First I must say that I have not purchased this product from Evike.com.
That said, I will say that I have this product on my own M4 and I think it was a fantastic purchase. I have a large Bushnell scope on my VFC 416 and, because of the eye relief of the scope, I was required to mount it farther back on the rail. This makes operating the charging handle in order to access the hop-up a bit difficult, especially with gloves on.
After having purchased this latch, I found that those problems were instantly alleviated. Now I can disengage the latch and pull the charging handle with one hand without having to splay my fingers around the eyepiece of my scope. Although that was possible before, the more easily-accessible latch coupled with the added length for leverage makes this task simple.
As for the appearance, it looks fantastic. It is a simple and cost-effective way of adding a simple (yet practical) personalization to the gun. My receiver is coyote brown, and leaving the latch black created a simple contrast that made it stand out. Despite this, it fit in perfectly because other elements such as the selector and forward assist were also black. Aesthetics are great.
Quality of workmanship was also excellent. I have ordered and used other Matrix components before without issue or fear of failure. Considering the fact that the charging handle latch has almost no strain put on it anyway, durability isn't really an issue. Regardless, it is good to know that the product can hold up.
In the end I would say that the function, appearance, and durability of the part, coupled with the price offered here by Evike, renders this product to be an excellent buy. Make it an addition to your M4-style weapon and you will be happy.
