"STONER 96 LMG AEG very good gun not to heavy but not light. only thing i dislike is the battery storage which is in the handguard.
otherwise a okay fire rate box mag is a little finicky but would still buy again

"initial impression of the stoner as I've only had it about a week: its a great rifle. id say its the best offensive style, lightweight machine gun on the market! at its fully extended position, its shorter than an m4 carbine, and weighs roughly 12lbs, fully loaded with an optic, full mag, and dummy round, it can't be beat. I've owned every support weapon on the market and this is now my go to gun for staying mobile. has about 250 foot range with the hop up dialed in. 400fps on a .2 bb and the mag keeps up with the fire rate no problem. and yes the large 2400 round m249 box mag will lock in, and can be modified very slightly, it will work just fine. only problem ive had was straight out of the box. mine came looking slightly used. paint worn off on a few places, as well as a few pieces were loose in the box. namely the stock button, and the latch that holds the lower receiver to the gun. but it took less than 5 minutes to remedy that and nothing as truly missing so i'm not complaining. also, you should probably buy loctite with the gun, much of the stock assembly is held in place with set screws that come loose quickly. but once you get them in place correctly, and loctited they aren't going anywhere. also, you can get a 9.6 to fit stick battery to fit. however you have to remove the long wire connector first. but its tamiya connected and connects right at opening where the inner barrel meets the gearbox. so battery changes are a pain but possible. this also gives a slight fire rate boost since the wiring distance is shorter, so i consider that a pro. ill probably be putting up a youtube review soon as well, so look there for more answers and a visual guide to some of the things i talked about here. overall 7/10 simply for the packaging issues and the slightly used look straight from the box.

"If you are looking for a rapid deployment LMG this gun is for you. A LMG with the simplicity of a M4. Its so Lightweight your gunner no longer has to lag behind due to the weight of his gear. The mag feeds without a skip. The gun is durable and reliable. By far the best gun Ive added to my collection. However, its smaller than youd think. I was able to fit it collapsed in my 40L bag. Its about the same size as a M4 carbine. It would be great for a high speed, or silent team as the LMG is very quiet when you move with it and light.

"First, I haven't taken this out on the filed yet. I will update then. But so far this thing is incredible. I am a big fan of KWA, and have 3 of their rifles. But this thing may "supersede" them for my needs. It is 400+ FPS out of the box (.20s). The box mag feeds great (unlike the A&K sound activated mags). The mag feeds automatically-there is a spring loaded plunger that pushes the BBS up and tells the mag when the winding needs to occur-hard to explain but it works great.
I'm hoping the matrix 11.1 stick type battery will fit in the underbarrel (where the battery is supposed to go) If it works it will be easily accessible, and invisible.
Great ROF. Hop-up seems effective and spins up BBs incrementally.
It's as light as most of M4s, and looks Bad ass.
I am super excited about playing with this bad boy.

"Just played my first field game with this and it was amazing. We played a game where my team was out numbered 2 to 1, but we had two lmgs, including mine, to defend a base. The game lasted about 40 minutes and this did a great job putting out suppressive fire the entire time.
And regarding the previous review about the door on the mag not closing, its pretty easy to fix that. There's a pin that holds the door and the spring in place, and if it isn't closing, all you need to do is reach in there and push that pin back into place.

Pros:
Pretty accurate, even for an lmg
VERY lightweight, only 11 pounds fully loaded
Capable of laying down fire for a very long time
Quick change spring so you can use this indoors
Easy to disassemble

Cons:
Limited battery space, can only really use 8.4v stick types and buffer tube style lipos, but you can use a PEQ box easily
1200 mag is kind of small for an lmg, but its still enough

"Let me start by saying that this is the most satisfying airsoft gun I've ever owned. The way it looks, the way it shoots, the ergonomics. It's all amazing. I've played two full days with it so far. The first day I took this gun out to the field was the first time I'd ever even used a support weapon. I only had the one mag the gun came with so I was praying it wouldn't malfunction. It didn't, and the box mag is probably the best magazine I've ever used. The entire internal section of the magazine has a spring beneath it that pushes up bb's as you fire, so there is no rattling until the magazine has about 250 bb's which is also a great way to tell when you're running low. The magazine can be filled up from the side without even taking it out of the gun which is another plus. The first game with this gun I went through about 5000 rounds in a day with no hiccups. The motor in this gun can easily handle suppressive fire, since at worst it's only gotten slightly warm after firing an entire mag in just a few minutes. The range and grouping are great as well. Range is about 150 feet I estimate, and the groupings look to be around 10 feet at this range. Again, this is just an estimate. Overall, This gun is great. Plus it gets tons of compliments for being badass. You may think I'm going to list just pros, but there are some cons too.

