This rifle is Worth it. Every gun is going to have some cons.

"This gun is absolute beast! VFC truly knows how to make excellent high quality AEG's.
Pros:
Lipo ready
Light weight gun
Offical trademarks make it look very cool and realistic

Cons:
con for me, $$$$ price is sort of high but I bought this during the memorial day sale so...
Overall 5 stars this gun!!!!

"Owning 4 scars, I believe I've got what it takes to review at least one
Pros
Very nice FN HERSTAL trademarks
Full metal upper receiver
Working bolt catch
Adjustable cheek rest
Collapsible/folding stock
Ok battery space(9.6 nunchuk can fit comfortably)
Signature SCAR flip up/down sights
Orange tip was beyond easy to remove in my case
Ambidextrous in just about any way
Gas block contains tool for dissassembly
More than enough rail space
Wiring for the stock is in the folding section of the stock(spare me the exact details guys)
Comes with expensive $40 hi cap (duh)
Cons
One unforgivable, unforgettable con is the Rear wiring, it utilizes a car style fuse, very outdated and takes up space
Bottom and side rails are polymer...a hard polymer but still....
Notoriously difficult hop up replacement issues, mine works fine but it may be problematic for others
EXTREMELY expensive mags, $26 midcaps and $40 hi caps
If the gun doesnt empty ur wallet then extra mags will
Hi caps are smooth and flawless fitting, midcaps are EXTREMELY tight fitting for whatever reason
Mags seem to scratch up easily too...
SCARs in general aren't easy for techs to work on, keep that in mind
I'm any case this gun is very much worth the money, VFC is a great brand and SCAR Hs especially are a very rare sight in any field
Very much recommended

"What a great gun , solid built , shoots hard, good fps, good bps. Wire less folding stock great feature. Mags are high and you need different mag pouches. Battery compartment tight but you learn quick how to get the battery in an out. Plus if I may use this term this gun is a sexy looking gun. Buy it you won't be sorry.

"This weapon, as to no surprise being from VFC, is absolutely amazing, inside and out. The build is super sturdy. I have taken it apart and put it back together several times and it is no less sturdy than it was out of the box. Everything that's metal on the real steel is metal, and everything that is polymer on the real steel is polymer on this. And it is some heck of hard polymer. Even harder than low quality metals. It doesn't teeth at all when pulling and pushing pins in and out of it. It also looks exactly like a real SCAR and I've held the real steel version. It looks so sexy with my Eotech sight, rail covers, and angled grip I put on it.

I have had this gun for 8 months now and have had very few issues with it. It's accurate, has a great range, the fps is around 360-380 which is good for field and CQB, plus it is easy to take apart and upgrade. But very few will be needed, maybe a tight bore, a new bucking and nub, or a higher power spring for field. Otherwise internally, it's top notch. There are also no wires showing when the stock is folded like the DBOYs and CA versions. It's all wired in through little conducting washers in the stock crease. The cycle rate on this thing is INSANE out of the box. On a 9.6 it sounds like a buzz saw. On an 11.1 volt lipo...it sounds like you have angered god.

The only issue I have had are the wires in the stock and how the stock itself adjusts with a battery inside. With certain batteries, the stock can only be collapsed to the level of the battery inside. The bigger, the worse this effect is. The wiring however, that connects to the fuse and battery in the rear, ripped on me not once, but twice in the same set. Electrical tape only temporarily fixes this problem, until the recoil shakes the tape off. I had to buy a whole new scar wiring set for it to work flawlessly again. Might have been a fluke, but don't force the wires in when plugging your battery in.

Also, the mags are CRAZY expensive. 40$ for a hi-cap and mid-caps are only a little less. The VFC mags do work and look the best, but there are cheaper mags you can buy that look a little less pleasing and are a tighter fit, but they still work fine.

Overall, for any airsofter, This is a great gun. Pretty much a grab and go AEG sure to please both in performance and looks. The price tag is a little high, but trust me, you get much more than you pay for. There are many other high end guns like this that cost hundreds more, but don't perform nearly as well.

Overall, 4.8/5. Because nothing is perfect, although this is pretty close.

"i got the vfc scar h a few months ago and all i can say is," this is the greatest battle implement in the airsofting age".

pros:
high rof
shoots 398 fps with .20g bb's and a 9.6v battery
gets 200+ feet in range (with a 455mm madbull 6.03mm inner barrel)
excellent externals/internals

con: the wiring in the stock the second i put the battery in and collapsed/extend the stock the red positive wire snapped form the fuse box. which is an easy fix just sodder it back and it will never break again
and mags are hard to come by under 40$

With that said the vfc scar h is the best gun dont be drawn away because of the price and there is no need to upgrade the gun it already is upgraded so that will save some money. also at my local field im the only one with a mk17.

"this gun is amazing shoots far and true! i love everything about it, its solid, good internals, fully licensed very cool.
only issue i had was when they package got here it was pretty haggard. im pretty sure ups dropped the package resulting in the outer barrel being loose and they bolt catch as well. both easy fixes but i would prefer if i never had to deal with it.
great gun highly suggested 5 out of 5 10 out of 10 whatever buy this gun.... like yesterday!!!

"Well let me say this. This gun just destroys it is an amazing gun this is the perfect Scar for Scar lovers it beats G&G Scars by MILES . I have taken down so many guys with this in the field. I have 3 scars and this thing beats em all don't think twice buy this instead you won't regret it. The info on this gun is wrong the gun has the FN Herstal logo and it has a beautiful color and it shoots about 390-400 FPS out of the box. VFC has done an amazing job! Love it!
by Jonathan S. on 07/24/2013
"This gun is amazing! I absolutely love it! It has such a ridiculus fire rate with only a 9.6 NiMh battery! I could not complain about this gun. It is just absolutely gorgeous and with the addition of a 3-9x scope, a bipod, and a foldable foregrip it just increases its looks.

