Armee-Universal-Gewehr (Universal Army Rifle) or AUG is a futuristic assault rifle developed during the 1960s in Austria to replace the aging 7.62mm FAL automatic rifles in service at the time. Often considered as the first successful bullpup rifle, the AUG was indeed well ahead of its time as far as concept and design; it was highly advanced when it first went into service in the late 1970s. Its bullpup design which moves the core of the rifles action behind the trigger allows for the use of a full length rifle barrel in a weapon with the ergonomics of a sub-machine gun. Some other significant features include fully ambidextrous controls and reversible charging handle and shell ejection port allowing the rifle to be configured for both left and right handed shooters. The unique two stage trigger allows the user to fire in semi-auto and full-auto without needing to manipulate a selector switch; for semi-automatic fire, the operator will just pull the trigger half way and if fully-automatic fire was necessary, the operator needs to only pull the trigger all the way back. Chambered in the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge for its ease of use and handling, the futuristic family of rifles in the AUG line can be quickly adapted to accommodate a wide variety of roles in the ever changing battlefield with just a quick swap of the barrel. The AUG is definitely a well-rounded combat weapon with a proven track record that can stand its own even with todays modern combat rifles.

"So far this Aug is the best I’ve used. It has minor spread and have pretty good range. It does have some feeding issues but the fire rate seems to make up for it.
"I have played one game for about 3 or 4 hours with this gun and here are what I think some pros and cons are so far.
-Well built(aside from the barrel being a tad wobbly)
-The stock internals of the gun are great.
-MOSFET, which definitely helps the internals, especially if you are going to run a lipo.
-It's an AUG :P
-Barrel is slightly wobbly on the gun.
-ROF with an 8.4V NIMH is not the greatest.
-Battery compartment is VERY small, and is made even smaller by the MOSFET. I tried to fit a G&P 1600mah 9.6v NIMH with the dimensions of 120mm x ~35mm x ~18mm and it does not fit as it is too long for the compartment. The 11.1, 1600mah lipo from the package deal for this gun is said to fit with the dimensions of 102mm x 35mm x 16.5mm. I have ordered the Matrix 11.1V 1800mah 25C High Performance Li-Poly Battery and it has dimensions of 103mm x 35mm x 17.5mm. I'm hoping that this battery will fix as it is only slightly larger than the package one, but we shall see. I'll try to post an update once I have it in. I also, was able to fix an ASG, 8.4v 1400mah standard small type battery in the gun successfully. However, the ROF is not the best with an 8.4v battery on this gun.(*This battery gives the AUG that it is currently in a very fast fire rate for comparison) This battery has dimensions of 104mm x 30mm x 12.7mm.
Overall, I love AUGs and this gun is definitely worth the money if you want a solid, powerful, accurate gun out of the box for a reasonable price. Just be cautious with choosing your battery. The compartment dimension on the gun, roughly are 111mm x 35.5mm x 25mm. I honestly DO NOT think a battery bigger than 110mm x 35mm x 20mm would fit at all. Also, the compartment gets kind of small width wise at the bottom so I measure the width of that point. After some measuring, i think that those would be the absolute maximum dimensions for a battery in this gun and like I said, i'll try to post an update on my battery situation once I receive my Lipo and hopefully help some of you out!
"This gun feels very solid for a completely plastic design AEG. Most everything fits together very well and my only real complaint is the trigger feels a little "mushy". It works perfectly fine but it just doesnt have that really nice feel to the trigger pull like some of the better, more expensive guns out there. For $200 it is a great airsoft rifle though. Out of the box with no adjustment it was shotting about 300fps with .2's. Good for me since I got it as an indoor gun with a field limit of 350fps. So this will let me put a nice tightbore inner barrel on and stay within the fps limits of the field.
