" I have not been able to play a game with it yet as I am sick but as soon as I can I will update the review.
After receiving this gun I must say the build quality is extremally nice. Removing the orange tip was a bit of a pain but some channel locks and LOTS of heat to loosen the glue made it a lot easier. The fire selector does have a little slop in it but with it being an ambi selector that uses gears its kind of to be expected. I have taken this gun pretty much completely apart to look at the build and fit quality. The only part I have not opened is the gearbox as there is really no need to. The mock gas tube on the gun I do wish connected to the barrel better instead of just the front. If you bump the hang guard it sounds like a door stop :D. The two screws holding the barrel to the main part of the upper were a little loose and made the barrel wobble a little. Not a massive deal but a little thread lock on them from the factory would keep them from backing out in shipping in cold weather. The M-LOK rail was on nice and tight and the finish is about what you would expect from most M-LOK systems. The backup sights seem pretty cheap and honestly I would just leave them off. They feel very toy like and take away from the quality of the rest of the gun. The straight trigger is a nice feeling trigger and the QRS crane stock is really well built. The documentation the gun came with is nice for anyone that has no idea how to operate an AEG. The only thing I wish it had was a walk through on changing the "Quick" change spring. This is not a true full quick change spring system. You still need to remove the gearbox from the lower to get to it. You just do not need to crack open the box. As far as battery go I am able to fit https://www.evike.com/products/87465/ in the stock with 0 issues. I do not put it down the buffer tube it just sits in the back where the butt plate closes. The inner barrel and hop up came with a good amount of silicone oil and should be fine on the first game. The mock bolt catch for the hopup adjustment is nice but the bolt release at least on mine takes a little more force to release the bolt then I like. It works fine just I would like less resistance is all.
Ok so thats all the good now time for really the only bad I have found so far.
The QRS mag it came with. This is by far the WORST mag I have ever felt. The mag feels like it was put together by a 5 year old in a dark room and is kind of a pain to feed into the mag well. I have some generic mags that I bought 10+ years ago for my CA M4 that work and feel 1000x better. Needless to say this QRS mag will go with the pile of junk mags to never be used.
" “It’s true; all of it.”
First off, I’m very impressed. This has been hyped as a, “Krytac killer”, and out of the box, I have to say that it has a faster trigger response and rate of fire than my Krytac.
Accuracy was great. Range was pretty good-about 200’ is very doable.
I was surprised that the wiring was as thin as it was. I have to say I was a bit disappointed there. It is wired for Tamiya. The stock holds my 9.6V round nunchucks, but just barely. I did have a malfunction which, apparently, VFC is aware of, since they said if it stops firing, just switch to full auto and then back, which cleared it. It’s disappointing that the manufacturer is aware of this defect, *yet still sells it*. Come on, VFC-get this defect fixed!
I’d give it 4 1/2 stars if I could. The electrical system just is not as good as it could be. If I upgrade this, it will likely be just re-wiring the entire electrical system.
Overall, there really isn’t anything that *needs* upgrading, unless you are running Deans connectors. (But, even then, the wiring is so thin that I don’t think you’re going to gain anything in performance). So basically, if you like the look of the rifle, buy it. It will perform as well as it’s advertised.
" I purchased this a few months back and had my first chance to field it this weekend. Shot consistently at 1st day chrono at 399, 398, 400, 399. After a LONG day of games and about 5000 rds.. getting the spring broke in it chrono'd at 393, 394,392,393 on day 2. Rof with an 11.1v will make a guy happy for it not being upgraded. Trigger response for those of you (myself included) that like to shoot semi alot, is pretty prime especially for being stock. The only issue I found so far after about 10 actual in game hours of using it is the Elite Force midcaps I have were a little finicky. I had to slide them into the mag well partially and then give them a good slap into place. Not everyone's ideal thing I know but they fed just fine.
SIMPLE BREAKDOWN for those that don't wanna read the top.
Pros-
Rof for stock is better than expected with an 11.1v
Comfortable, the motor grip isn't bulky and awkward
The trigger rest, not gonna lie thought it was meh, after holding it in staging I found my finger was always on it. (I guess I did learn trigger discipline at a very young age but anyways.)
The stock is comfy on the shoulder
Good range and accuracy. Was using .25s but probably should bump to .28s
CONSISTENT fps ranging within 3 fps of each other
Now for the cons
Side tubes on the stock don't fit my titan 11.1v nunchuck but 1 can slide down the buffer tube and the lil guy can sit just beneath the butt plate going vertical so not a terrible con
Not all mags work with it. The QRS that came with it obviously does, EF mags can be tricky but still feed. Hear BAMF mags work just fine but haven't tested them yet.
And that's about it. I'm loving it.
