"I bought this gun on a different website for 150, but without the jungle kit and the 2009 version. My first recommendation is to stick with evike because of their service and information they give. I'm not going to write another whole review (I did on the other website but the 2009 version was deleted) but I will say this gun is worth it. There are several things I recommend though.
1. Buy a front sight. _____
2. Battery is bad, get a 9.6v suitable for a crane stock =---_____ like that.
3. Get a tightbore 300mm barrel. This helps alot!
4. If you don't want iron sights, buy a red dot or acog scope.
5.(optional) Buy rail attachments. Lots of rails.
With these, the gun is awesome. You do not need to open up the gun much to upgrade, just get a new battery and a tightbore barrel. That's all you need!

"Hey I'm sorry to post a question on here, I've never done that... but does anyone know if the barrel is like the regular Echo M8A3 where the outer one can just screw off, and the inner is realistically around 300mm? I was debating buying this rifle and swapping the barrel with like a KX3 type flash hider. Saw a youtube review with one of those on the M8A3 so I was hoping this was pretty much the same.

"This gun is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I bought it about a year and a half ago, and it still works wonders. However, when I first got it, there was an issue with an overactive hop-up. That was easily replaced with a tightbore barrel. I also recommend a Classic Army crane stock, if you can find one laying around Evike's store. (Which is the holy grail of Airsoft, if you haven't been). I bought an ACOG red dot scope for mine, and the BB "hits" the dot every time I shoot it. Don't use this gun for large matches (open fields). Stick to close forests, or back behind houses like I do. Also, I recommend a 9.6v battery for a crane stock, if you like that little extra punch.

"This was my first airsoft rifle. I bought it without doing the necessary research beforehand. Suffice to say, I was lucky on this one. I highly recommend buying the 9.6v battery as mentioned in this ad description. This rifle's rate of fire is fairly high!
My model feels pretty solid, with very little body wobble. It has a good weight to it, and is decently accurate.
My main problems with my rifle are twofold: 1.--I'm not too thrilled with the Crane Stock due to the limited battery options. I'm contemplating a switch to an exterior-rail mounted battery system, and 2.--I absolutely abhor that orange painted tip-area on the mock silencer. I would much rather have the old birdcage flash supressor. I tried to see if that part was removable, which it is not. So, it looks like I will break out the flat black auto paint!
Overall, I have heard many complaints in regard to other D-Boy products. This model rifle should NOT be overlooked. I highly recommend this rifle.

"I got my jg cqb-r about 1 month ago. it has consistantly shot 401fps sence i got it. ive upgraded it with a tenergy 10.8 4500 battery and rof is insane. ive also put a jbu 455mm 6.03 barrel with zombie killer silencer and accuracy is insane all the way out to 150ft. my friend advised against the 10.8 battery but its been on there for 3 weeks and i havnt been easy on it and it hasnt let up one bit. also i have put on a bipod foregrip and 5,000 round a&k mag ,scope riser with a leapers red green scope.
the silencer did alittle bit to silence the gun down but not much. dont get it if you want a quiet gun cause like the jg m16 its very loud. i personaly like it . .

"Got it in the mail today and it seems sturdy and good.
Chrono'd it with .25's and it shot 360fps.
Range and accuracy it is pretty good especially on semi.
Shorter stock makes the gun more comfortable.
9.6v fit in the stock just fine.
Only 'con' was it sounds a little tingy when it fires but thats it.
Overall I would recommend it. Echo 1 tends to make good guns and this one is an upgrade to their regular m4 series.

"The body is abs plastic, but it doesn't feel like the crappy abs plastic on the echo1 mp5j.
This gun is actually quite heavy considering its body is plastic. This gun is very VERY well balanced. It just feel right in your hands. Since it just floats in your hands the ergonomics for this gun are off the charts. I'd give this gun a 10/10 if i could.
PS: GET THIS GUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"saw this gun in person, its nice, has upgraded internals with some aftermarket parts, element orange torque piston, madbull blue bucking, and a nice RIS, Only downsie to this gun is the body is ABS not metal :)

"the body is shiny and the trades and markings arnt very convincing...
however is good price for a good performing aeg with good compression. Jg/echo1 has good internals in the newer aegs, only thing need to change is the bucking to systema and get a nice tightbore barrel and add a good 9.6v high output battery and your scrimmage ready.

"I have this gun. It works very well for outdoor play, but im sorry it doesnt leave welts at 100 yards away.
Pros.
Good ROF
Good FPS (if event or people you play with allow aegs over 400 fps)
Entire front rail mount is metal, along with the gear box and such.
Battery has a good life but it can run out.
Cons.
Guns a little loud.
The the body from the front forgrip is plastic.
Crane Stock for me is annoying as hell.
Ide give it a 9/10.
WEbmaster: 100 yard is 300 feet....
