If you need to hang your keys or clip on anything light, then fine, use them. I bought about 3 of these light weight carabiners and one came apart right away. I use them to attach my camelpak to my large Condor molle gear back when I go hiking ((the camelpak is a backpack style, so it has no molle attachments so i use the hooks in it )).
