"I would definitely recommend buying this rifle. This rifle-$380, Prometheus Tight-Bore Inner Barrel-$62, and an Intellect 9.6V 4200-$75. And for $517 you have probably the best DMR on the field.

"I had the proto model, which just had an ebr socom front end. But on with the gun. The whole thing is great, solid build.

Here is the one issue i had, magazines. The magazine that came with the gun fed flawless. I bought ten g&p mid caps, and 5 mag brand mid caps. They didnt feed at all, or barely fed. The best mags were actually the matrix 470 round high caps. But they all have the problem of staying in the gun. The issue is the front lip on the mags is too long. You have to file them down a bit at a time as your test fitting. To test fit, just try and take the mag out by pulling it out towards yourself without using the mag release. Then they all stay in the gun.

All in all it was great gun. Id recommend it any day, just because im a g&p fan.

"I have had this gun for about 2 years now and it is definitely a performer, although a PAIN to upgrade into a DMR. Bad FPS consistency and bad hop up consistency although this is fixable through upgrades. If using this as a base gun for a DMR be prepared to sink a lot if cash into v7 specific upgrades. An M4 would be cheaper, but no where near as cool. -Acorn, MTAC Airsofts Designated Marksman

Cons
The bottom rail ripped off of my m14

"I have only been able to play one day with this gun will update later after i have more games under my belt with it but i feel i got a strong grip on the future of this rifle.

Pros:
Excellent ROF with a 9.6v NI-MH battery, the look on peoples faces when they see such a long sniper esque looking gun spraying is priceless
Chrono'd in at a steady 375-390 with .20
Feels sturdy (however some parts clearly aren't)
The look of this gun once you put on the included flash hider is god tier.
Accuracy is solid but i will definitely be putting in a tight bore because of some flyers
Bolt noise is god like

Cons:
I feel as they kinda dropped the ball on the outer functional cosmetics of the gun, one 5 hour day with the gun and the bolt is already not sliding as well as it should may be a lube problem i don't know, two more things i noticed in this department is my mode selector switch fell right off.. it appears something was supposed to be screwed in to hold it but it is missing. Nothing glue wont fix but still disappointing. The safety also feels flimsy.

Does weigh abit but if you can read you will know already.

All in all i love this gun just minor things bring this gun down a notch

"I have had this fun for a few months now and have not installed any mods

Pros:
Range with .28s and hop up its great
Accuracy again .28 and tight bore
Good trigger response
With a NiMH 9.6 I get extremy high ROF
Awsome bolt sound

cool black flash hider included
Con's:
heavy but its an m14 so its expected
Just recently semi auto maric broke Idk how but it only goes 3-5 round burst and full auto

I would recommend this gun its great and it on sale

"When i first got this gun it was amazing. It was the best gun i had ever owned. but after about the 5th or 6th war i used it in the gearbox basically just fell apart. I recommend not using a lipo in this gun. even though they recommend it, I would ude a normal 8.4 volt just to be safe.

"Ok i wanna start out by saying that this gun is great actually better than great as far as internals and straight out of the box performance. the only reason I'm giving 4 stars on the rating is because i originally ordered the Full length Socom M14 in October as a pre order for November and once December was here it was pushed into January i then cancelled my order and reordered this M14 recon version. After receiving it the next day i went out to the field and after a few shots the simi-auto stopped working and soon after that the selector switch fell off and was lost. now as im getting ready to box it up and send it back to evike, I had it leaning up against the wall and it fell over and the front bracket broke causing the upper and lower parts of the rifle to separate. in my eyes thats just a cheap part that G&P should and im sure know about. I'm just frustrated cause of the wait to finally receive my rifle and it being faulty. I hope it's just mine cause i really think it's great. It chronoed at 375 fps, 20 rps with a 9.6v battery and 25g BBs. very Impressive! also there is nothing besides the inner barrel that you would need to upgrade until that is needed from normal use. the stock barrel has good distance and accuracy. Evike has always in my opinon had great customer service so i know it will be fixed or replaced as soon as possible. so in saying all that i do not regret purchasing this rifle and wish i didn't have to send it back.

Pros :
Great Fps, Rof and Range
Very smooth and pretty quiet gear box
Impressive looking and intimidating
It's a beast! I wouldn't mind owning a couple

Cons :
heavy for smaller players
it's been a little picky with mags ( i ordered G&P midcaps and for some reason they wouldn't stay in place, didn't fit properly ) maybe i was sent the wrong mags, who knows
cheep front receiver bracket, it broke way to easy
hopefully the selector switch and the simi-auto not working is just a one time thing and not a problem for anyone else. after receiving it simply make sure the selector switch is screwed on properly and it shouldn't fall off.

