"I've owned this gun for about 3 years and it has been good too me until recently. The safety switch broke and now it won't shoot

Webmaster: This is a Marui compatible FAMAS, so you can still get it fixed.

"no there is not a drum mag the one at kapowe is a mod to a standard M16 MAG THAT THE DON'T MAKE ANY MORE if you really want a a famas extream hi cap ther is an 800rd side by side mag available as well as a 1000 rd but the don't make famas drum mags sorry

"Wow... Brian... you can't get a C-mag for a FAMAS... Tokyo Marui made the FAMAS to be a light assault weapon, not a LMG... All you can get for this are 90 round low caps and 300 round high caps.

"FOR YOU I WOULD RECOMMEND THE DMR IT A GOD PLATFORM FOT UPGRADES ALLL YOU NEED IS A NEW FRONT SIGHT AND YOU HAVE A SNIPER RIFLE OR A BOX MAG AND YOU HAVE A CREW SERVE MACHINE GUN I LIKE THIS GUN BUT AS AN AIRSOFT TECH I WOULD RATHER HAVE A DMR BECAUSE THEY HAVE GOOD STOCK FIRE POWER AND A VER 2 GEAR BOX

"I don't own one of these but I have the fortunate chance to have a CC Military Surplus near me that sells airsoft equipment and guns, and just happened to have a JP famas and a TM famas side by side when I walked in the other day. In a direct comparison, this famas is ABSOLUTELY better quality and feels a lot less plasticky than the TM one. In any and all cases I would recommend this as it's much better feeling than the TM one and fells a lot more solid; on top of that there is no squeaking from the gun so it's perfectly silent. I'm now judging weather or not to get this, a G3SG1, or an M16DMR.... damn I wish hi-caps for this weren't so much.

"this one is better because it will take version 1 parts and the motor is a standard high rate motor the bipod is great it is very stable i have worked on this gun and the tm gun your better with this one you don't have to upgrade it so you save alot of money

"sorry for asking but is there really a big difference between this famas and the marui one? is this one better or worse? and is the bipod strong or will it just become loose after a few rounds? if anyone can answer these questions i appreceate it.

and has twice the power i bought it and put a rail and a grenade launcher on it i took a rail off an lpeg faman and put it on and i bought a top famas drum

"I got this for my first gun a few years ago and it is a BEAST! I love the ergonomics, range, reliability, and accuracy are amazing! I've used it in every type of weather, Snow to scorch (I live in MN) and it is trucking. I've had not problems, my other guns have had bucking breaks in a year, but this thing didn't break even in the -22 degree F weather. The mag size is a little small, but you just need to do a little Dremel work to make it fit M4 mags. I also like the power adjuster spring thing.
pros
-ergonomic
-accurate
-great range
-can work with M4 mags
-VERY reliable
-price
cons
-mag size small
-battery compartment small
-hopup is wierd

"Bought this as my first gun, and still using it after 3 years! Always unique on the field and fires really well out of the box. Really like the rifle, but there are a few downsides I noticed after some time. Mounting a sight is sort of annoying because of how high your mount is, so if you have a field with a lot of windows, maybe think about something else. The other downside is that you can't really mount a sling properly without buying a real FAMAS sling from either a French surplus military store, or making something yourself. Only other thing is I had a wire pop in my gearbox, but was really easy to solder back on. So one plus side from that, it's super easy to take apart and modify.

"I purchased this gun a few weeks ago and was dissapointed in my purchase for reasons that dont pertain to the gun. Im a 6'4" slender man with gangly arms and large hands, to put it frankly I felt cramped. This gun is more suited towards more condensed players in my opinion. I found that while gripping the pistol grip and trigger I would sometimes hit the mag release and thats kind of annoying. not only that but it did iritate my wrists as I would to ADS. Asside from that the Gun is heavy. 9 pounds of pure bullpup and that is a good thing. IT does not feel flimsy. It feels solid on all sides of it. even the bipod is solid.
lastly and really a minor detail. The sight on the carry handle is a few inches higher then the barrel. add a scope rail and a red dot that already has a riser on it and you are more then 4 inches higher then your barrel. In outdoors its probably not a problem but inside on 100 foot fields with engagement ranges of 50 to 10 feet its hard to take it all into account. you aim at somebody and you shoot the cover you are ducking behind. Its obvious and foolish to mention and you may scoff but then it will happen to you and you will think back to reading this review! all in all its a good solid gun that I suggest for newer players or players that are going to want a smaller gun. Its not super upgrade friendly so maybe not your first AEG project gun.
