"Best clone sniper rifle ever. Its got V-Hopup, so awesome range and a stock tightbore barrel, so awesome accuracy. Super affordable. This is a VSR-10 clone and is almost as good. Best choice for any sniper unless they want a gass or AEG or a $300 bolt action.

"I first must start off by saying that my BAR-10 is currently my favorite gun in my arsenal. For someone looking into becoming an airsoft sniper, there is no reason to choose another rifle over this one. It's many features include:
- Great stock power. Cut down the airbrake and teflon tape the seals of the cylinder head, and you'll get around 475fps, for free.
- Good looks. The stock is coated in some sort of rubberized paint, which is very comfortable to hold, doesn't reflect light, and is very attractive.
- Accuracy. This gun comes stock with a V-hop, which is pretty much the best hop-up system because it puts even pressure on two points of the bb, not just one.
- Compatibility. This gun can take any VSR-10 upgrade parts out there, although I would recommend the EdGi upgrade kit and barrel for best performance.

When you consider that this gun costs $100, when it should cost $250, it is an absolute steal. Even if you're not a sniper, you should have one of these. It's that good.

"Right out of the box the 450 FPS version only shoots at 390 fps with .2’s. However,It seems to accurately shoot .2’s at about 200 ft. I was planning on using .36 bb’s but doesn’t even reach 100ft (with .36) until I upgrade the spring. The front sight was easy to take off and replace with the scope mount

"Not as advertised. However still a good platform the stock an components are good quality for about $100 gun. The JG magazines are a little loose compared to a Tokyo Marui magazine and the bolt wobbles side to side when pulled back.

Things to note that are not in the description of the rifle.
-The trigger box is potmetal
-The piston and spring guide are plastic

I purchased this with the intent to build it, after I installed a Maple Leaf 6.01 barrel and Autobots bucking and Maple Leaf hop lever I was chronoing 294 fps with .32 bbs which put me under MED for the field I play at. This is the rifle you buy if you want to learn how to tech and build up, but remember it wont be cheap.

"Love the gun right out the box definited good. Had a problem shooting (had to max out the hopup).36g bbs moved down the .25 and it works great now cant wait to add some upgrades

"Decent sniper rifle but advertised fps is false.
Advertised is 450fps. After a AC tightbore barrel and Laylax hop up were added it was tech tested at a mere 360-380. Unless heavier ammo ie..32+ was used during the test. My JG T3 shoots just a tad under that, with .20-.25s. So not sure what gives.
Of note if you choose to upgrade the trigger box/sears/springs/spring guide/and cylinder, be advised that a some diy mods may be needed! Stock trigger sear is a about .5 to .75mm thinner then aftermarket sears. So it isnt a drop in upgrade like my old Well Mb03.
Only other complaint is the sights and rail. The front sight is a tape on sight. Seriously? The rail comes with two types of screws. One hex, one phillips. Why?
The body is a bit too smooth for my tastes. But that is a personal opinion and doesnt take away from the overall value of the gun.
Overall the gun is worth the price. Leery about the 500fps version advertised here. As it only indicates a stronger spring. No mention of a stronger sear. Which will break sooner with the stronger spring. Put that extra $50 towards a 0 trigger box and get this one.
The rifle is a little louder then the Mb03 but that is only due to 17.9 cm shorter barrel length. The advantages though is that heavier ammo can be used more effieciently with Bar 10 vs the Mb03. And that slightly shorter overall length helps in closer urban enviros or in the bush.
Would give this gun 5 stars had it not been for a couple of minor flaws.

"PROS:
Comfy
Sturdy
Shoots well out of box
bolt action feels nice
many mods to upgrade with

CONS:
mags are a pain to get out of it
w.o upgrades fps is low for a sniper

TLDR:
Solid gun, needs mods, mags are annoying

"I bought this rifle a couple weeks ago and I am impressed. The scope is amazing for only an extra $30 ( it has zoom ).
I was disappointed that it came with only 2 screws to mount the rail instead of 4 , so it is a bit wobbly and needs tightening after each day I play.

PROS:
Good quality construction

Decent, not great accuracy/range for a stock rifle

Racking the bolt is so satisfying and easy

Very ergonomic and feels great in your hand

Trigger pull is not too heavy or too light

Light and easy to maneuver

LOTS of aftermarket parts to upgrade

Very quiet shots( I played a skirmish on my friend's land and missed a shot from about 30-50 yards and didn't give away my position ).

CONS:
Tools that come with it strip after about 5 uses

Didn't come with full # of screws

Mag is a bit picky and has feeding problems 2/10 times

Mag is somewhat difficult to take out

Great package for $150

"Good rifle. Pretty darned accurate at mid-range. Haven't tested it at more than 20 yards yet, but at that distance I can drop the bullets inside a quarter. I have my own scopes, so I didn't test that or the bipod. Got two of these rifles, one for me and one for my little bro. They both have a flaw or two each, but that comes with anything, naturally. Mine had a pin inside the bolt near the bolt handle just slide on out when I tilted it. Glued it back. My brothers was pretty good, but there were a few loose pieces and it needed greasing. I hate that they are made of pot metal, I wish they would be real steel. Much more sturdy that way.
The rifles have a nice rubber coating on them, pretty grippy but not sure how great it holds paint when you spray it.
These are our first spring rifles, and it surprised me how easy it is to pull the bolt back. Goes smooth as butter, and you don't need to change positions to load it. Nice.

