"I loved this from the second I saw it. I purchased an Echo1 MTC3 and wanted something to add some extra length and give it a mean look.

"This thing is great. I'd say it adds another 10-11 inches onto the gun, so don't buy it if you want to stay on the mobile side when using your M14.. I originally planned on purchasing the Kart M14 EBR Long Version, however I settled and purchased a used short version over on craigslist. I was still disappointed, so I started looking for ways to enhance what I had, and stumbled upon this.

-Pros:
--Looks great.
--EXTREMELY Lightweight. Seems to be CNC'ed out of Aluminum, which helps since the Kart M14 is
extremely front heavy and weighs 16lbs. all together.
--Latches on securely. It's not like those lame screw-on ones that come with pistols - it actually latches
on over the outer barrel, with no wobble in the least. You can slide it on and never worry about it.
--Officially licensed it seems, which adds the realism of it. Laser etched into the side.

-Cons:
--This thing has no inner-barrel extension. You can unscrew the cap and look inside to them taking up
the space with foam.
--Expensive for a mock-suppressor. I read on several other sites that it had an inner barrel extension,
but then I found out the hard way after purchasing. Sucks to be me.

Other Thoughts:
--One thing I've noticed is that it causes my shots to whip out to the right before coming back in. But
once I remove it, fire a few shots and put it back on the problem is resolved, and I've even noticed
the groupings being a bit better despite the lack of inner-barrel extensions.

All in all it does have its downsides. Is it worth $80? No. I'd say maybe $40-60. Is it still cool? Definitely. It gives my M14 a very intimidating look, and if it ever gets in the way you can just slide it off and stash it in your backpack. I'm not certain if it's compatible with SOCOM 16's or the full length M14 however, so it's up to you to figure that one out. I give this thing a.... 4/5. Not a bad add on to any M14 if you've got the cash.

"My BBs end up hitting cap and breaks inside suppressor

"A few years ago I used to own the original model (with trademarks) and ended up selling it. Now that I bought a new EBR I wanted to get the silencer again. I got the new model and right from the start I was having issues. When mounted on the CYMA EBR's flash hider there is a slight wobble which causes the silencer to sag down and obstruct the flight path of the BBs. I ordered one of the WE Tech EBR flash hiders and even though there was less wobble I still had the same issue. I'm not sure what G&P changed between the models but this one doesn't mount very well and leads to performance issues. I tried using a bit of tape on the flash hider and it helped stabilize it, but I couldn't find something more permanent. I ended up returning the silencer because for $70 it would be great if it was completely stable when it was mounted without the need to modify another part. Externally though, the silencer is beautiful. It has a nice finish. It's just the mounting that isn't great.
