(Write a review) "Pretty impressed with this gun.
Been playing Airsoft for a long time back when Star was still making M249s.
The gun feels fantastic in the hands, the nylon polymer body is quite nice to the touch. The gun out of the box doesn't shoot worth a flying fart. Ares hop up rubbers are just pure garbage and it was easily torn from just trying to remove it. The hop unit works perfectly fine and to my surprise is just a regular v2 rotary hop up unit. The hop unit has a U shaped nub so it works wonders with a Mr hop or macaron maple leaf bucking. The gearbox itself is built like a tank and is pretty dead simple to remove. The Allen wrench is stored inside the rear compartment which is used to remove the handguard where the battery is stored. The only real complaint I have with the gun is that the pin holding the rear pad on doesn't have a detent holding it in place so It could easily fall out. Also, the threading for the flash hider is 14mm positive so keep that in mind. After installing just a Mr hop bucking the gun was pretty dang accurate and could easily reached out to about 200ft with some .28 bbs. The gun isn't super picky with mags either so that is another HUGE plus. Every single mag I own was able to feed in this gun which is just insane considering I have 7 different brands of m4 mags.
*I would HIGHLY recommend this gun to someone that wants something that takes M4 mags but isn't an M4.This gun is pretty great for the price on sale for 279. I gotta say ARES did a pretty good job with this one minus the dog water hop up rubber.
*Also a Titan Power 7.4v 3000mah brick type battery wired to mini tamiya fits this gun perfectly. "Love this gun, had a small hiccup though! The user manual I got had the battery storage in the rear of the gun, and from experience with other bullpups I assumed this to be correct. After much back and forth with Evike customer care sending pictures, etc Ed from customer care was able to find that the battery was located in the handguard.
Ed is the real hero here, good work Ed! "It seems like a lot of reviews on here are for a different model of Tavor. I owned an Ares Tavor before and there are features on this one that solve a lot of the problems that gen 1 Tavors had:
the mag release switch has a much stiffer spring on it plus the magwell is very tight, so now your mag won't wobble or accidentally drop out of your gun when your hand budges the mag release lever.
It's also a huge bonus that this model comes with a monolithic upper rail, freeing up your choice of sights to use with this rifle.
Another handy feature is that it comes with 4 qd sling points: one on each side in the front and the back. Other Tavors force you to run Paracord through a hole in the buttstock.
Some people might not like this feature, but the battery compartment is in the handguard and requires an Allen key/hex wrench to open. The compartment isn't very big, as I can just fit a 7.4v brick in there. It seems like you might be able to cut away some plastic to make more space but don't quote me on that.
The coveted quick-change spring feature is still present and accessed in the same way as before, in the buttstock. There is also a convenient tube back there to stow an Allen key for the handguard!
Last but not least is the FCU. Semi-auto with the old Tavor was unreliable with a mushy trigger and slow trigger response. With the FCU, you can feel a click where the trigger hits contacts and a full cycle of the gearbox is initiated, making for a more confident and smooth-shooting semi-auto experience. The trigger pull is still a little bit heavy and the reset is a little long and it's not as crisp as a gbb pistol but I don't know about a stock gun at this price level to have a trigger THAT nice, let alone a bullpup rifle.
Accuracy is what you'd expect from a Tavor, so no complaints there.
In my opinion, as a stock rifle, this is the best version of the Tavor being sold today. If you want one, go for this one. It will serve you well on the battlefield, as it has for me Read More Reviews Write a Review
