CYMA Full Metal Railed Handguard for M14 Series Airsoft AEGs

"Pros:
Quality of production is fantastic
Installation isn't bad
Fit out of the box.

Cons:
If you're buying this as a factory replacement, try to remember how it goes on cause the instructions are not translated well and the pictures aren't great. Mine fell off (broke, dropped) years ago, so I had a hell of a time remembering how it's assembled.

The description says it won't fit on SOCOM models, but I have an AFTERMATH rebranded CYMA SOCOM 16 and this is a direct OEM replacement for the railed guard it was shipped with. It's pretty great.

"Very very very light rail system. it looks sweet and very tacticool on my wood SOCOM m14. fits nice and snug,

pros:
tacticool
light
plenty of rail space

cons:
rail covers are cheap (they look kinda gross to me but thats just my opinion)
little pricey but worth the cost
you will need a really small allen key to install the rear rain (right infront of the rear iron sight)

overall great buy.

"I got this for my Echo1 M14 just the other day. It fits great and as very sturdy, the only down side is that the fixer bases tend to be pushed around the barrel while you are trying to attach this. It sits even with the UTG M14 Tactical Charger Guide Rail.

Pros:

Sturdy Metal
Compatibility

Cons:

None

"I purchased this recently to put on my WE tech M14.
it did not fit out of the box, but I didn't expect it to.
with a little work it fit on the gun just fine and I really like it!
I have to give it 5 stars because of the quality alone.
I can't say anything about the fit on the brands it's made for because I have no clue.

"Purchased this rail kit for my G&P M14 DMR. The kit is seeming made out of pot metal and not CNCed aluminum or anything like that. As a result, it doesn't feel incredibly high quality, but frankly, I find it to be good enough. The installation process is a little strange and the instructions are vague. It does fit on my G&P, but in true airsoft fashion, the tolerances are loose. Funnily enough, the pot metal construction works in its favor here, as the tang that extends off the side of the kit to secure to the receiver screw hole (near ejection port) needs to flex slightly in order to fasten securely. Once you do manage to secure this screw, the entire rail section actually fits rather snugly.

My biggest gripe is with the included rail section that is intended to replace the stripper clip guide. This is difficult to articulate, but essentially, this rail section will sit too low relative to the rest of the main tri-rail section. This means that if you're intending to span the ejection port with a scope (one ring secured to the forward rail section, one ring secured to the stripper clip guide section), it won't necessarily work. You can get away with securing the forward scope ring incredibly tightly then essentially using the scope to float the rear rail section in place, but this obviously isn't ideal. Also, the iron sights are essentially completely blocked by this kit.

If you're planning on using this, just be aware that it adds a not-insignificant amount of weight to the front end of your rifle. Combine this with a scope, and you've drastically increased the overall mass that's attached to your gun. It's not quite as fun to lug around the woods for a day, but frankly, I think it looks cool enough that it might just be worth it.

"to start i got this to use on my G&P M14 DMR.

Out of the box it's made from okay metal to be kind, it's not going to crumble but it's not steel or even aluminum for that matter. it's very light. install is pretty easy which is fortunate because the instruction it comes with are basic, poorly translated and the images are pretty low quality. it comes with all the mounting hardware to fit onto any make of m14 you may have, a few screws of different lengths, and head types, two washers and a lock washer. also a very tiny and very important grub screw for attaching the rear rail segment for spanning a scope over the action.

The main portion of this kit is good, it does it's job, it attaches firmly and it doesnt feel like it's going to break loose. but with the G&P m14 i found that the rear rail section mounts to low to be level with the forward rail section so if it's installed like normal and you span a scope across the two rails it will point pretty far north to wear you wont be able to even track your shots through it let alone aim. with some finagling however you can mount the rear rail a little higher off it's dovetail and get your sight level (it will wobble without a sight on it but with my scope mounted it holds nice and tight)

Pros- it's available and not too horribly priced
main portion installs easily and all the mounting pieces you need are there
good sturdy connection to the gun (for front rail)
tacticool/agro look

Cons- pot metal
bad instructions
rear rail segment doesn't align on G&P without some serious catewampus BS
cheapo rail covers
not meant for G&P
