"For the price this is a good hicapa, but its not without issues. I will start by saying i absolutely adore the aesthetic of this gun. It is beautiful! I guess its easiest to just do my pro and con list.

Pros:
1. Heavy weight and solid feel
2. Metal slide and outer barrel
3. Solid kick
4. Reasonable accuracy out of the box
5. Unbeatable looks

Cons:
1. The barrel will jam in the slide if you dont lube the section on the hop up where it meets the outer barrel to do the drop barrel thing with a thick silicone oil and it will scuff the rose gold finish off. This happened to me on 2 seperate guns before i figured out the issue. Keep it lubed and it wont jam though.
2. The outer barrel is 2 pieces. I had one seperate mid match and fly out of he end of the gun. They are only glued in.
3. The trigger break could be better (not really a con cuz it is decent for a stock gun at this price point, but its no goldmatch trigger)
4. This gun is a 5.4 not a 5.1 which makes parts hard to find. I put a 138mm tight bore in it and it comes right to the end of the thread adapter and sticks out about 1/4" when the slide is racked. I think a 123mm is the stock length but thats near impossible to find.
5. The 2 piece guide rod is nice for getting short stroke bumpers in easily ( i have 5 cowcow bumpers in) but take care to locktite the grub screw because it comes loose and i doubt it will be easy to find a replacement.
6. The hop up wheel seems to move on its own. Every few games i have to adjust it back
7. The barrel threads were an afterthought. My advice is to locktite a -14mm adapter into it and just leave it there.
8. The stippling on the grip is molded. Its ok, but once you hold the alpha omnivore, this grip feels basically smooth.

I know theres more cons than pros, but i believe most of them to be overcomeable with a little care and attention. At the price point it is really hard to argue with. If you were to get a gold match and ONLY upgrade to a metal slide and outer barrel, it would cost 2x as much. On the whole this is a good gun and i dont regret buying it. Definitely an attention getter on the field!

"I have purchased both the standard version and the steel slide version.

Standard:
I pre-ordered this and received one of the first batches. The magwell was anodized black.

Steel:
Steel slide and steel barrel. This one came with a matte magwell.

The finish on the frame is a little different, but other than that the only difference is the steel slide and steel barrel. Both have the same amount of play between the slide and the frame.

On the standard version, the quality of the trigger was much better, a lighter pull and more distinguishable "break". The steel version the trigger was quite heavier and noticeably awkward. QC may be a little hit or miss. The barrel finish also scratches off very easily on both versions.

I personally appreciate the steel version as even with such a heavy slide the hi-capa system can easily empty a full magazine.

"Nice gun, good weight to it, fires and kicks well. Unfortunately it has a very noticeable rattle in the slide which was disappointing. Still happy with it, just expected a little more from EMG.

"A solid (literally) pistol with some sick looks and respectable performance.

Appearance:
I was in the second batch of preorders for this pistol, and am admittedly disappointed. The first batch got the correct magazine type (a second CO2 mag if you ordered the CO2 model), while I was stuck with two different types (CO2 and Green Gas, useless to me), and a hardshell holster (while I am stuck with a generic softshell). But qualms aside, it was a solid pistol. I have yet to chrono it, but it shoots loud, hard, and fast. The internals seem durable, and it is a heavy, rugged frame. Although the paint coating on the frame and anodizing on the barrel do have some scratches on contact points, nothing that impedes upon performance.

Performance:
I'll be honest, the hop-up is junk. Mine ranged from nothing to almost adequately hopping 0.20s (I will admit the sheer power still lets you engage out to 100')... The thumb safety on mine was a bit sticky, but I believe mine was just a lemon, after comparing with others. It was fixed after disassembling the safety and fiddling around with the part. It's now smooth as butter and actually operates like a real-steel 2011 (thumb safety can only be engaged when the hammer is cocked), which I find really cool. Problems aside, it is reportedly TM spec, so upgrades should be easy (Anything for a 5.1 Hi-CAPA should work). The trigger is amazing. Light, crisp and VERY short (somewhere around 1/16th to 1/8th of an inch). Beavertail safety functions as it should. Field stripping is a dream (the only pin is almost concerningly too easy to remove), easily breaking apart and reassembling.

Pros
*Great trigger
*Solid, large, heavy (could be con) frame
*Looks bada**
*Runs smooth out of box
*Shoots surprisingly hot and loud for GBB
*reasonably gas efficient (two mags for one CO2 cartridge)
*Internally threaded outer barrel (I've been told this works: https://www.evike.com/products/36449/)
*Enlarged magazine release
*It's a 2011/Hi-CAPA (flared magwell, double-stack drop-free mag, etc.)

