"I got this gun just to completely rebuild but I wanted to play a few games with it before I messed with it.
Out of box it has fairly good range but it's accuracy could be better but this can be expected with a smooth bore barrel. The construction of the externals is great! Full metal receiver, outer barrel, rails, and buffer tube.
Overall, it's a great dmr platform but like most guns there are alot of upgrades needed.
"This was my first airsoft gun purchase and I am so proud to own this gun. Iíve already gotten tons of compliments on the field about it. Iím going to upgrade it but man is it a great out of the box beginner gun. Itís a lot more accurate than all of my friends AEGs and if you keep it on semi auto I only used around 3/4th of a battery for all day on the field.
Very strong construction I tripped like an idiot and the guns bounced of a bunch of rocks (so did I) and it was perfectly ok it had this tiny little scratch thatís it.
Pretty dang accurate (6 inch grouping from 110ft with a lot of wind)
Heavy, it feels really realistic
Makes a very satisfying metal clack when it shoots (scares ppl and itís funny)
Amazing gun for the price
Not to my standards as a DMR but I bought it to upgrade so oh well
Stock a lil loose but I basically threw it on some rocks and itís not any looser
Magazine too long to lay down but thatís not really a con just get a different mag
If you are thinking to yourself I want a cheaper gun thatís well built, looks amazing, shoots pretty good out of the box to upgrade. Look no further I love this gun.
"I got this ASR110 to strip and build into a DMR. As soon as I got it, I shot some .25g BBs through it and it shot 350-360 FPS consistently. Out of the box, the rail and buffer tube were loose. They had little play but I was able to tighten them up using the original hardware and there is no more wobble. The stock however is very loose on the buffer tube and there isn't much that can be done other than getting a stock with better fitment.
The list below will be geared more toward cons since I got this rifle solely to tear down and build up. But it's a great starter DMR out of the box with decent performance.
-Decent compression out of the box
-Ball bearing spring guide
-O-ring inside air nozzle
-Ported piston head
-Often does not fully complete cycle (MOSFET will take of this)
-Proprietary rail (however comes with 3 adapters to picatinny)
-The charging handle would sometimes come completely out of the rifle. You can bend the front edge of the "bolt" upward a bit where the changing handle grabs it to prevent the issue.
-Thin wiring. It's not bad quality, just a bit thin.
-Motor is APS' EV Edge Motor....nothing fancy. Seems kind of cheap
-Orange flash hider is reverse threaded and epoxied. Took some force to get it off with a set of clamping pliers
-ROF was around 10 RPS
-Poly piston/head. No reinforced teeth
-I don't think this is the "Silver Edge" gearbox APS sells. Looks identical but for some reason I don't think it's a "Silver Edge"
-Gap between the upper and lower receivers. You can see the silver face of the gearbox if you look at it in an EXACT angle. You can easily paint the gearbox face that is "exposed" to hide it. Honestly not a huge con for me but my friend hates it so I thought I would mention it here.
3 picatinny rail adapters
Barrel cleaning thing for clearing stuck BBs
High cap mag
Recommendation depends on what you what in a rifle. This is a good starter rifle with decent build quality. However for the price, if you want a well performing rifle out of the box, I'd look elsewhere. This is a great platform to upgrade but in it's stock form, there are better options out there.