THis gun is ridculously accurate too! You can put wherever you want with a scope and with the scope you can see where you bbs are flying so you can adjust on the fly! Just an overall amazing gun and worth the 500$!

The only minus is that the battery wires strip easily and the adjustable stock cad be a pain to push in and out at times.

Pros:
High fire rate with a 9.6
Gorgeous rifle
durable construction
500 round hi-cap mags
Lipo ready(would make this gun scream and is a definite upgrade I will do!)
Plenty of rails

Cons
Battery Wires Strip easily
Adjustable stock can be a pain

Overall a fantastic rifle and one that is well worth 500$! Would work great for a Sniper Rifle! This is NOT for CQB. This is and outdoor ONLY gun. Don't take that as a minus since you clearly aren't going to use a Sniper Support Rifle(SSR) in CQB. Fantastic gun that I highly recommend to anyone!

"I barely got this gun last week and it is AWESOME! It is the sickest looking airsoft gun I have ever seen. It will even put cool looking SAWs and M60's to shame. It is so detailed. The picture is wrong, it does not say MK17 MOD0 on the side, instead it has the FN Herstal logo, and in the top right of the left side it says SCARH 7.62x51, then the serial number. Mine shoots around 360 fps with .2's. If you are concerned that the colors don't blend well like they don't in the last few pictures, don't worry. The colors blend well and they look absolutely awesome.

Pros
Awesome
Great FPS for CQB, con if you want to play field
Doesn't really look like the first picture tan, it is more dark earth, which looks really cool.
Comes with a long heavy flashider
Folding, ergonomic stock
looks better than the light version
7.62x51 mags hold 500 bb's.
Cons

Expensive mags
Very limited battery space ( you can use a stick type battery, it will fit)

EXTRA PRO: the flashider works as a tuning fork. Just tap it on metal

"Very good looking gun, at the moment im just zeroing it in and adding some tac equipment to it. looks way better than the AR-16 im used to back in the days 92.
now for the initial goodies
shoots straight as an arrow
out of the box 420fps. with a 9.6 v 1600mah 865rpm
selector switch is iffy gets gummed up now and then
tan is the new black
did i say beautiful gun ?
got some weight to it , i think grip pod is necessary for its size.
overall i am pleased with its performance. Would like to add a longer tight bore barrel 650mm perhaps? and a silencer to add to the wickedness of this beast.
When in my hands it takes me back to the best and worst of times.

"Had this gun for a few months now and i still love it. I haven't had any problems whatsoever. Also has the cool factor. Not the rarest gun out there but definately not as common as an m4 so its something different

Pros:

-full metal
-no wiring exposed when stock is folded
-functional bolt catch
-authentic FN Herstal trademarks
-tan looks wicked
-as realistic as it gets
-superb rof on 9.6
-nice weight (feels durable)
-reliable
-performs awesome to date
-breaks down like a real scar (not necessary but just cool)

Cons:

-Sights are slightly off
-came with a couple deep scrates (1-2cm long, 1/2 -1 cm wide and deep enough it took the paint off)
-fps is a little lower than i'd like (around 350fps good for cqb but i play field)
-having a 9.6 small type battery in the stock only lets it close to the second shortest position (positon 1-5 are usable, position 6 is not)
-my biggest problem is that the sling points are too small to be able to fit a 1-point sling in (mine anyway) and the sling points are plastic with no metal replacements

overall the cons are pretty minor annoyances that ive found and the pros definately outweigh the cons. i would definately buy it again.

"This gun is amazing. The battery is fairly easy to get to and simple to use. My only concern is with how cramped the battery holder is. My battery fits well into it and everything is in order. Fantastic gun.
by matt s. on 12/15/2011
"One of the best airsoft guns I have ever used (I've tried over 20 different guns), internals are some of the best, VFC makes the best scars. I've owned ares, g and g, echo 1 and now VFC and VFC beats the crap out of every single one.

Pros:
Very fast stock ROF (about 22) with a 9.6.
Very solid everything is nylon fiber or full metal.
Great FPS 420
Perfect size for field.
dead accurate I can hit a 2 inch target at 100 feet easy with .25 matrix bbs, with a 9x scope.

Cons:
Way to big for cqb
stock wires suck get rid of them as soon as you get the gun.
Pain to take stock wires out, when you fold the stock there is a little clip that you have to take out.

Overall amazing gun it feels like it can withstand anything, and looks deadly.
by Casey R. on 08/08/2011
"I don't like put up pros and cons of this and that i.e., the gun is amazing; so instead, I'll just put down my own experiences.

First off, the Sniper Support Rifle (SSR) does a good job of weeding out the other guys you go up against. I've brought this gun to a few events where dudes would just bounce half way through because with a good scope, the right camo, and a spotter, the SSR pins the opposition down pretty good. I let my friend borrow my SSR once and with my 50mm scope I didn't have a prayer; he had me and a few dudes zerod in - we couldn't go anywhere until we had another unit flank my friend.

The gun is huge. The picture doesn't do a justice. When you pick this thing up its DANG GINA!

You can use the SSR for both sniper or support or both during an event. I use full auto for support roles and semi auto for sniper roles, but whatever.

Obviously with this gun shooting over 400 fps, some fields have rules for sniper distance/range limits, and some places don't let you roll with full auto enabled specifically with the SSR, so this AEG isn't something you can't run around with at a CQB event obviously. It's an intimidating beast.

As an upgrade, I would recommend a 509/510mm tight bore.
