"The gun is solid, no stock or barrel wobble. Everything is metal except for the handguard, stock, grip, and magazine which are fiberglass. Shoots hard and fast out of the box, upwards of 380-425fps. The sling that is included is great. The included 7-cell 8.4v 1100maH battery does NOT suck. Although the charger needs to be replaced with a smart charger. The battery compartment is big enough to hold an 8-cell battery. The bolt moves all the way back, unlike the CYMA version, it does wobble a bit into the reciever. DBOY takes a more realistic approach to the takedown of the gun, CYMA does not. Includes non-unique serial number. Uses a 7mm metal gearboxas well as Tokyo Marui compatible internals. The gun is a VFC clone. Surprisingly the gun comes with a bag of .20g PERFECT GRADE BBs, wasn't expecting that. Recommended BBs are .20g.

The gun arrived with the lower handguard lock undone, so it was rattling around the barrel, scratching it up a bit. I fixed it by using some flat black R/C model paint I had, made it look brand new again.

This is the New Version of the RK-05 which has fixed the widespread magazine compatibility issues, prompting the user to file down the mag catch or the mags themselves. The only incompatible mags that I have heard of are STAR AK-74 mags.

Recommended upgrades: Metal spring guide, 7mm metal bushings, reshim the gearbox, metal hop-up chamber, and 6.03mm barrel.

"I got this gun a week ago, and it is the PERFECT starter gun that I needed. It looks very realistic and is full size. It is all metal except for the stock, grip and fore grip which are a high quality polymer. It feels like you can drop it onto pavement (don't try this) and still last forever.

Pros:
- Shoots VERY accurately
- Full metal (Although it is not steel)
- Removable flash hider (Also removes orange tip)
- Flash hider isn't entirely orange like on most AK's, just the tip is

Cons:
- Heavy (May be a pro for those looking for realism)
- Flash hider pin comes off
- Mag it comes with feeds horrible and wiggles a lot (I recommend Model #: "MAG-C88" as a replacement)
- Butt plate can be knocked off easily.

Overall, A good gun for starters to leave stock, or more experienced airsofters to mod. It is a very good gun and I don't plan to replace it until I can afford an HPA gun.

"i bought this gun on Airsoft Megastore last year for $150 now that i see i could've got one for 95 bucks!!!
screw megastore im sticking to evike.com for now on.

anyway its a great starter gun no problems with it in a year

"Honestly, this gun has to be the best starter gun for anyone that is looking for an AK style weapon. This gun can take a beating and can take days of usage and not cause any misfires, breaking down in middle games or anything. I've had this pass down from a close buddy of mine and he has had it for 3 years and now i have it and has not had one problem. Besides switching the battery fuse for holding the auto trigger so damn long. But other than that, for $100????? That's a damn steal for a great gun like this.

Cons:
Great ranged (Chrono'd at 280 fps using .25g using a 9.6v battery) (could be higher)
Light weight, not to heavy
Never had a misfire
Reliable
Parts are easy to find like mags, etc.
Under a $100?? hell yeah

Cons:
Only con i can think of is honestly nothing. Besides there are not rail mounts for scopes, flashlights, etc.

"First off, I'd like to clear up something. The description says "full metal", which the gun is not. It has a metal upper recriever, or dust cover, but the body is a high strength nylon polymer. This is not the crappy ABS plastic from cheap crosman of double eagle guns; it's extremely tough, lightweight and durable.

Anyway, onto the review of the gun itself. It weighs in at exactly 6.5 lbs. and has a good weight, but it's not overly heavy. When you shake the gun there is no wiggle besides if the mag is in, the mag will click. The gun itself is super solid. I use .25 gram elite force bbs, and am just breaking it in. I have had one misfire/skip so far but that's just breaking in the gearbox. It shoots at about 380-400 fps with .20 bbs, but using .25s drops it down to about 330-350. It's accurate out to about 50 yards, then the bbs start to drift.

Overall, this is the best gun you can buy for under 100 dollars. Believe it!

"this is my first airsoft gun, and i have to say that this performs way beyond what i expected.

pros:
full metal
less than $100
little to no wobble
good internals

cons:
no rails to mount things to (but if you want rails you can buy one like this with them for a little extra)

overall i would rate this gun at 5/5

(the only problem that i had was my fault because i bought two stick batteries for it instead of two small type batteries)

"where to begin...
I have had this gun for well over a year and it is an extremely good gun for the price. This gun has survived many skirmishes and is still preforming great.
Pros
-Full metal barrel assembly (its not going to crack, ever)
-very solid internals (good rof and fps)
-come with a battery and charger (I would throw the charger away)
-$96!!!
neutrals
-polymer lower receiver (helps keep the weight down)
cons
-none
Overall this is an amazing gun for the price and I would highly recommend it to all players

"Just got this gun and I have had it for 2 weeks I have had 2 wars with it against KJW M9 a G&G Combat Machine some other assault rifles a random shotgun and a TSD L96 and I have too say i'm pretty much owning the field. I'm about 5'7 and weigh 155 and this is pretty heavy for me but I like it but for long wars its pretty hard and I play football and wrestling and stuff so yea be ready for that.