Cons:
*Poor quality control (I've heard of several problems, and experienced one. Be prepared to possibly RMA or DIY)
*Not Cerakote paint by a long shot (it will scratch at contact points starting with the first mag, but what pistol won't eventually?)
*Poor stock hop and bucking (can be fixed for cheap)

Tl;dr, It's a great base if you can afford it that may need a little work internally, but is by no means bad. A powerful and upgradeable package.

"Its taking a while but hopefully it comes early on August and when it arrives i write a full review about it. From all the reviews it should be a worth to wait .

"I got the pre-order version of the pistol and its fantastic. I love the pistol and custom magazine. However the holster just doesnt want to connect to the MOLLE Attachment. I think the screw is too short for it to go through the attachment to the holster.

"Well, as some said just right below, I just received mine too :

Pro :
Looks freaking good,
Well built,
Very strong,
Heavy enough,
God damn good range,
Hop up really easy to set up,
Trigger responsive,
Punchy blowback ,
Because of the pre-order : one green gas magasine offered one hardshell holster
Mags are really strong and NOT leaking (very good point)

Cons :
Received with the right part of the ambidextrous thumb safety broken, a bit sad about that.
Mine was a bit dry, don't forget to clean it and relubricate it.

Talking about the holster : some of you mentioned that screws were not enough long..
Pro tip : just remove the nut from the molle attachment, and then screw the holster threw the molle attachment ... ;) Now it will be just the good length :D

4/5 because of the ambidextrous thumb safety broken, however would have been 5/5 without this trouble. But definitely a good choice if you're a fan ! (And even for those who are not)

"Overall this pistol is well balanced. The grip feels good in hand there are no sharp edges to rub your fingers the wrong way while using it. The extended mag release is a bit goofy looking up close however it does its job well. The recoil on the gun is better than every other pistol I have shot out of the box. However I find that the hopup unit to be a bit lacking. My backyard is only about 30-40 ft and with the dial adjusted to full hop with .25g bb's they are barely making it to the treeline before dropping off. If you are looking to work on this beauty yourself then you MUST keep track of the small Allen tool that comes with the gun. That tool is used to take out the set screw in the guide rod to allow it to split into two pieces. After that you can disassemble it just like any other hi cappa of that style. After fielding it at a local indoor field I found this pistol to be more gas efficient than the other AW custom I have. Lastly you do not have to use the slide release when reloading the pistol. You can grab the slide and rack it again to reset the slide.

Pros:
-Light
_ aggressive recoil right out of the box
- gas efficient
- split guide rod
- Realistic reload capability
- comfortable grip
- comes with 2 nubs for the mag release
- threaded outer barrel

Cons:
- plain rear iron sights ( Thats just a preference )
- pre order bonus holster is incompatible with the attachment
- lousy hop up
-after about 500 rounds the finish on the outer barrel started to come off

"this is a sick gun!!!!! i freaking loved it!!! Per ordered it on june and received it a couple days ago and fielded on SC village. It was so crisp.
The only thing i hate about it is that there is no info on how to disassemble the gun. i tried to disassemble it but i cant remove the return rod for some reason.
Is there anyone or any info on how to do it?

"Love it, but there are some issues.

Got this 10 months ago, love it, hits like a hammer, great ROF, fits well in your hand, love the kick.

Now, after less than 2,500 rounds there is a crack in the slide below the ejection port. It is past Evike's warranty period, and I still haven't heard back from EMG. I feel like the slide should be stronger for something at this price point, given the reputation of the manufacturer.

"I actually love this pistol 🔫.. but the 2 flaws I've noticed is ... when I first bought this gun... I shot about 2 clips full and the slide jammed... I checked it out and it had a broken screw in the slide.. I took. It back to the air soft store they returned it for a new one... I got the new one and it did the same thing after 4 or 5 full clips.. I found There’s a tiny allen key screw inside where you would normally remove the spring and barrel. That screw has broken on both the guns I bought.. had to up grade to a stronger screw from my local hardware hank and now it works great.. the other thing is the clip release had the competition release button... I took it off.. because evertime I would grab my gun it would drop the clip on the floor... other then that I love the gun.. also love the walther ppq air pistol... wish these guys would allow pictures...

"The gun out of box is great. The only issues I’ve had was that the safety detent and spring tends to spring out and I end up losing and having to replace it, this has happened twice. The slide release has a lot of side play sometimes it won’t even lock my slide back due to misalignment and the last is the mad release button tends to get loose here and there so I usually have to tighten it frequently. It may just be my gun but overall the performance out of box is great.

"All three months i have been waiting for it was a waste i got a damaged 2011 and didnt get the chance to use it. Also seemed used because the little certificate of emg anf TTI collaboration and the mag release had been already screwed on and people on youtube who have open it, they needed to apply the extended mag release. But in hand it felt great even though it was injection molded. Evike reps were very helpful with my situation.
