"Good accuracy, great range out of the box, and good quality for the price. When my other guns have problems this gun has always been my ol reliable, it never fails me

"Mechanical engineering background backed review.

I ordered this off of Amazon but it was sold directly from evike.com as I make sure that every gun I purchase goes through then because of their amazing customer service.

Now let's begin, immediately pulling this out of the box this is the heaviest airsoft gun I've ever help I've been playing Airsoft for nearly 20 years. The quality was amazing I currently have a Famas Evo in a regular cybergun version as well on top of that I have an ASG Steyr aug.
The metal Barrel makes this is a really unbalanced rifle as its it's a very nose heavy weapon the stock itself is very good but it's still Flex a little bit in the magazine tend to have a little bit of play. I began my test by fitting a evike.com branded scope 4 x 32 illuminated reticle. The chronograph test had my 20 G BB's in the mid 400s between 403 to 426 was the highest the 25 G's we're averaging as low as 350 when the battery was dying but averaged out 375 to 390. Next for the rate of fire rate of fire is not as good as my Famas Evo and dare I say it the ASG plastic barrels Steyr aug. The accuracy test proved to be something short of a miracle I've never in my life with an airsoft rifle shot a actual quarter from more than 60 feet away not much drop it all into BB maybe about an inch or two with the twenties and 25 my yard only allows for that much space but I can honestly say based off the trajectory that I was looking at with barely any wind at all the disc gun can effectively shoot somebody a hundred feet away in a very precise spot another thing I need to point out is the Picatinny rails I don't know if APS teamed up with Xzibit from Pimp My Ride because there's literally a rail on top of a rail on top of another rail in between a rail with another rail on top with that being said if you have a laser sight you're going to want to put it on the side that you are holding that gun in the flashlight should go on the front rails on the opposite side this is going to help reduce any glare from that flashlight in your eye also having to pressure switches really makes it easy for certain kills at night that you're trying to get overall this is the best gun I've ever shot I'm extremely pleased and it was recommended this gun by a friend of mine who purchased his from a Boneyard deal whether you are an experienced Airsoft player as myself or noob the aps Steyr aug is definitely the rifle for you I will be released in YouTube videos in the coming weeks as this is going to be a prop for a metal gear solid film that I'm helping with for more information on the film go on YouTube and Facebook and simply type in Metal Gear Genesis

"Had it for years. But ran into a problem with the trigger mechanism broke and fires on its own easy fix.

Long ago I liked the AUG but in a fire fight when you need to reload it takes to long. I do recommend the auto loading drum mag as a fix

"Inner barrel length is 530mm not 500mm!
I purchased not the right barrel for the gun because of the wrong Evike description!

"Hello! This is my first airsoft gun, and I have to say it performs very well. Out of the box it shoots about 380 FPS, but if you put in an M120 spring, you'll get 410 to 420. I have used this rifle in two big-game scenarios, and it performed well. I've crawled through mud with it, used it to enter buildings, and even played CQC with it in an indoor arena. I LOVE the quick-change spring system, as you can swap out springs for whichever role you're playing.

I don't know what the deal is with everyone bashing APS. From what I've seen on YouTube, their brand has been consistently improving. Of course, I'm new, but this has been my experience thus far. I've played with it about 10 times (indoor mostly, two big outdoor events, and more coming). People with AKs and long-barrel M16s are always surprised at how well this thing shoots, especially when I tell them my barrel is just as long as theirs!

The ONLY problem with this gun is the foregrip, which is a common problem to all AUGs. The way I fixed mine is by using a bolt and nut through the little hole that holds it in, and then I epoxied the thing. It's like a rock now. Of course, it doesn't fold--but who needs it to fold anyway? If you don't want to hold the foregrip, you don't have to and it still feels fine.

What else? Good rate of fire with only an 8.4V battery. I kept the battery voltage stock because I didn't want to over-stress the gearbox. So I have three batteries and swap them out, depending on how long I am playing (whether mil-sim or simple CQC). But the batteries themselves last a good long while. I only have three because I am paranoid of being in a big game where you're shooting a lot, and then running out.

Honestly, at $114, you really need to give this a shot. Oh, I also mounted a nice 2.5X scope, and someone sighted it in for me. It's AWESOME. I can see my BBs heading out and landing. Pretty cool gun!

"I just got mine and I love it! I'm a big fan of bullpup designs and the AUG has been my favorite since Rogue Spear on the PC. It's a gorgeous gun.

I was having some feeding issues, usually after full auto, but they seem to have worked themselves out.

A word of advice, get a mid-cap mag or two. The mag it comes with is nice since it's the original color and design of a real AUG, but it doesn't feed very well. Not a big deal. Just a few skips.

