"For the most part this review will be positive.

Marushin has created an excellent 1:1 scale gbb replica of the historic Type 14 Nambu. Just looking at it and feeling it evokes excitement, especially for replica collectors like myself. Now this review is covering the late type variant, with real wood grips in an all nickel silver finish. I've already gone ahead a removed the hideous orange tip at the barrel and this piece is looking very beautiful.

The construction of this replica, as with many japanese airsoft manufacturers (for example Marui), the guns can be a combination of polymer plastic and metal or all plastic. What we have here with the Type 14 Nambu is a combination of plastic and metal. Its not cheap plastic, but its still plastic. Just something to keep your mind on. Marushin however, has a great skill for making plastic look like metal. The finish on the plastic bits transition seamlessly by eye to the real metal bits.

As for the mag, its 95% all metal construction with the exception of the bb feeding lips, follower and a few other small bits. The mag has got a great weight to it and doesn't feel cheap (they arent going for cheap either for spares lol). I imagine my gun has been sitting in storage for a while with the others because when I went to fill the mag with propane gas at the valve it blew all over everywhere. Yes, I know how to properly load gas into a green gas mag. Good news though is that I had no leaks at all. After reapplication of pure silicone oil at the fill and expell valve the mag functions and holds gas with zero issues. Do not load more than 9 bbs at a time, this can stress the top of the feeding lips and cause it to break apart (remember, its plastic). You definitely don't want to break these mags.

Performance is pretty on spec with Evike's results. I went out on a hot day (92°F) with both .20g and .23g EMG bbs. I played around with the hop up for a bit to get it as good as I could. I was hitting quarter sized target at 20ft and landed a hit on every shot. Mag efficiency is 2 full bb mag loads on a single gas fill. Just average for a gbb pistol.

Can you field this? I highly recommend that you don't, you can have your friends check it out. You can show it off, but for sporting purposes this isn't the airsoft gun for that. If you're re enacting this will be nice to have in the appropriate holster. This is meant more as a nice display item in your room or office.

"Overall the gun is very nice the pros of it is it feels pretty solid it's got good weight and it shoots pretty accurate. The cons of it is the charging slide or plunger e as you would call it feels like it's made of plastic and a big con that I found is to put gas in the magazine is very hard the magazine definitely needs to be use silicone lubed. All around I would say it's a very good gun great collector's piece not suggested for field.
