"These are a good price for how many you get. I use the single large hole type of 40mm shells. I have made some modifications.
In my launcher, they are kind of loose, so I wrap the plastic part with two layers of painter's tape. I the interior of the plastic part, I use some FLex Seal (or rubber dip) in the interior tip. I use more Flex Seal or 2 or 3 layers of painters' type wrapped around the inside of the plastic tip.
Sometimes I add a small piece of paper wadding inside after loading some BBs inside.
The reason is that they just break. There' no way around this as stock. The base is plastic. Also, the rubber tip can fall off, and again, the plastic breaks.
My solution is to glue the rubber tip to the plastic housing. I have started to add some BBs inside the plastic housing so they can be shot accurately. I never shot the 40mm shells at people. I shoot them high and let them drop, more like what real grenade launchers are for.
You can use the plastic 6mm Airsoft BBs inside the rubber tip without gluing, and the tip will blow off and spill the BBs upon impact.
Pros:
-They work with the modifications
-they are fun
Cons:
Plastic, without the mods, you will have to basically replace each one after one or two shots.
-Tagnin may be more realistic, but so far, all the fields I play in do not allow them. They are also kind of hard to get since that war broke out.
There is one YouTube channel that has a 3d printed design he offers that makes shooting 40mm grenades more realistic. Haven't tried to make any yet.
What I would Change:
- Guess nothing, with the DIY mods, they become more reusable, and color tape makes them more visible to find.
-just try them out, you may or may not like them
