Matrix AK Fast Mag Release Extension - Black

"It works great once modded correctly. I have a real version and this Matrix version and they are identical, both in function and in the way they need to be modded. Slip the Matrix mag release over the existing mag release, and WITHOUT tightening the 3 set screws, op check your mags in the weapon to see if it is too tight to release them without modding. If its too tight, remove the Matrix release extension, leaving the set screws out, and file/dremmell down the front side (side that makes contact with the magazine itself). It's thick so you can be generous with the amount taken off, but be sure the set screw for that front side will still have enough material to sit in to be functional. When installing, tighten the the set screws in the back first, (the back side has 2 screws) this will provide more flex space from the magazine and Matrix mag release. Then tighten the front.
These work great after installed. They're ambidextrous and also still allow the user to release the magazine the traditional way if desired to do so. Another positive addition to this mag release is that the sides will cover the existing mag release lever pin, holding it in place (see the last pic). If you have a loose pin, this is a great solution as the pin cannot fall out of either side with the Matrix release in place.
Operating the release is a bit different than expected, pushing down on the release with the index finger is tough because it's not quite long enough to get a good leverage on it. Instead try pushing it forward with the index or maybe even the middle finger.
I would recommend this product.

"I originally purchased this for my Cyma Aks74u and quickly realised when I installed it that the shape of the mag release would interfere with my magazines and thus would require modification to fit. I was pretty bummed out at first because I don't like having to file or trim parts to get them to fit. Just out of curiosity I tried the mag release on my S&T Bizon and it fit perfectly. This worked better in the end because Bizon magazines are somewhat awkward to change and this release made a big difference. I'm still satisfied with the product because when everything was said and done I was not at a $12.00 loss. If you plan on buying this be prepared for possible modification.

-Cost effective
-Significant difference when installed

-May require modification to fit your weapon.
