Matrix / S&T Sportsline M4 RIS Airsoft AEG Rifle w/ G3 Micro-Switch Gearbox (Model: Black CQB-R 9")

"This is my first time writing a review, even thought I have bought more than 20 airsoft guns from EVIKE. This M4 amazingly surprises me. Never fooled by the average quality polymer receivers, buffer tude, handguards, hup-up unit and etc, it shoots excellent. The fps is around 380, faire enough., and it shoots fast. The most surprising aspect of this M4 is the accuracy despite its average built internal parts. The grouping is up to the level of a sniper rifle of high quality. Furthermore, the fast reacting trigger amases me, thanks to the MOSFET. You don't see such a feature within many high end guns. After all, this is an undoubtedly excellent airsoft gun.

PROS:
Excellent accuracy
Good fps and rps
MOSFET provided
Fast changing of spring, an excellent feature
Lightweight, can be handled with one hand, even with a M203 attached
Extremely economic choice, with a M203 launcher!

CONS
Obviously the average quality polymer material, which is supposed to be the outcome of balance of performance and cost. Understandable.
The connection of buffer tude and receiver is loose because of stripped screw of spring guide. I have to remove the cover plate between buffer tude and receiver to extend the coupling the screw and spring guide

"THIS GUN IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I have owned it for 3 years and had NO problems caused by the gun. (They were personal error and it was just a pulled wire at the tamiya plug that goes to the battery and the only reason it happened was because i tryed to extend the stock with the plug caught on it ) and that was about 2 years in and i got it working with hillbilly engineering (glue and tape) AND IT WORKED FOR ANOTHER YEAR and just this month(January 2021) and it was a short in the mosfet which im pretty sure was my fault from my hillbilly engineering. But the entire 3 years i owned this gun it never had any issues it hopped .25s and .28s with ease. And it was reliable it fed with almsot any moage i put in it it never skipped a beat. It worked with any battery from 7.4v. To a 11.1v lipo and the sight Still works after the 3 years with no problems cold rain mud snow doesnt matter. The batterys take and hold a charge and last a long time and never had any problems with the chargers. The gunsleeve fell part after a year of rough treatment but who cares THIS GUN IS FINOMENAL BUY NOW YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT STARTER OR EXPERIENCED THIS GUN WONT DISAPPOINT ITS A GREAT BASE FOR UPGRADES TOO

"Matrix S&T (Smart Team rebrand) Dark Earth Stubby

I have owned a few (3?) airsoft guns but never competed seriously. This gun was purchased for use at the local CQB field (it is almost identical to the model of this gun they loan out) and it chronographs at 350fps with .20g BBs. This was the exact limit for the field.

Pro
-Sturdy construction. Polymer is a plus because of weight. If you want a heavy gun we cannot be friends... that gets tiring fast (milsim training purposes not withstanding).
-Quick change spring! What a surprise to see that inside the gearbox. I cannot stress enough how much quick change spring setups simplify all work on gearboxes. If you have not tried it, you should.
-Handles 11.1v lipo without any changes necessary and has yet to explode. Field is semi-auto only so trigger spam is a thing. Caveat: 2s will semi-auto for several mags before becoming a bit warm. 3s (11.1v) gets warm around 400 BB's and "hot" around 800.... this is steady semi-auto with no breaks. Not the intended use case for the design so of course it struggles.
-Cost effective for value gotten: QC spring, CQB legal from the box, handles 3s voltages, sturdy polymer frame, metal gearbox (only 1 ball bearing I saw, but that's 1 more than my Cyma AK has)... not at all a bad deal. That QC spring is worth its weight in gold.

Cons
-Stock is a bit cramped for batteries... but I swapped mine out for a fixed stock and that's a non-issue. The buffer tube section stocks fit over is a bit short and could represent a weak point. Will update if I break it somehow... December 2020 so far so good?
-As mentioned the gun begins to heat up on 3s lipo, but this was stress testing and frankly I have yet to make it through a CQB game where I expended the whole high-cap magazine. Most of my time is spent going "where is everyone". Not a good LMG... but did you really buy this to be an LMG???
-Sights are not at all useful if you've got a paintball style mask, but this is true of ALL sights and not really a failure of this gun. Just something to know... low profile mask systems may not experience this problem.
-Amplifier is not easy to remove at all. I have no idea how it comes off. I'm going to just replace the outer barrel entirely and that should solve that. Note you will be forced to do battle with it if you intend to mount tracer/silencer. Obviously, it makes the gun really bloody loud... maybe you don't care though?

"The hidden gem of Evike. I have 4 of these guns: the one with the grenade launcher attached, two 5” stubbies with the amplifier and the 8” Umx. All guns shoot fantastic. My son has a krytac, but can’t let go of his dark earth 5” (the ones with the amplifiers are loud as F, but puts the fear of god in a room!). Trigger is amazing, rate of fire is very good. There is very little wrong with these guns if anything at all. For 135-150 dollars, I haven’t bought anything else, there is just no reason to spend more unless you are doing this professionally.