"I got this gun a few weeks ago and it was good for about two mags and then the gun stops feeding. Bbs go into the hop up but don’t fire out of the gun.

"I had only heard good things about this gun and I was very impressed with the ROF I don't have it tested but maybe 23rps also the external quality is amazing. The cons are after 2 months or so semi auto broke for me that was terrible because I only used semi. The stock is so big the battery makes alot of noise. Also its very heavy (a pro for me) I'd get it but be prepared to fix it

"When I got this gun and took it out of the package it was probably one of the nicest guns i have ever held. (keep in mind i own both a 416 and a 417). It felt solid and looked amazing. However when i went to shoot the gun i noticed the BBs had the tendency to dive mid-flight. No problem just turn the hop up right? Wrong. No matter which way i turned the hop up, the BBs still dove. Upon closer inspection i noticed that the front sling point was missing and the right-side rail was missing a screw and loose. I'm not sure if I just got the bad egg in the bunch or what but i was a little disappointed.
PROS:
-The gun felt and sounded amazing (too bad it was defective)
- I like the fact that it came with a real M14 style flash hider
- HUGE battery compartment to fit almost any battery
CONS:
-Defective hop-up
-broken side rail

"I bought this gun a little while back and have had my eye on it for a couple years. I finally decided to pull the trigger on purchasing it and it was very disapointing. Right out of the box the was no manual included so I had to basically figure out all the ways to install the battery, adjust hop up, etc. While I did not struggle too much with this, it is unacceptable to offer a product like this with no sort of reference. After figuring everything out on my own I charged the battery and went to shoot it. while it definitely did shoot something just felt off. A couple weeks when I took it to its first game I figured out what that something was. My rifle was shooting at just over 300 fps with a .2 gram bb, 100 fps less than advertised. After I called evike a couple days later and was given the run a round on a couple things they wanted me to do and check. Not having a chrono myself I had to wait another week to take it back to my local airsoft store to rechrono and check. I called evike agaib and now they were saying that they had a bad batch at the store and that they wouldnt even let me send it back for an exchange or for them to repair it. I currently have it being fixed up at my local shop but what a waste this has been for something I have wanted for so long. I have a few other gripes with the gun as well but nothing compares to the nightmare I just wrote was. Both G&P AND Evike dropped the ball on this one and it was pretty unacceptable.

"OK when I got the gun I was amazed on how well it shot I mean it has a great rate of fire and insane range people don't know there even in range when u get them but the only reason I had to give this gun two stars is because of one giant flaw the trigger assembly it will not like grab the switch to fire my techs at dv8 have had to literally tried to fix it 8 times because the guns assembly is loose the tried to file it down to tighten it up buy when u pull the trigger it slips and doesn't grab this isn't just my problem because they have already had this problem with two other guys same gun but besides that it's great if you want to be manoverable it's kinda heavy but I really would love the gun if the trigger was fixed and everything but shipping was all good and good service from evike this gun deserves 5 stars if the trigger was a little better made

"Nothing but problems with this rifle. Came with two MAJOR factory QC issues. First, the entire inner barrel was installed improperly. It was placed too deep inside, and because of this, the hop up unit did not engage at all and my brand new gun was spitting BBs 50 feet. As someone who was new to the sport, I did not notice this until I started playing competitively at longer ranges. The other issue was that the cutoff lever tooth that engages with the sector was completely worn down, and the gun was stuck shooting full-auto. It came this way from the factory, and I just dealt with this issue until I started playing at a field that only allows semi-auto. However, since replacing the cutoff lever and successfully getting it to fire semi-auto, the hop up no longer seems to be working properly. It's inconsistent, starts off spitting BBs, behaves normally after a few dozen shots, and then will somtimes start over-hopping and sending BBs to the moon. I have disassembled and cleaned the barrel and unit, but nothing seems to work. So frustrated with this gun. It was relatively expensive, but I've already spent to much time tinkering with it and trying to get it to work properly that I think it's time to ditch and buy something new. However, rest assured that my new gun will not be a G&P product!

"I thought this rifle would be good, but, It was horrendous. For 250 dollars a gun from walmart performs better.

Pros - None

Cons -

Packaging was broken and nothing to hold gun in box.
Hop up came broken
Front end broke off
Plastic is horrible and thin
Shoots only 50 feet

Did I mention I just got this today?
