This AK use any regular type 8.4V large type battery. Small type and nunchuck or lipoly will fit too (you might need a small tamiya to large device adapter thats $3 buck here in wiring category if you want to use small or nunchuck type.) To fit a 9.6V easy, use a 9.6V 2300mah nunchuck type.
