(Write a review) "I bought this piece along with a WE Tech M9 magazine with the intention of making a custom magazine.
Looks unique and has a smooth yet matte black finish.
You have to attach a base plate to the extension, meaning you can stack extensions or put a B.Burton extension on it. (Adding the B.Burton extension or stacking nine ball extensions would only increase Gas Capacity as the spring would stop in the first base.)
First up, the pins. It came with a second O-ring and a set of long silver pins. The silver pins take away from the all black appearance but only slightly, those silver pins are required because of the width of the extension's base. The issue is that these pins are way too thick. I had to use steel files on both the WE pins and the Silver pins just to get them to line up. Then a rubber mallet and a set of vice-locks to press them in. I have worked on a dozen magazines from WE and never had to use anything but a tiny Allen to press them out. That by far my biggest issue with this.
The standard 26 rd spring that comes with the WE magazine is too short, so even though the BB capacity is indeed increased you can not shoot all the remaining BBs and the slide will not lock back. What I did to fix this temporarily was folding up a small piece of heavy-duty paper and sticking it in where the spring seats down. The proper way to fix this would likely be trimming a 52 rd Mag spring down and using that.
There is a "door" shall we say that covers the front of the extension, the door in the pictures is removable and appears to be replaceable. That is not the case. When I inserted the magazine (with this extension attached) into my M9 that tiny door popped off. It appears to have only been held on by glue of some sort. The magazine still works fine, just doesn't look as good.
Returning to the base plate again, seeing as it does not come with one you have to use one from an existing mag, that means the color/texture likely will not match. Adding a B.Burton extension on it matched very well but the standard black WE base plate is gloss black and does look off from the rest of the matte black finish.
I honestly do not know how many stars to give this seeing as I am currently the only review. Do I want to give it 5? Short answer is yes. The pins for me though barely deserve 3 or less. Cut it down the middle and give it 4? I may, but seriously the pins were a deal breaker. Perhaps a Tokyo Marui magazine has slightly smaller pins but.. I did get it together.. eventually. Now I just hope it never leaks because I may never get it apart again. Write a Review
