"This is a real steel sight and not a cheap replica sight. If you need a rugged sight this is a great option. There was a review video online where the side of it was shot with a shotgun and not only did it survive and function, it even held zero.

The reason I got it was I wanted a sight that I would not have to worry about batteries. With the battery it is listed to have quite a ridiculous life. However it can still operate without the battery thanks to the solar panels.

The reticle can be switched to various options which I appreciated. The brightness settings are good as well, it handles both low and high light situations very well.

It also has a quick detach mounting solution which is great since I like to switch the sight to different guns.

In addition, standard flip up sight protectors adequately cover the lens. Very important since this sight costs more than some airsoft guns.

"tl:dr For twice the price of a knock off, get the real thing.

I got tired of the cheap $50 to $100 dollar sights that don't last long.

Probably overkill for airsoft..but better over than under.