Pros:
Good Build
Nice Fps/Rps
Pretty accurate
Full stock for bigger batter (Get a 9.6 volt 3000mah or maybe 1000 if you don't wanna get a better motor)

Cons:
Heavy(maybe for some peaple)
Scratches easy but you don't have to worry unless your like really reckless
kinda long but that's what I wanted. Get the Cm031B if you want is shorter

Conclusion:
-Don't let the cons discourage you this is a nice gun for the price and is nice for beginners to intermediate so just go out and buy it its good.

"I got this gun a few months back and I have to say it is the best starter gun ever. It's easily upgraded and with a new battery the ROF is great. It has good range and accuracy for that price.

Only cons really is that the handle came wobbly (easy fix), the mag included broke but also easily fixed, and it's not that great for cqb because it is a 38 inch gun.

Other than that if you want an amazing starter gun this is definetly the one.

"dude this is such a GREAT gun. some parts that involve the battery were kind of bad so i had to pry it out but overall this is the best gun i ever had. its great if you get 2 extra clips and the 7 pocket chest rig thingy 10/10? no more like 10000000000000000000000/10
by Lori M. on 10/23/2008
"This gun is awesome. I have had this gun for over 6 months and it still works just as good going 380 fps with .2. I recommend this gun for any type of person beginner or expert. There are all types of guns out there but this ak is the best that i have seen other than 200 dollars gun.

"very nice gun. the actual ROF with the stock 1800mah 8.4v battery is 11-12RPS. shot 335, -or+ 3fps on .20g bb's, and 290fps on .25g bb's. great gun, ive shot around 6000 rounds through it with not one problem. accuracy is decent....from about 80ft away, its about a 2ft spread. the hop up, slowly readjusts itself to no hop-up, which is a pain, but atleast it works very nicely when its tight. the only thing i found disappointing with this gun is that im outgunned with range, however a m120 spring should take care of that, and with the m120 spring you should get a 9.6v battery

"this is my 2 bast gun and i love it ROF is the bast like 850rpm if not more. FPS is good and so-on... if you buy this YOU'LL LOVE IT...

"For 150 bucks, not too shabby. This was my first airsoft gun and it served as a gateway for me into airsoft which lead me to enjoy it even more.

Pros:
It performs decent with probably 75ft maximum effective range, and I was shocked with how good the RPS was. Stock hop up was able to hop .28s with ease which surprised me, however it comes completely undone after 500 rounds or so. Plenty of room in the stock for batteries, but don't use 11.1Vs, you will fry the gun.

Cons:
Losing the plate at the end of the stock is very easy, I play at an outdoor field so when I lost it I could never find it again. I took the upper handguard off and I could never get it back on, but that's probably on me. Receiver is made of extremely thin plastic, but it never cracked on me. Accuracy was pretty bad when I retired it, but if I cleaned the inner barrel it would probably help. Speaking of inner barrel, it is near impossible to reach as you have to unscrew a million tiny screws in order to get to it. My stock also wobbled alot because the 2 of the 3 screws that hold it to the reciever fell out, in fact most of the external screws on this gun fall out at some point.

No biggies:
Whenever I ran out of ammo using high cap mags, the gun would make a horrible grinding noise but everytime it turned out to be fine. Due to the battery being in the stock and not in the dust cover like most AKs, third party railed dust covers do not fit as the dust cover attachment pins on the sight block/trunnion are not present on this model.

In conclusion it's okay but I wouldn't recommend it. If you are a newcomer to airsoft just get a g&g combat machine, its only 30 dollars more and has way more aftermarket support. If you want an AK get a cyma, just not this one. If you are still unable to scrounge up a whole 30 bucks for either another AK model or a combat machine, this gun will do, but expect some problems.

"This gun is pretty good for a cheap AK. I would recommend this gun for beginners and a weekend casual skirmish play. The only problem out of the box is the selector switch. I is a little loose and will fall off after a while if you are running around with it. I took it to my local field tech (or you can repair it yourself) and it was fixed and never was loose again. The stock is good and sturdy. The only downside is it is a slow shooter (compared to other guns) it is also a little heavy for kids. Don't trust the sling points, they are pretty Weak. Over all this a very good gun, especially if you upgrade it. A good buy. I have used it for many games and have taken a liking to it. You can get a rail for a red dot sight on Evike for about $20. They iron sights are kinda cheap.
