"Retention for 2 mags is great. However, if you just want to run one mag on the outer half of the elastic divider, you lose your retention (using M4 mags).

Pros:
-Retains well using 2 mags in each pouch
-MOLLE attachment much easier to use and does not come apart if fastened properly

Cons:
-Optional cover tabs are difficult to work with. If you choose to run open-top, it's a step back from the standard velcro pouches, because these flaps require you to re-secure the tab to the front of the pouch or else the elastic band will flop around all over, whereas other velcro pouches, you can just tap the cover closed and it will stick. Highly recommend running open-top
-If you choose to run open-top, you almost must have a dup pouch. If mags are pulled from the outside-in, you will have no problem, but it's difficult to 1.) reinsert magazine into a pouch with one magazine in there already, and 2.) retain only a single mag in the main compartment. Thus, THESE ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR RETENTION RELOADS WITHOUT A SEPARATE DUMP POUCH

"This pouch is great. It's very versatile and can fit a variety of mags.

Pros

Can fit up to:
Two G36 mags
Four M4 mags (I've tried with E-Mags and Stanags, works for both)
Four AK mags (I used SR47 mags, but there the same shape)
I believe eight MP5 mags, but definitely at least four
Two Thunder B grenades
The elastic tabs are removable for those that they're annoying. I usually take the tabs off of my mag pouches, but these tabs were very easy to take off, so I kept them on.

Cons
MOLLEing it on is a little weird because of it having hard tabs instead of buttons, but it's actually really secure once you figure it out.
