||This is a review for the Echo1 M28 fit test of the (Matrix 500% Power Up CNC Steel Cylinder Set for VSR-10 / M24 / M28 Sniper Rifles)
I must say was very sceptical at first in buying this 500% upgrade cylinder for my Echo1 M28 and i just got it today. It is a direct replacement drop in cylinder. For all you people with an M28 that need a great metal cylinder set BUY IT. Although i must say if you feel your an average size person like myself. I wouldn't suggest the 500% upgrade kit. Take a step back and take a look at the 100% or 300% set. The 500% power spring supplied with the kit is very, very stiff and is amazingly hard to pull back. Also even if you get the 100%-300%-500% kit I strongly recommend you pick up a set of either PDI or Angel Custom Sear set for the VSR-10 as they are alot stronger sears than stock and drop right into the gun. Although with the stock piston in my gun it slam fired all the time. However the catch on the blue piston is angled alot better and with the stock sears the new piston made the gun stop slam firing. I guess the stock sears weren't that bad after all. It was the stock piston.(at least in my gun)
Cylinder- is a direct replacement, actually better than stock as its a tighter fit to the upper reciever of the M28 and reduces play from side to side.
Piston- Very nice quality fit piston and works flawlessly.
Spring guide- very nice and strong however the nub on the back is a little bit bigger than stock. So the bolt catch won't go in easily. Just give the bolt catch a small hit and should pop in. (It won't break so don't worry.)
Spring- Could be good or bad but the 500% upgrade spring is so hard to pull back i had actually gotten a headache trying to pull it back. Take a look at 100% and 300% kit before the 500% kit.
I hope this helps every Echo1 M28 owner who has looked at this cylinder set. I will try and get ahold of some owners of the other guns that this set is listed to fit and see if this set will work and will post again when i find out.
Thanks and Happy Airsofting
