I had one of these for over 3 years and never had a problem. However, it was the old-style connector and not the military-standard plug, so I had to buy a new one.
Basically, its hit or miss. The first one I had was great, but the second one broke within 2 months of regular use. I did narrow the problem in mine down though... The headphone jack connector's soldering connections are weak, and with very little force, the inside of it will break. The soldering on these is sub-par, but what would you expect for a U94 PTT that costs 25% of a real one?
For the money, they are good, but if you end up going through a couple, might as well just take the hit and get a real one.
