it does not fit, and ideally use it with Gas/CO2/HPA platforms.

"In the pictures shown you can't tell which side the threads are on. The side that is smooth goes toward the gun, not like the image next to the bird cage style. The double circle side, with the ribs goes away from the gun. On my ump the threads on this amplifier are too recessed into it and therefore it won't thread at all (won't reach). It will work with my m4 but that's not what I bought it for, and that only works because it has a thinner barrel setup than the ump.
