E&L Airsoft AKM A101 Gen. 2 Full Metal AEG Rifle w/ Real Wood Furniture

"I wanted to write another review of this gun because I have had it for awhile now, used it a lot, and I think the last review I wrote was a little lacking, and some of the things I said were not exactly correct. Like me saying "it shoots like my Scar-H" which it doesn't. Comparing a woodland gun to a cqb gun was not helpful. I'll be able to explain better how it's shooting performance is.

Now I've had mine for over a year and a half now, and mine is the gen 1 version. The one listed here now is said to be the second generation. I'd assume that they are not much different externally, but out of the box performance could be different. I'm not sure though, as I have the slightly older version. Mine is still performing like it did out of the box, and not to mention the thing is a dang tank like the real thing. I once dropped it down a ravine during a game. It came out the other end looking no different. No damage to speak of, no loss in performance. It really doesn't surprise me that people say this thing was made in a place where real AKs are made, it really has that solid and durable external build quality that exactly matches the real thing. I even once used the stock to hammer a flag into the ground during a game.

Overall, after nearly two years of use, other than a few tiny scratches on the wood, the thing has held up fine. The only part that has come out was the screw for the selector. Not the gun's fault however, as I let someone else use it, and they started fiddling with the screw and managed to lose it somehow. Thankfully, a compatible spare was not hard to find, and it works and looks the same as ever.

Now the performance is what makes this gun shine even more. Mine is still stock, and is still far above average in performance for a stock gun. Mine currently chronic between 390 and 400 fps consistently. The trigger response is noticeably instantaneous on an 8.4 volt, I can usually get 6-7 shots off in a second on semi auto. The hop up is very good, and the rate of fire is very fast on full auto as expected. The accuracy on this gun is nearly laser like out to 200 feet using .28 gram bbs, but further they start to drop out quickly, and around 250 feet is about the maximum distance for this gun on full auto, which is very good, and the very reason mine is still stock. I don't see any need to upgrade this gun at all. The iron sights on the gun are aligned very well, and the bbs seem to always stay in line with the front post.

The battery space is all to complain about on this gun. I've only been able to fit an Intelect 8.4, nothing more, and it still is very good with that battery. I'm sure there is some lipos that would work, and in fact I've seen people use these guns with lipos, but all of the lipo batteries I've tried will not fit with top cover on.

Overall, couldn't have been more pleased. Still one of my favorite Airsoft guns I own. It is far more than just a great gun. It gives you more than you pay for. I recommend it to any one wanting a good woodland gun or a very realistic looking AK. The durability is simply unparalleled.

"So I have not fired a shot but I have with a real AK. This sucker looks so realistic and has that AK feel so legit. I remembered when i first held a real one it was so damn heavy compared to a m4 but when you hold it up to your shoulder its like its an extension of you with such great balance.
I actually like this gun so much i'm leaving it completely stock, I'll go haywire on the ak74mn though ;) !!!!!!

Buy one so we can compare and contrast, i'm dying to see more videos on these amazing machines.

"I received this rifle a week ago, and from the second I first pulled off the box cover, all I can say is wow. It really looks like I just straight up got a real AKM. This is one of if not THE BEST AK replica on the airsoft market. It is really just a real AK slightly morphed to take a gearbox, battery, and inner barrel. Wow, it even came with a real ak cleaning kit that fits in the stock. Next to my real AK I own, I don't see a single difference other than the flash hider if anything.

Pros:

Full Steel, Real wood, 100% authentic looking, no plastic, no joke. It's even colored and finished like the real thing

Zero wobble. Not even the mag wobbles a millimeter, which is a problem on almost all other airsoft AKs.

Charging handle comes back all the way

Selector is firmly in place, again, another issue most AKs have that this doesn't

Performs like a charm. Shoots just as good as my VFC Scar H and the ROF is on the very high side.

Cons:

The metal flash hider included does not have an adequately sized pinhole to allow it to come through. It stays, but it is still unnerving knowing it isn't 100% secure. Other flash hiders fit perfectly, but it isn't the blued gunmetal color of the rifle like the one included.

Battery space is very limited, VERY limited. Only an 8.4 and a minority of lipos will fit the gun, and it's a bugger to get in.

Overall, an amazing rifle built to be one of of the best, and it truly is. Matches or exceeds a Real Sword or LCT. And plus, it can take a hell of a beating and work just like the real rifle.
