||This is a GREAT rifle. If you like Magpul products then this is the gun to get! Awesome feel, weight, rate of fire, accuracy and looks.
I replaced the site with an Eotech clone. I also replaced the gas block (with a G&P rail) so that the M16 style front sight no longer sticks up into the view through my '552'. I added a Magpul sling mount plate between the receiver and stock for use with my Condor single-point bungee sling. They didn't ship the battery with the gun, but when I notified them , I soon had a battery shipped out to me. It fits inside the MOE hand guard, so the PEQ box is not needed. Addeed Magpul B.A.D. lever for looks (the bolt catch is cosmetic only- not functional).I put a Magpul AFG on it. but at 6'4" My reach is qutie a bit longer than this rifle, so i am going back to the vertical grip it came with, which is pretty solid. I have a G&P Quick-Insert Tactical Magwell, but have not put it on yet - needs some dremel work to fit. A Gemtech quick-detatch mock supressor completed the set. I painted the Gemtech flash hider orange as they are very strict around here about that sort of thing, and leave the supressor off. When I get out in the field/tourney, etc. then I add the supressor to hide the orange.
Now for the little stuff:
_It did NOT come with a "removeable carry handle"
_The stock wobbles. I tried electrical tape but still wobbles ( not annoying enought to replace it though. I guess I like the way it looks and works more than I disliek the wobble!)
_As I mentioned before: they forgot the battery (but replaced it when told)
_The PEQ box is cheap and is black. If it were at least dark earth to match the rest of the rifle that would be nice. I'll probly use on of those $60-80 PEQ boxes with working light and laser...
_The flash hider it comes with is plastic. Mine was cracked before I got it. If you are not going to replace it for use with a supressor anyways, then I recommend replacing it with a metal one.
_No charger, but then most guns come with a pretty cheap charger anyway. GO with a smart charger!
_the Magpul magazine it comes with does not release from the gun by itself, I have to press the release then pull it out. Other Mags I've tried work smoother.
As I said; "little stuff", I still love this rifle and am planning on using it for a long time. The two things I would still love to do is to get the bolt catch to actually work and install an ambidextrous magazine release.
Wow; I've put way too much money into this gun! But Dang its worth it. I handed it to a friend who is a gun dealer (with the supressor on to hide the orange tip) and he thought it was realsteel!
