G&P M16A3 Airsoft AEG Rifle (Color: Black / Gun Only)

"I just received this gun today! so far everything i expected from G&P is good quality! everything about this rifle is your standard G&P functions very light weight and sturdy. two minor problem was the mag release at first but and i t needed was just to be broken in and works fine! the other was the pistol grip and the hand guard just a few mm off but it still works. i was expecting a tan magazine but i received a black one witch is what i needed anyway no biggie. i was also very very happy to receive a metal flash hider included with the rifle! thanks to G&P and evike! now to turn it into a magpul battle rifle! i rate this 4 stars!

"So I purchased the g&p m16 a3 to compare with other competing brands of m16a3s.

Boxing.
Just a regular cardboard box with the g&p logo and a sticker on the side that verifies that yes, this is a tan m16a3. It's wrapped in many layers of bubble wrap. This gun is not going to get damaged during shipping. It comes with a very bare bones package. Just the gun, midcap, a manual and a black 14mm positive flahhider.

Initial impressions
I heard many stories of G&Ps being one of the greatest brand ever but i was disappointed. The handguards weren't molded well, they flexed with little pressure,the paint job on the buttplate was mediocre at best, my charging handle kept getting jammed and stuck and there was no functioning bolt assist. Remember that this is a 280 dollar gun and you'd expect that they can get the little things right. However there was some things I liked. The finish on the gun was superb. You can feel the texture of the paint on the recivers and it's a very nice matte tan. The color difference is barely noticeable between the metal and polymer components (unlike what the picute shows). The aluminum recievers are light and the trademarks are engraved very nicely with things like "cal 5.98mm" and an individual serial number. Also a very cool thing that g&p did (which lead me to buying this gun) is the 416 style selector markings engraved. I absolutely LOVED how easy it was for me to remove the orange flashhider. All it took was a wrench and a twist counterclockwise and it popped off. The warning sticker on the lower didn't leave any of that sticker gunk like the G&G Top Techs and the KWAs. The mag feeds really well and has a high quality feel to it

Performence
G&p has short stroked the guns out of the box (14 tooth piston) which coupled with the g&p m120 motor and a large type 9.6 gave a blistering rate of fire. I have yet to chono it but it sounds promising. FPS should be sitting around 390 fps with .2g. Trigger response left a lot to be desired but the gun does have a high speed motor so I can't ask for much more

Conclusion.
I personally wouldn't let the little details bother me too much as they are simple fixes but some people want a perfect gun out of the box while others like modification. Is this your type of gun?

"Nice gun overall, amazing Rate of fire, constructed very well.

Only con's are the magazines, 130 rd mid-caps. I tried using mine and it wouldn't work, the bb's got jammed in it or something. This is probably because I didn't use silicon spray.

"Overall its a great gun. Very solid all around, had one issue with the piston basically disintegrating on me but other than that has an excellent rate of fire and the fps has been very consistent at right under 400. I have been using an 11.1 lipo on it so that may have contributed to the fairly quick destruction of the piston. All in all I have no egrets buying this rifle.

"The Good:
Excellent materials.
High rate of fire with a 9.6v battery.
Large battery compartment(fits a Matrix 9.6v 4000mah).
Good accuracy, although it needs a heavy BB, 0.25g and over. My 0.23g BBs don`t cut it.

The Details:
Has a large type battery connector.
Dust cover WILL NOT close. Definitely not a defect, it was designed that way.
Flash hider is plastic(not a con, just stating it).
The magazine it comes with is very nice.

The Bad:
Slight wobble between the upper and lower on mine. Not much at all, but it is noticeable.
It shoots between 424 and 450 with a 0.2g BB. And that`s after a week of light to medium use. I used it in a game a day before I chronod it, and got those numbers. The FPS is way too hot for my local fields.


Conclusion:
A great rifle out of the box if you have different FPS restrictions than I do. I highly recommend it. The only reasons I give it 4/5 is 1: 5 is perfect, and few things in this world are perfect. 2: No metal flash hider. 3: High FPS.

"Ive always considered g&p as top notch airsoft equipment. I have alot of stuff by them that work perfectly without any complaints. But when i recieved this rifle i was dissapointed by 2 things one was the screw for the orange tip was melted in awkwardly so i had to break off the orange tip ( thus voiding warranty) but that was ok i like the gun (havent shot it yet which was a dumb mistake by me) but when i went to go shoot it it sprayed all over and when i put in a new mag the bbs would roll out. I took it apart to find that the hop up wasnt put in correctly, more like not at all cause when i was pulling the barrel /hop up assembly out of the gun the hop up just slid off the inner barrel. After i fixed that. Everything is great the range and accuracy is amazing. I just feel that a 300 dollar gun should have no flaws. And for that reason i give 3 stars otherwise i would have given 5
