"The first and foremost thing that I must clear up with this gun: IT WILL DOUBLE FEED. I've seen many "macho" reviewers saying how it only double feeds if you are weak and can't pull it back in one go- this is NOT the case. It will double feed, and it will continue to do so, unless you get a better hopup from what other sources say.

Now that is done, the gun is beautiful with a good weight, i'm not a scrub so 9lbs isn't bad at all. The infamous mag catch is just as everyone says, a bit of a hassle but not enough to actually take away from the gun. However the magazine provided with the gun is definitely subpar, so but a spare one. Hopefully it's spring is stronger.

Now although the it does double feed consistently without fail, when it does shoot, I can agree with everyone else. ACCURATE. I nailed someone from over 250ft away (after a long struggle of fighting the 20mph wind) and it was glorious. The bolt is indeed just a tad hard to pull, but certainly not because of the spring. Get a good lubing and it's easy peasy.

All in all, beautiful, strong, but inconsistent. Upgrades would make her shine.

"I have had this gun for a year or so and have heavily used it but not with matches.

The M150 is a good spring and is plenty powerful enough, I recommend .32 BBs to .4 BBs
Hop up is located above the chamber, and is the screw closer to the bolt carrier, not the one closest to the handgaurd.

This gun is decently accurate if you have a good scope and properly adjusted hop up and BBs.

It is ALL metal, with hard ABS plastic grip and stock, the stock is sturdy, the cheek pad is not anything great but it works and it is comfy. The sling mount on the gas block and stock are strong, and I have a sling from a camera on it.

Iron sights work pretty good.

Now, there comes the problems.

The magazine is big cap, 60 rnds, but you cannot load it up to 60. I put it at 55 and it still has too high of a pressure, and double feeds. Dont load it with more than 40. Also its REALLY wobbly.

Spring is an easy enough pull, but it gets hard after a while because it is basically an AK-47 charging handle as a bolt handle.

Here is the WORST part. The trigger group.
1. There is a pin that holds the trigger group in, as the SVD was designed to have a removable trigger group. The pin is the biggest one on the gun, the pinhead is what stops the fire selector from traveling too far down. When removed, you can drop the trigger group, and the other side fits into the receiver with a small lip. Basically, that broke off. so now the lip is wobbly so the whole trigger group can be pushed. This makes the sear (the thing that releases the plunger) positioned a bit too high.

2. because of this trigger group being too far up, when the gun is cocked the plunger has enough force on the sear that the force of your pull lifts the bolt carrier INTO the receiver rather than pulling the sear downward. Basically I had to put tape on the sear and trigger mechanics, so that there was enough space for the sear to go down all the way.

Pros: decent accuracy
full metal
high power
high capacity even with high pressure mag spring
it's an SVD so it's a space gun
scope rail is very stable, if it's not working blame the mount.
it's really heavy. like, realllly heavy. (if you want a mobile gun, don't get it)
easy spring change

Cons:
Mag is wobbly and can't hold 60 or it double feeds
Trigger group is fragile and needs tweaking, and results in a very unfortunate trigger issue.
hop-up is hard to adjust, (although you need not take of the scope to do it) Id like it if you didnt need tools to do it.

"The only reason I rated this gun at a three is because of the fact that I (probably) received a lemon. The gun is great besides that one fact.

I've had this gun for a week now and I thought it would be a good idea to write a review. I would like to point out a couple things before getting to the actual review, however, because some things have gone awry.

First off, this "Matrix" SVD arrived in a Aim Top box, and though it has nothing to do with the actual product quality, I thought it was rather weird.

Second, I am pretty convinced the one I have received is a lemon. The stock(which came separated from the main gun) refuses to fit, however I have recently made progress with it and have managed to push it together. The other problem could either be with the actual gun or it could simply be the magazine, but either way the magazine is extremely loose. This leads to misfires almost every time the gun is shot, but when holding the magazine in place the gun fires perfectly. This disappointed me, being that one of the main reasons this gun was made was to improve the fit of the magazines. There has also been a couple random problems within the receiver, but I have chosen not to mess with anything inside as I have contacted the staff at Evike (very wonderful people with pretty darn good costumer service) and am waiting for their insight on what to do next.

Now, onto the highlights of the gun (which there is quite a few)

When it does shoot, this SVD hits hard. It's amazingly accurate even without a scope and it shoots very far. The bolt is reasonably easy to pull back, and it gets easier with time. The gun feels very solid, and looks sexy. Everything I wanted and more (when functioning properly).

Pros:

Beautiful
Hard hitting
Great FPS
Great Range
Easy to use bolt
Very solid build
ACCURATE

Cons:

It was a Lemon (hopefully)

I will be updating this review as soon as Evike staff get back to me with the news (once again, they're pretty great people). All in all, buy this SVD if you are currently wanting to take the role of a Russian sniper. You'll look great and feel like you're the most powerful player on the field with this gun!

"Update to my previous review.

At the time of my first review, I had only had the gun for a few days and hadn't even skirmished with it, in addition to being a noob at the time.

From the beginning, I had double feeding issue, and an issue where it would not fire every few rounds, in addition to making a very loud sound occasionally when fired that sounded like something slamming against something else. However, at the time, the gun fired most of the time, so I ignored these issues.

After about a month, the weapon began to fail even more, hardly firing 50% of the time, but being a noob and using black bb's, I did not notice even though I was getting no kills (Which I attributed to being a noob).

The hop up is nigh impossible to get to, so accuracy was skewed, but it did shoot hard and accurately when it actually did not double fire or misfire.

I stopped using it when I got a tri shot airsoft gun.

I used it again about a week ago, and it would not fire 90% of the time. I just wanted to test it out. When I brought it back inside, the stock fell off. Both the stock receiver on the gun and the stock had broken.

I do not know if I got a specifically bad gun, though this is likely because it had problems immediately. But just based off of my gun specifically, I have to give it two stars.