Pros
-Lightweight. It's never made me feel fatigued like an m249 or m60 would.
-the build quality feels amazing
-$350 for this beast is a steal
-magazine auto winds perfectly, doesn't rattle, and is loaded easily
-plenty of rail space and 14 mm negative threads for accessories
-Rof is perfect for suppressing as long as you get an 11.1 v battery (around 17 rps)
-Perfect for support, and can be used at Ops as a support weapon, but has way better handling than most LMG's
-Full trades
-Tons of fun to shoot and use
-unique
-comes with a 6.05 inner barrel stock and a decent bucking+nub which gives it good range
-Gearbox seems solid. It's had 10,000 rounds with no problem.
-comes with rail covers
-feels and handle much like an AR-15

Cons
-Battery is difficult to put in and wires can get crushed
-No sling mount points (I used paracord)
-Only full auto, which means you cant decompress the spring
-rate of fire is slow. With an 11.1 it's perfect, but if you want it to shoot faster than about 17 rps you'll need to do internal upgrades.
-top, back rail was difficult to get my sights on because it's just slightly thicker than the others.
-Can only take KAA Stoner mags
-the gas block that has the sight atttached to it becomes loose VERY easily and starts rattling. I took it off and put a piece of tape between it and the barrel to fix it. This wobble also made my front sight crooked which is why I got new sights.
-When taking off the outer barrel, You need to open the feed tray cover and hold the inner barrel so that it doesn't slide out with it. If it does, at best it's a bit annoying to get positioned again correctly and at worst the barrel gets twisted and rips the hop up bucking (which is what happened on mine)
-doesn't include fake bullets :(
-the stock SUCKS. the tab that clicks into each position can fall into the stock if you press the button when the stock isn't right side up. Then you have to take off the back stock piece to re position it. It's also very wobbly and clunky. And, the worst part: there's no way to replace it.
-some gun techs won't work on this gun because so few people have them
-There isn't much information about it out. For example I don't even know what version the gearbox is (although I believe it's V.2) and I don't know who OEM's it.
-The packaging was very basic white Styrofoam that gets everywhere and it didn't even come with a manual (just the gun with rail covers on it, and the magazine), hence I had to figure out the entire gun and don't know how the quick change spring feature works.

Also, this rifle is not made by KWA, as the reviewer below me said. On the box mag it says Classic Army so I assume the internals are as well, but a guy who owns a local airsoft shop near me said the internals were king arms. I'm not sure, but the internals are decent. They've put up with about 10000 rounds so far in the few weeks I've had it with no problem but I'm sure I'll have to replace some parts with stronger ones soon enough.

Obviously there are more cons than pros, But I recommend this gun fully. The cons, for the most part, can be worked around or negated, and it's worth it; Because this gun is extremely effective, intimidating, easy to handle, and fun to use.

"Out of the box, this gun is clearly well built. Everything functions well, looks good and nothing feels like it is going to fall off. Only concern is on the box magazine. The fill port cover does not stay closed. If you can fix something up to remedy that this gun cannot be beat!

Pros
The fear in the eyes of the enemy
Smooth gearbox
Accurate
Sturdy frame

Cons
Magazine does not stay closed

"Love the stoner 96, unfortunately the box mag was defective upon opening the box. The box mag was broken where the dummy rounds sit, it looks like the piece was broken before and someone attempted to glue it. I have contacted evike about this issue. The gun has no damage on it. The stoner is a fantastic support lmg. I recommend the gun just make sure the box isn’t damaged they don’t come in stock to often

"Came pretty janky. Scuffed up. Adjustable stock button stuck and not functioning at all so stock just slides with gravity. Pointless front grip for weight of weapon. Not evike’s fault. Just booo
