"Well I knew I‘d enjoy this thing but.. sheesh!! This is one bada** replica. I had to buy another one.

Very realistic offers great simulation of the 5.56/.223 AR-15. If you’re someone whose already familiar with the AR15 platform you’ll be impressed. If not, this is a fantastic learning platform. 10/10

MORE INDEPTH REVIEW:

If you're looking for a gas blow back rifle that will work like charm and do everything you want or need, this is the piece for you. I run propane and matrix BBs and have yet to have a misfeed, double feed or jam of any kind. So far I haven't touched the hop up or modded it in any way and it's spinning like a top. The trigger is crisp and the reset is out of this world sharp and snaps into engagement. The machining is precise and came with zero manufacture defects. All in all, its a great piece and worth every penny. I have a lot of experience with WE and Evike and both are companies I trust to sell me a good product. It gets compliments left and right and competes strongly with the modded out AEGs people spent twice as much on.

NO. This airsoft gun is a replica of a gun from the 1960s so you wont have any of that speed tac mumbo jumbo like top rails for your eotech or forward rails for a mini vert grip. The XM177 is the perfect choice for someone who is serious and wants to work on real fundamentals during mil sim or the hard dude who's load out is an H harness and an OD bandana. (Platoon reference anyone?)

The first thing you want to do when you open the box is read WE's manual, field strip it and use silicone lube to lube all your sliding parts/gas valves and grease any meeting parts (where "bolt" meets buffer etc.). Use good silicone lube. Evike has great lube for a great price highly recommended. This airsoft gun definitely requires maintenance, more maintenance then any AEG. But, just like anything of quality, if you treat it with care it'll last. Quality spare parts and upgrades are sold right here at Evike to ensure longevity, convenience and can make this great piece perform even better.

The Evike Team is very helpful, operators, tech team, and especially their outpost employees. They can, and will be happy to answer any questions you might have.

10/10 will probably buy another

"The XM177 has always been one of my favorite AR type rifles.

This gun has great build quality with no front end wobble and a very acceptable amount of play in the stock.

It shoots hard, has a great kick, and has been reliable for me, although I am only a target shooter

The 20 round magazine is/was leak free. This gun also works with the 30 round magazines with no problems.

The gun is very easy to service and clean

I would VERY SERIOUSLY recommend--BEFORE TAKING YOUR FIRST SHOT--to add some shims to the bolt catch so that it has no side to side play, but still pivots freely. Also, grind down the bolt catch so that it has greater travel. While the bolt catch is out, apply some JB weld or similar material to the area where the little lifter in the magazine makes contact--about a millimeter or so. Search google/youtube for easy directions on these mods. These mods will not only make the bolt catch work more reliably, but it will extend its life.

The gun comes with a barrel wrench.

"Let start by saying I am a big fan of Vietnam era weapons so when I laid eyes on this I squealed with delight in the splendor of how close in detail this is to an actual XM177. The recoil is solid(not real steel .223/ 5.56 solid but still a joy). I have owned this gun over a years time and it still shoots like a dream (I target practice in the backyard often, no wargames yet). The construction is very solid minus my model having a very slight bit of wobble between receivers(don't know if they all have it) but it feels stable and has lasted through a couple drops on a stone floor and a came back swinging. If you are a Vietnam era fan or just want a solid realism out of your airsoft gun I highly recommend this. 5 out of 5 all the way!

Pros:
Solid metal construction
20 rnd mag for realism
Blowback and felt recoil
Accurate at med-close ranges

Cons:
20 rnd mag(lowcap)
30 rnd mags do not feed in this properly(at least not in mine)

"This is definitely a good purchase. As I have shot the real M16 (not an AR15) I can tell you the recoil is almost identical. Out of the box the gun is lighter then I expected, as i forgot how small they are, but it is true to the real XM177 E2. I received it today and have already put almost 500 rounds through it without any issues using Matrix .30's what so ever. It is amazingly accurate (as it has an M4 length inner barrel) and anyone could easily use this in the field without getting fatigued. Even though it was a little bit colder (about 50-60) it functioned flawlessly even on full auto. I highly recommend extra magazines because this GBBR has an amazing rate of fire. Definitely five stars in my book.

"Just received this yesterday actually.

I've been eyeing this rifle for some time and was really excited to receive it.

I was really let down. After unboxing, I checked the chamber as always, charged if a few times and did a few dry fires. The BCG was bone dry. When I first picked this up, I honestly thought I was mailed an AEG not a GBBR, it's THAT light. The finish seems a bit cheap. The magazine feels the same as the rest of the rifle, light and cheap. I put a few mags worth through the rifle, and was happy with the performance though actually. The action was consistent. The trigger response is nice, very snappy. Because of how light the frame is the recoil is strong. The ROF on Automatic is just ridiculously fast.

But the rifle is accurate out of the box, without being modded or broken in.

Granted this is my first experience with a We-Tech GBBR. Most of my experience is with G&P GBBRs, which I think are more of an accurate representation of the AR platform. I own a few We-Tech pistols and am very happy with them. I expected the same from this GBBR, and was let down. But, if I was given the choice to field a G& P GBBR or this rifle, I'd go with the We-Tech. Seems like out of the box, you're good to good. No breaking in, no tweaking.

Pros:
Trigger response
Scope mount is correct
Nice recoil,( once again, very light frame)
Very compact, good for shorter shooters
Able to take it out of the box to the field

Cons:
VERY light
Cheap feeling and looking finish
Shipped bone dry, need the lube!
Should have been shipped with the correct muzzle break. Came with a birdcage break
Over priced a bit for what you get
Due to the barrel, you can't mount a M203
The dust cover is REALLY sensitive. You look at it the wrong way, it'll pop open

Overall, I think this is a good buy for a GBBR. For me, Because of the above, I give it 3 stars
