"Nice little gun. It is awsome for CQB because of the short length, very enjoyable to use although it is a bit heavy if you try to one hand it lol.

Pros:
short for cqb
decent rate of fire
only $130
durable

Cons:
a bit heavy for length(not much of a problem)
hop up is very sensitive(small adjustment makes huge difference in hop)
shots way to hot for most CQB places(mine chronoed 390 with .20s)-just by a spring to lower the fps
range is lacking but it is perfect for CQB

Overall very nice CQB gun, would not recommend for field use due to very short range.

"This is an ok gun. Get it for the silly form factor, put in a little elbow grease, and it'll work like a charm. Don't get this as your first gun - if you're looking for a starter gun in this price range, there are better ones out there, including from JG.

Package comes with gun, metal picatinny rail (as pictured), 8.4V NiMH battery, and charger.

Externals are solid with one exception (see below). The only metal parts on the gun are the trigger, sights, tip of the outer barrel, and charging handle guide. Everything else is plastic, but the plastic good quality/finish does not feel flimsy at all.

Despite the metal charging handle guide, this gun is not HK-slappable, because the charging handle itself is utter garbage. It's attached internally to a piece of plastic that is way flimsier than the rest of the gun, and the whole mechanism is wobbly and prone to getting stuck. Grease did not fix the problem.

Internally, the gun is 'ok'. All the parts are about what you'd expect in a _$200 gun. The gearbox is solid (as JG is known for) but comes with bushings, oodles of gross grease, and only 0.3mm shims - regrease and reshim highly recommended. No quick-change spring. I also recommend putting PTFE tape around the bucking and cylinder head, as the airseal out of the box is mediocre at best. It got me an immediate 30FPS.

The gearbox is wired to the rear, but the battery compartment is in the front. There's a long extension cord running the length of the gun that includes a fuse (at the rear) and comes out in the battery compartment, which is in the front handguard. This makes it really easy to swap stocks and put the battery in the rear, which you'll be tempted to do because the battery compartiment is EXTREMELY SMALL. It barely fits the provided battery, which you have to put in in a very specific way or it straight up won't fit (read the manual!). If you're not gentle, it will strip insulation and chew up the wiring even if you did everything right.

Overall it's a silly gun and I love mine. After doing the maintenance work mentioned above, pure stock parts give me 330FPS/17RPS. I put a drum mag on it to make the worlds most cursed HK11.

"To start off this review off, I mainly bought this gun for a shell to drop in a Polarstar F2...

Out of the box performance was a little lack luster. It was shooting 220-250fps, roughly 100fps less than advertised. I found the factory cylinder head was not sealing properly and the piston head didn't have a great seal either (easy and cheap repairs to get it shooting at the advertised fps range or higher). There was also grease in the barrel but some rubbing alcohol and cleaning pads took care of that (make sure to disassemble the barrel from the hop up when cleaning as to not damage the bucking). These seem to have just been bad QC issues. The body itself is made of ABS plastic and seems to be durable enough. The sling mount on the back plate kept unthreading. I ended up getting a longer M5-.80 screw, some M6 washers, nylon insert lock nut, and threadlocker to take care of that issue.

Magazine compatibility:
Matrix, TM, King Arms (I've only tested the metal mid-caps so far)

Polarstar Install:
I dropped in an F2 with M4/M16 #1 nozzle with no issues (no modification to the F2 or gearbox itself was needed). I had to file down the selector plate to get the safe function to work properly with the trigger board's selector plate microswitch. I shimmed the trigger as it had a lot of pre-travel. I removed the original battery wiring to the front (had to cut the leads to pull it out). I did not run the FCU cable to the front where the original battery was located as I'll be swapping the original upper, barrel, and stock plate out that came with this gun out for a full size JG T3 upper, barrel, and stock when I want to run it as a DMR (may not even need to use a full length barrel for how accurate and far it is already shooting). I was able to put the FCU in the pistol grip (additionally had to purchase the 7" FCU cable). I made a battery extension cable to run back through the gearbox to where a stock would normally be (250-300mAh batteries will fit in this space). Only other things I upgraded, was to replace the stock bucking and nub. I went to a Maple Leaf super hop up 70 degree bucking and an Angel Custom H hop nub. It shoots so accurately even at range for such a small package.

Hope this helps.

"Good gun overall, but it appears I lucked out and got a defective model. Slightly defective, I should clarify. I love this thing's aesthetics, and I love how compact and light it is for CQB.

Defect: The charging handle and ejection port cover that cover the hop up unit are supposed to move with some degree of friendliness and have a spring that bounces it back into place, if you drop the charging handle from its locked recess. Nope. Mine is absolutely pain to pull back, as in it takes multiple shifts of yanking on the thing, and right from the get go, the spring either isn't in there (someone goofed) or is so mal-placed it can't even return a couple mm of progress on the charging handle. I'm deeply disappointed in JG, but having bought their other hardware, I have to acknowledge I've probably just gotten unlucky.

Should yours be similarly defective, remember that you can press the ejection port cover doodad forward manually using your thumb, since it is a non-slippery polymer. If it doesn't go initially, use some pliers to get it started, but do so carefully, as the cover is indeed polymer.

Pros:
-Extremely small package. I love it.
-Battery storage is actually pretty thought out, convenient, and relatively stealthy.
-Comes with NiMH battery and an okay charger for it. I'd still recommend using your own if you have one.
-Adjustable hopup, 4 position rear sight, and comes with upper and lower aluminum rails.
-Very comfy fire selector, comparable to an M4.
-Nifty hybrid mag release that allows for right index finger button press (a la M4), or a magazine paddle (like an AK). The redundancy is actually kind of nice, should one not be your flavor.
-Awesome aesthetics, and good comfort.
-One of the 4 positions on the rear sight changes from aperture to ghost rings, like a G3 or MP5's sights would. I absolutely love this since I'm more a pistol sights sort of guy.
-High quality, but minimal capacity, JG mag. This is standard fair. Comes with a butterfly winding crank, which is god tier.
-Has metal bits in addition to actual polymer (but not particularly high quality polymer) vs your cheapo ABS most plastic guns use.

Cons:
-Rocking mags in is kinda weird with a straightmag design.
-High cap doesn't load lots of BB's at once before needing winding.
-G3 magazines are a pain in the butt to find. *Do not buy kings arms midcaps*! They will not work in this gun. The tab that engages the magazine catch is too short, and slightly different in shape.
-More polymer than similar or lesser price point JG guns. Not sure why.
-Back iron is a little loose for choosing each of its 4 positions. It'll stay there just barely, but I feel like it might change on accident one day, just once or twice.

by Kyle B. on 10/22/2011
"Overall this is a great gun for small people but not the best for cqb because of the high fps.
Pros:
Awesome ROF
great for kids or small people
Great FPS for outdoors
Full Metal
Nice Wieght

Cons:
Too High FPS for indoor
A little too heavy to one hand

Overall AMAZING GUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"When this gun functions, it functions well. However, the first time I purchased it, the barrel was broken. I had it replaced and the second one's sling cap broke during the first day of use. It also stopped firing shortly afterwards. Maybe if you know how to work on guns this could be good. Otherwise, I would not recommend it.