"I love my new AUG. Shoots consistent at 380 FPS out of the box.
Feels good in hand and love the new modified look

"Great Gun Shoots amazing shot 390 right out of the box. great for a beginner or professional cons: my gun didn't come with iron sights or the manual
by Kaleb W. on 07/16/2018
"Pros:
1. Great accuracy right out of the box
2. Well built and good weight; feels realistic
3. Long inner barrel (509mm) but short package (Bullpup); good for DMR setup when upgraded properly or keep as CQB for amazing accuracy
4. Lipo ready (7.4)
5. Very Can switch safety around for left or right handed shooters (That is reason other reviewer's safety fell out, so be careful when engaging the safety. Do not push really hard)
6. Lots of rail space all over
7. Gearbox is compatible with Tokyo Marui and other Version 3 internals
8. ITS AN AUG!!!!!

Cons:
1. No iron sights; you will need to buy a sight, red dot, or scope
2. Battery compartment is small (Small or PEQ box style batteries recommended)
3. Two stage trigger can take some getting use to but its an AUG (Contacts do not fully engage sometimes causing weird firing)
4. Shots a little hot, might need new spring to pull under 400 FPS (Field FPS limits)
5. Uses specific AUG mags and included mag is not good quality but high cap(Real AUG takes STANG or M4 mags)
6. Gearbox is noisy (Needs to be properly shimmed)
7. No manual (Plenty of Youtube videos though)

Overall this is a great beginner airsoft gun with great potential to grow, with upgrades, with the player and can be molded to suit any users play style from CQB to DMR. Giving it a 4 out 5 because no iron sights included, but can not beat the very low price and unique platform that is not an M4.

"Pretty solid build. ive always been a fan of the AUG platform and this is a good example for the money (bought it on sale)

Pros
Nice build quality, made mostly of polymer but some internal parts are metal
realistic weight, doesn't feel cheap at all
comes with rails already installed
looks pretty cool
very ergonomic, fore-grip is very movable and wont get in the way
shorter length than my M416
comes with a tokyo gearbox

Cons
Doesn't come with any sight whatsoever, either use some spare sights you have or buy a cheap red dot like i did
doesn't come with a battery and its compartment is cramp, wont fit a butterfly style battery well
mine chornos at 410 FPS most of the time, way too high for any of my nearby fields but i am getting it adjusted tomorrow to 350
doesn't use STANAG mags, uses AUG custom mags, relatively cheap, about 9 dollars per mid cap and 11 or so for high caps, but still an inconvenience
by Christopher P. on 01/11/2018
"The construction and feel to this thing is unprecedented, i felt like some delta ops level of control with this, and i just dropped a new spring in this, which was the only con maybe mine was a lemon but i was only hitting around 290ish, dropped a m115 in this and getting a solid 365 with 25's

"I am giving this gun an almost perfect score. The only problems for me are the very loose vertical grip and it sometimes won't fire right away. Pretty sure this is my squished 9.6v battery that takes forever to get in the gun. The gun shoots really good at about 130 ft for max effective range.

I recommend a 7.4v lipo because it will fit much nicer and provide more room for a mosfet if desired.

I look forward to upgrading and playing regularly with this gun.
by Blake Z. on 07/05/2016
"Overall, A nice gun for starters who don't mind how difficult it is to find mags.

Pros
*Longer range than most AEGs
*High ROF with 11.1v lipo (Would recommend mosfet)
*You will get complements on your gun
*About 395 FPS

Cons
*Mags hard to find
*External quality not the best
*Small battery compartment
*Foregrip is wobbly
*Too heavy for really long games
by Shaun Z. on 02/02/2015
"This gun is a ok gun
The seams on it are a little too visible
The battery space is too small for most battery's

Pros
Constant fps of around 400
Ok rate of fire
Cons
Small battery space
Seams are very visible
by Desmond E. on 03/03/2021
"The gun itself shot well at 420 fps, right out of the box with a 9.6 it was a good shoot and the trigger was responsive and a nice weight too it but thats IT. The gun is fragile, ugly seems, and the grip is GOING to break after the like 5th fold, i cannot emphasize how awful the grip is The safety fell out and there's limited battery space, a lot of wobble too.
If the externals were better id definitely recommend especially with how well it shoots but with this thing being terribly fragile its honestly NOT worth it.
Also no irons
Mag is ehhhhh but it served me well honestly *kinda hard to find*

Pros
Shoots well
Compact
Lots of rail space
Trigger is surprisingly good

Cons

Fragile
Safety is awful
Grip is trash
The grip
Grip
THE TERRIBLE grip
Did I mention the grip
