"Bought this M14 Scout about a year ago, and it hasn't failed me yet. Shoots stock at around 380, so it's decent FPS, but I would personally get a stronger spring and motor for it through just to start slinging the plastic a little harder. One great thing about CYMA, are internals are really durable. And once you get a 9.6 it'll jack the ROF up.

Pros: Lightweight, which is always a plus, unless you want mil-sim type AEG
ROF and FPS is decent,
Comfortable "full-rifle" body,
Easy to reload if your a lefty
Goggles won't get in the way of you sights because of the stock styling.

Con's: Rather delicate plastic body,
Very awkward rail placement, its way to far forward
The fake charging handle broke on mine.
You need a very small hex screw driver if you want to disassemble it.
Version 7 gear box's are annoying and can be difficult to find upgrade parts.

My personally recommendation, First you need a 9.6 so get that when you order the AEG, then you want to get a better spring and motor and get your FPS up, to at least a steady 400. Also, if want to add a rail system, evike sells a lot of options, full rails covers that cover the top bottom and the sides of your m14, just beware you'll add A LOT of weight to the AEG, and then they sell a smaller rail which go right above the ejection port which is what I have. Just make sure if you buy a scope you one with 'long eye relief', or you'll have to choke up on your AEG. Then maybe a tightbore barrel and you'll have very mean machine.

"I haven't had the gun for long, but first impressions are great! The gun looks amazing and is extremely accurate. It outperforms most of the other guns I play against. I just had a couple of disappointments. I saw the size of the stock and made the inaccurate guess that it could handle a large type. The battery compartment is very small, the small type that comes with it even barely fits.

extremely accurate
high FPS
looks sharp
feels realistic, good weight
decent ROF (even with an 8.4V)

small battery compartment
awkward rail placement

If you want a good gun for $185, the M14 is a great place to start.
