Star SMG / MP7 Type Z-Point Red Dot Sight with QD Low Profile Mount

7 Customer Reviews

"If this is a good clone of the Zeiss Z-Point Reflex Sight then it should be great. Perfect for MP7's. I'd love to know if this will ever be back in stock, if and when it does I'll write a very detailed review on this red dot sight. Webmasters please email me or respond to this saying if and when this will be in stock.

"There's no other Z-Point replica out there but this, so you have to deal with the mediocre build quality. The button is very finicky. It just works as an aesthetic piece more than anything, I wouldn't recommend if you want real usage out of it. If you're doing a Bundeswehr MP7, this sight is a must. I also got a rubber cover for it, which completes the package. Also fits the look on a G36 or AUG.

"Short and simple review!

This is a pretty bad sight, at least it was for me when I got it. The adjustability for the red dot did not work whatsoever and the on/off button was VERY weird and had lots of play. The QD mount makes the sight always sit slightly at an angle on any rail I put it on. Would have been cool to use, but this at least makes a pretty cool prop sight just for looks.

Pros:
Cool looks

Cons:
Didn't adjust for me, QD doesn't work great

"This is the only Zeiss S-Point replica on the market that I know of. So, even if the quality isn't that great, it is a must have for a later G36 variant and if you are reenacting modern Bundeswehr from Afghanistan or Iraq.
It's too bad a correct rubber armor cover isn't available.

Pros: only correct replica I can find

Cons: 1. the power button is extremely sensitive. I can foresee wasting lots of batteries accidentally turning it on.
2. the latch/bracket for attaching it to the rail doesn't lock. You just squeeze it and spring tension holds it in place. You may potentially knock it off if you are crazy in the field. I will probably take it apart eventually and exchange the spring for a stronger one.

"I loved the look of mine, but when I got the unit it had a rattling noise to it but still functioned. I haven't touched it since because I was waiting to complete my gun project (I put it back in the box with the battery out), but now that I am coming close to finishing my project I took it back out to see how it looked on the gun itself, the rattling is gone, but the unit no longer works. I am requesting a return, and I hope that mine was just a defective product because it's a cool little sight and I don't want others to be deterred from it.

Hope others have a better experience (:

"Externally, the sight is a good copy of the Carl Zeiss Z-point but lacks the same luster internally. The adjustments do not actually adjust the sight and even though it operates off a battery, the sight itself -will not operate- in low-light conditions, without light being shined directly into its photocell. In short, you will only see the dot if it is in direct sunlight or strong indoor incandescent lighting. Its brightness depends entirely on how much light is being collected by the photocell.

I do like the fact its appearance completes my MP7, but I'm not at all impressed with the internal build quality of the one I received.

2/5.
