"So for those who are having issues mounting this to their ARES SCAR or pretty much any rifle with a solid pic rail here's something to be mindful of.

My model, like many here, would not mount to my ARES SCAR out of the box. Upon closer inspection I discovered some casting flash on the body of the launcher mount where it interfaces with the pic rail which was preventing the EGLM from fully mounting to my SCAR.

I hammered the flashing down gently with a brass hobby mallet. You can find these at harbor freight. Don't go too crazy because cast parts like to crack when struck with large mallets. You want a small mallet with a head the size of your thumbnail. Gently, like gentle tapping gently, flatten the casting flash. You'll see it. It's sharp so don't try to flatten it by hand. Some black paint may flake off during this process but no big deal as it's hidden when installed.

You'll also need a precision screw driver kit to adjust the tension on the mount. This is done with the latches closed. Backing the screw out creates more tension while threading it in loosens it.

I was able to mount my Matrix EGLM after removing the left over casting flash and adjusting the latches.

I had to do this with the extended trigger removed, once I had it fitted I was able to remove it and refit with the trigger assembly to the launcher. I had to use a rotating motion while closing the latches to get them to hook correctly on the pic rail on the ARES SCAR. As I don't intend to ever remove this launcher I decided to back the adjustment screws out further until the latches could not be opened by hand and I sealed the heads off with blue locktite. This solution is reversible if I need to access the internals of the gun later on down the road.

Installed it's rock solid.

People complaining about the plastic not matching the color of the rifle, a note. Real SCARs are a combination of different shades of FDE. The ARES SCAR coupled with the Matrix ELGM is a better match of various tans than the real SCAR is.

The difference in shades is a feature not a bug as it serves to break up the rifle's outline at distance and act as a sort of natural camouflage. At one point the receivers of different lots were also anodized in different shades of tan to gold as well in order to make each gun a close, but unique, color scheme so it would mesh with the colors of other rifles in a unit to produce a greater disruption effect.

This feature at one point was touted by FN as a selling point of the rifle during it's developmental phase. Back when the SCAR still had a SAW pistol grip.

So please keep that in mind when you down the tan parts on any SCAR for not matching.

This replica ships with a metal rifled barrel which is accurate to the real deal. It comes standard with two trigger group assemblies one for the heavy SCAR and one for the light. While initially I was confused and thought my unit was defective due to it not mounting I'm happy I didn't just opt to return it and instead worked through the problems to find a solution and get it mounted. I'm impressed and very happy with my purchase and I would recommend this launcher to anyone with a SCAR.

"For those wondering if it fits on the TM SCAR i can confirm that it does!

"Great attachment for any Scar-L or Scar-H build. It fits great on my Cybergun Scar-L and fits on relatively easy. However, exercise caution upon attachment, as it is a tad bit more finnicky than a standard M203.

"the only reason this has bad reviews are from people trying to use it on a non-scar platform

"This device is fantastic, and I use it to launch Nerf Vortex rockets at the largest paintball scenario game on the East coast as well as in airsoft games. Mounting it on rail systems that are not on a SCAR airsoft rifle is a bit tricky, but it works without the magwell extension too. I've owned one for years and it has never failed me. I'm looking into getting a couple more for my team.

"This is a great launcher if you have one of the VFC series SCARs. (I've heard rumors that there are some compatibility issues with the Classic Army series.)

However, I would like to state that the reason the price for this on other sites is $200+ because they are the standalone versions (with the frame, sight, and third trigger group), while they typically run this version for about $125.

All and all, though, a very good launcher and well worth the money.

"Overall quality is impressive. Improvement over my old m203 for sure. Feels a lot sturdier, more comfortable grip, and fits the evike multi shot shells as well as taginn co2 shells.

My only gripe so far is the mounting system. I had to put some spacers between my mlok rail section and the handguard on my mcx for it to be the appropriate hight for the QD mount to grab the rail. Wouldn't fit on my KAC style quadrail on my m4, so that will require further investigation.

Pros:
-Solid construction
-Ergonomic
-Style points
-Ability to be used with or without magwell guard

Cons:
-Heavier than m203 counterpart
-Might require modifications to mount to non SCAR weapon platforms.
-Bulky

"Hey guys, hope this info helps!

So the material feels pretty smooth, a fine polymer finish with some decent heft due to metal parts such as the barrel. It does come with mounts for the L & H models for your needs. I have a VFC Scar-L that I bought this for. It took a very long time to align it properly on order to insert the launcher, if anyone else found some trouble fitting this unto the rifle, this is how:
Take out the 2nd QD mount and screw with a very small flat head screwdriver. The middle hex key could be taken off just to be safe. Fit it with the 20mm rail on the rifle, make sure its snug (the top of the EGLM will make sure of that due to its design) and press on to the 1st QD mount as the rail gets connected. After that, take the pieces from the 2nd QD mount and reinsert the screws and pieces together (all the while make sure the launcher and rifle are snug and connected.) Some readjustment will be needed regarding tightening, but once its on its good.
Overall its an awesome product, but since its hard to connect, and there's no instructions for it, it proved very difficult. Hope this helps.

"Love the EGLM work great, although it was not designed for my Echo 1 MTC-3 after a bit of modding with a Dremel tool it fits like a glove, with the exception of the mag well.

The only real negative thing about it is it's durable construction gives it a good bit of heft and it down the front of my gun considerably. But all together it's a nice system and is definitely a great tool forshock and awe

"Purchased this EGLM to add a little firepower to my VFC SCAR-L, and it delivers!

Pros-
Trigger assembly for both light and heavy SCARs
Long enough to accommodate lots of different shell types
Rotates outwards for easy loading
Solid construction

Cons-
QD system doesn't mesh exactly with the lower rail, it pulls off if pressure is applied at the proper angle
Requires minor modification to fit perfectly.

Overall a solid purchase, if you don't mind doing a little work to make it perfect!

"Right out of the box this thing looks gorgeous. After fiddling with this EGLM, one realizes that the construction quality is superb, and is more then durable enough for some good old airsoft fun. The trigger mechanism is simple, and works well. The earth-colored plastic matches my WE SCAR perfectly.

However, the MK16 trigger DOES NOT fit my MK16 WE SCAR. In order for this EGLM to fit my WE SCAR, it has to be fitted with the MK17 trigger. I have taken apart and reassembled the gun and the EGLM multiple times to try to get them to play nicely. Nothing I've done so far works. In order to fix it, I might need to shave off about 1/10th of an inch of plastic from the EGLM. If it were not for this, this EGLM would have a solid five stars.

"Not worth the money has issues with fitting the grenade back in place after reload .
