"I give this 4 stars because the pistol was good..... for about 1 month and then the hammer wouldn't respond to the trigger, and I only used it twice in two weekends, probably my fault for using it on full auto to much. There are no available parts because of it being a compact. So now I have a broken gun that I can't fix. "I got this pistol and at first I was really excited. I have had it less than a month and it has stopped working. I don't believe I have mistreated it. The hammer no longer responds to the trigger being pulled. The gun itself was fun while it lasted. The box came with the gun, some pieces, back straps, and a manual. When I took it out of the box there were little white pieces that could be placed into the sights and the number plate had to be pushed into place. The blow back was good. The accuracy was also good. The full-auto was not super fast but not slow either. The only safety on the gun was removing the magazine, ironic that it says on the gun that it is capable of firing with the magazine removed. The magazine lasted about two weeks before the o-ring started to fail and would let gas spill when filling. The capacity of magazine was about 15 rounds. I could not find a way to use a speed loader to load the style of magazine the gun took. So in conclusion it was a neat little gun to have but may not be the exact fit for you. "The way I would appraise this pistol is "good but not great."
I agree with the other reviewers is that it's built solidly. The slide is a thing of beauty, with engraved M&P and Smith and Wesson trades etched into the metal. It feels good in your hand. They've gone out of their way to accommodate different sized hands by including a variety of grip sizes that are easily interchangeable. The magazines are well built too.
Where I started having issues, though, is that when I racked back the slide and then depressed the slide stop, it did not immediately release the slide. It took me a while to get the slide stop to release, and it's even more difficult when you're wearing gloves. The second challenge is that when you go to load the green gas, the valve on the under side of the magazine is in a recessed area, so the stem of the green gas container is difficult to engage in the valve. It's much more difficult to load than my KWA M9 mags.
While it shoots nicely - I haven't chrono'ed it yet - the trigger pull feels a little bit "plasticky," It's not as crisp of a trigger pull as my KWA M9. It reminded me of shooting my KWA H&K SOCOM, which also had that same "plasticky" feel to it. And when you're exchanging in a new mag when the slide is locked to the rear, the slide seems to automatically release once the new mag is inserted without having to depress the slide stop. I'm not sure if this is by design or not. I'm not a fan because I want to be able to control when the slide is released.
Again, the slide is truly beautiful, so I was confused to have to insert these cheap plastic cylindrical dots into the front and rear sights.
Overall, I have a lot of respect for VFC's products. I own an H&K M27 PolarStar that is just amazing, built like a tank. Their M&P 9c is, again, good but not great. "First of all, the review dated 7/31/13 is 100% accurate. I received my Smith & Wesson M&P 9C GBB pistol on 4/7/14. This airsoft pistol was incredibly accurate right out of the box. It has good heft to it and a hard blow back on semi-auto. I switched to full auto and I was impressed. Amazing kick on such a small airsoft pistol. This airsoft pistol is very easy to field strip and has a very easy adjustable hop-up. VFC did an awesome job on the detail of this compact. I don't care for the sights, they should have been factory painted instead of me installing a white pin in the pre-drilled hole, but other than that I would give this a 5 out of 5 on cosmetics and performance. I'm very pleased and as usual, evike processed and shipped quickly. Purchase this airsoft pistol today. You won't be disappointed !!! "Review of The Cybergun VFC M&P Compact
First Impressions: When I first received this gun, the first thing I noticed was the sharp looking cardboard box. It didn’t have any flashing or shiny patterns, but instead a standard and mature cardboard finish. Upon opening up the box, there was the usual safety warnings about not shooting babies and not shooting your self in the eye. There was no “exploded” view parts diagram but instead a very detailed instruction manual on the gun of how to perform basic operations. In the box there were also two grips, one small and one large that are both easy to install on the gun. The gun itself came with the medium size grip pre installed. In the box there was also a unique serial number that snaps into place on to the gun. My serial number is “STA1964”. Their were minor oil stains on the slide of the pistol indicating that it had come ready to shoot.
External Appearance: The externals on this gun are absolutely amazing. The slide is a very high quality and made by VFC. The slide and body are also fully trade marked by Smith & Wesson. The lower part of the body has a very sturdy polymer frame (like the real steel version). The hand grip is very textured and has a rubber finish to it. The red tip on the gun simply unscrews counter clockwise with very little force. The sights are all black but in the box is the included glow-in-the-dark inserts with a white outline making this gun have night and day sights which are very bright. The barrel on this gun is also high quality metal. Overall, the external appearance is very very high quality.
Performance: I took this gun out side hoping that it would perform as well as it looked. When I filled the mag up with green gas it was absolutely silent which confused me since I wasn’t sure whether or not it was actually being filled up. The bbs loaded easily in to the guns magazine. When I inserted the mag and fired the gun it made a loud bang. The recoil was crisp and sharp while the bb went flying straight. Each time I fired the gun I felt the same crisp and sharp recoil action. This was awesome. I have never ever felt a gas pistol have this much recoil. This by far beats any KWA, Tokyo Marui, KJW and WE gun in terms of recoil. About 5 mags later I decided to try full auto. The gun shot at such a fast speed and the recoil was so crisp. It was once again, absolutely amazing. I went through even more mags and bbs until I finally stopped. My arm was starting to get sore from fighting this guns recoil. The gas efficiency is to par with KWA. This gun is awesome!
Looks: 10/10 No questions asked this is by far one of the best looking gbbs on the market. The S&W trade marks and VFC externals is the reason this gun looks amazing.
Build Quality: 10/10 This gun has extremely durable and feels like heaven to hold.
Recoil: 9/10 This gun is so much fun to shoot. The only downside is that the storng recoil takes away some accuracy. The recoil is crisp and sharp.
Accuracy: 8/10 The accuracy is questionable since the recoil is so strong that it minorly affects it.
Chrono: 285 – 296 FPS W/ .20g
Performance: 9/10 The gas efficiency is very good and so is the magazine capacity. The gun doesn’t leak gas and is easy to load.
Overall Rating: 9.5/10 The gun totally shocked me. This is the very first time I have written a review this long and that is because this is the very first time that I have been this impressed by a gun right out of the box. I have had many other top-of-the-line AEGs and GBBs but none of them made me be this impressed right out of the box. My other GBB is a very highly upgraded Tokyo Marui G17 (I’ve spent about $300-$400 on it) and yet this gun till matches up to it for its external appearance. I highly recommend this gin to ANY one wheather or not this is their first or 10th GBB pistol. "Anyone looking for magazines for the VFC S&W M&P 0C Pistol you can go to Redwolf Airsoft. That's where I found them and bought 10. Displaying