I love this gun purchased it a few months ago and it's great I like how it comes with a bunch of stuff like batteries and mags red dot etc I tried it out in a few airsoft games and it's amazing the thing has the best trigger response I've seen so I definitely recommend it a few this to note before buying are that the red dot sight wobbles a bit when you put it on but I fixed this by jamming plastic between the rail and the sight than the mags the hi-cap works great but the midcap doesn't work without modifying it which is very easy to do but cmon like why are you send a mag with a gun that doesn't even work together but these are very small cons I've found and you can fix them easily but other than that if your looking for a good starter aeg I definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to get into airsoft

"This thing rips. Trigger response is great, solid accuracy, pretty lightweight but yet still feels very sturdy. However, the stock is a little wobbly, and the rof is not the greatest. A great budget gun that makes a fantastic backup to give to a friend.

"I got the URX 8" version a few months ago, and it has been my go to back up gun. My P* has been a work in progress since I decided to use the worst gun ever made as the base, but this gun has helped me stay at the field when my p* decides it wants the bucking to rip, or it just doesn't want to accept magazines that day, or any number of issues. I've never had to do anything with this gun, it just works out of the box. It's gotten to the point where I've temporarily stolen the hop up assembly to use on my p*. The hop up is plastic but works amazingly and always gives me more consistent accuracy than the other hop up I used on my main gun.

PROS:
- High ROF for price
- Consistent accuracy
- Metal rail
- Overall great price to performance
- Great look
- Comfortable rail
- Very lightweight
- LiPo ready
- Never had feeding issues
- Very light trigger

CONS:
- Polymer upper and lower receiver
- Polymer buffer tube
- Wired to small tamiya(can be a pro or con depending on the batteries you already have
- FPS more suited for CQB(same as last, could be a pro or con depending on the field you go to)
- Very little space for batteries in the stock
- Mag kinda dookie
- Iron sights are more useless than usual, don't even try to use them, just get a cheap red dot, (I managed to find one for $15 that has never failed me) or just watch where the bbs fly
- If the selector switch is leaning towards safe, even while locked in the semi slot there is a little tension when firing, which is easily fixed by a soft nudge towards full auto, but the tension is so minimal I'd wager I often don't notice it

Be careful not to be too harsh on the stock as I have managed to break a buffer tube by putting too much pressure on it, but I have not had problems with this stock buffer tube yet. As far as internals go, I haven't cracked open the gearbox yet* to check the quality of the alignment of everything, but as far as I'm concerned it's a great back up gun to allow friends to borrow, but it works even better as a starter gun. If you go to an outdoor field, buy this and just change the spring, it's really easy to do thanks to the quick change system. Other than the FPS it is a purchase that is very hard to regret.

*I will update the review once I break open the gun to look at internals

"Amazing gun. Trigger can feel mushy at first because the only issue with the entire gun is a weak trigger spring, which isn't a huge deal, or a problem that costs more than $3 to fix if you know what you're doing. The gearbox is an absolute champ, the polymer body is surprisingly tough, and looks really good with a red dot and a suppressor on it if you're feeling the Dish vibe.

"Amazing gun absolutely zero complaints, it shoots 370 out the box with 20s. I have a buddy who bought a 260 dollar APS and that broke in within one month, another buddy has a CYMA m4 ~240$ and his mag release flew off first game. My point is this gun is a tank as long as you take care of it ofc, zero malfunctions love it.

"Literally the best starter gun/package got the 8” key mod. Has really snappy trigger response and great accuracy out of the box (nice that it comes with a micro switch). Nice rate of fire, even on a 9.6. My friend got the same thing and it curved to the right a bit so he put a promy purple and a mad bull inner barrel in it and it shoots lasers.

"First a Correction:
Received mine with a rear wired small tamiya connector. This was a great win for me.

* I am so impressed with this AEG! Price aside, the performance of this M4 is on par with the Lancer Tactical Gen 2 Pro-Hybrid offerings.
* The Microswitch Trigger is the shining star internally.
Because of it being rear wired, taking the handguard and off and punching out the pins on the front sight assembly is a breeze. I was able to have a cost effective 14" M-LOK handguard which is a perfect length for this one piece outer barrel.
* I am very content with the polymer elements of this AEG. My first M4 was alloy and found myself wishing I had something lighter. I ended up with an ARP9 and found I lost serious range. Length of the inner barrel is 14", and effective range is not a problem. Swapped it out with a 6.01 steel inner and a maple leaf bucking with matching tensioner and I didn't find enough of a difference. So I went back with the lighter brass inner barrel and love the feel of this.

- The only con I could find is the regulation flash hider is affixed with strong glue and a solid pin. It takes cutting if you want to be able to remove it in order to remove the front sight assembly. So pick up a fresh orange tip.