JG seems to be a good make for mid-level guns on a budget.
Overall a good gun, no cons for me yet except for the few quality points.

"I just got this a few days ago and I can say it is perfect. I'm really new to the whole airsoft thing so it took me some time to actually get used to it. I'd say this would go perfect for beginners and most likely pros. Any one who want to fulfill the dream of sniping.

Pros:
Good Fps
Nice stock (rubber feel)
Nice weight
Accurate (if you adjust the hopup and scope correctly)
Fair price

Cons:
I shot it about everyday so my trigger box took a heavy toll and now it slam fires, but I'm hopping to get new sears to fix it.

The bolt is a bit hard to pull back, but nothing some good old lubricant can't fix

Careful with the mag release the spring is easy to loose

All together it is really nice my advice is don't over fire it unless you're planning to upgrade it as soon as you buy it.

"Great gun although mine double or triple feeds, quality is alright for a Chinese clone.
I might have to get a VSR-10 mag to fix the feeding problem.

"I agree mostly with Alex T. You will have to drop some money into it. But, maybe not quite as much. You need: sears, tightbore barrel, new hopup, new spring, and a damper head. Cylinder and new trigger system are not necessary, but are helpful. You could get a good gun for 300ish. If you are short on money, yet really want this gun, buy the gun, buy a new barrel (6.01) and soft hopup, then buy sears and cylinder head for about 80 bucks total. Then buy a new spring, hard hopup and then you have a decent gun. Once you get the tightbore in it, it will be pretty accurate. It will get even more accurate once you get that spring.

For any new player however, buy a AEG. You have to know how to snipe and how to conceal yourself as well as have a good idea of how the game works, then you could go to a sniper.

"Waited to post a review until I've had ample play time (1+ years) with it!

The JG Bar-10/VSR10 is a great sniping platform and an awesome intro gun into airsoft! Right out of the box it fires pretty well with little issues, and generally feels good in your hands. Though I cannot stress enough; I would only recommend this gun to airsofters who are interested in sniping AND learning how to mod/upgrade/tech your own gun. While this could work as a cheap intro into airsoft sniping which can be a huge appeal to most players, remember that you get what you pay for, and I genuinely believe that this gun with engineered with upgrades in mind.

I REPEAT!! If you do not want to be bothered with upgrades or learning how to repair or upgrade your internals, do not get this gun!! You will be much happier with a platform that performs better and is more accurate right out of the box like a Tokya Marui or Novritsch rifle.

Pros:
- Cost is amazingly cheap, able to pick up the rifle and a scope for under $150!
- Lightweight, very easy to handle and operate in longer games.
- Is fairly accurate out of box, but with any sniper platform requires lots of practice to get comfortable.
- Tons of upgrade parts out there to customize and increase performance and keep the gun running for a long time!

Cons:
- Construction isn't the greatest, again I feel this gun is built with upgrades assumed after purchase.
- FPS is not the greatest out of the box. First couple of games I played before upgrades generally had this shooting around 340-350 FPS.
- Accuracy is ok, though for a sniper platform accuracy is everything.

"Has some serious issues, even as an upgrade base.

Most of the stock screws are really bad. One of the scope mount's screws stripped immediately. Literally screwed it half way in and the head rounded out like it was made of paper. Luckily it had only threaded in a bit and I could remove it with pliers and I had some extra M3 screws lying around.

barrel is wobbly. The threads for the screw the holds the barrel and receiver together stripped.

Doesn't come with an end cap to for the outer barrel. Removed the orange flash hider and it's just kind of an open tube. It has inner threads though. Got the flash hider meant for it. Really wish that was included though. Just glue the orange tip over the flash hider like everyone else.

The swivel studs are ridiculously bad. Put a sling on the rear one and it ripped out. Tightening a bipod ripped the front one out. Seriously, replace them ASAP.

Replaced the stock hop up and barrel assembly with an AA hop up, ML Autobot bucking, ML omega nub, and ML 6.02 barrel. With all that and perfect airseal it was shooting 1.1j, or 345fps w/ .2s. Not sure what was up with that.

The trigger has some side to side play which is kinda weird.

The scope mount isn't standard picatinny. Why?

Mag release is super easy to hit by accident

Mag got jammed half released once. Had to take the stock off to fix it.

The good:

With the upgrades I listed above (AA hop up, ML Autobot bucking, ML omega nub, and ML 6.02 barrel.) and .36g bbs, it's shooting pretty well.

The upgrades fit easily with no issues.

Nothing's broken yet.

"the bolt is very hard to pull back. i don't know if this is meant to be, but I don't think I want it this hard to pull back. Novritsch can pull back his bolt iwth with a pinky, this one you have to really go *uggghhh*. I oiled up the cylinder and checked the spring guide alignment, which seemed good already. I think you have to buy a new piston. This one grinds its plastic against the cylinder sides. Also mine doesn't shoot as good as an AEG. so definitely need upgrades. Well, I expected this going in. Sniping is an expensive hobby that requires a lot of tuning and patience. So beware, you newbies who want to get into sniping.
