"Hey, I bought this gun a week ago and I absolutely loved it. It had a great ROF, light enough to move around easily but heavy enough to be realistic. The sights are OK, and the stock is kind of weird. But all that isnt really important, as its a CQB weapon, and you dont need to really use the sights or stock. But my big problem with this gun that keeps it from being a 5/5 is that it jams CONSTANTLY. And after it jams it just shoots out all the jammed BBs that go 3 feet. I dont know what to do.Suggestions???

Overall though (besides the jamming) it is a really good gun, and you should buy it.

"The JG V.61 Skorpion is definitely worth the 70$. Good trigger response and ROF with the provided 7.2v battery. Word of advice though, you need to give the hi cap a nice long wind for it to feed well.

Pros:
Good trigger response
Good ROF
80 round Hi-Cap
Nice feel and look
Stock is fun to play with
Nice and compact
Good for CQB
Very inexpensive
Comes with a rail for flashlight, laser, or even a vert grip if you decide you want one

Cons:
Expensive mags
Wobbly stock
NiCd battery(Discharging needed)
Hard to find replacement parts if broken
Only usable in CQB or as a side arm due to low FPS, range and accuracy
Hard to holster if used as a side-arm

That's all I can think of right now but overall I like it. Good job by JG.

"Haven't gotten to use it out on the field yet but......
it does come with US battery charger.
mine didnt come with a cleaning rod. not a big deal.

Advantage

Good gun if you are going to use it appropriately. the inner barrel length is similar to a pistol's (about 4") making the accuracy similar. With the group i play with it is considered a pistol. the nice thing is the mag holds more then just about any other pistol out there and the drum mag gives ya even more of an advantange.

Since it is so small i plan to use it as a backup gun if my main field gun doesn't work, cuz of size it wont get in the way and not be a pain to carry once i find a holster for it. been looking around the internet and think ill get a real steel holster they are leather and fairly inexpensive.

Disadvantage

when i received it it had a feeding issue where it would just fire, dry fire, then shoot that first bb, repeat. that apparently was fixed by lubing the barrel.

shipping was hard on the gun. the front clips on the upper receiver that hold the stock snapped off. i hope that once fixed they wont be that brittle.

when you remove the bright orange tip and screw the "barrel extension" adapter on they not the same style. meaning that the orange tip you can screw on tight but the extension you can over tighten it causing it to skip threads and potentially eat the threads in the gun making it impossible to tighten snug. this can be fixed by putting a small rubber washer on the extension's end, or taking the one off the orange tip's.

"I did buy this gun and it got jamed but it is a good gun! It is mostly for CQB and not outdoor airsoft wars.

"it uses the same battery as the cyma and tokyo marui g18c aep

"I agree that it isnt as powerful as the mp5k but it is more compact and light weight it probably would be good for cqb or as a sidearm for a sniper

"i think the r.i.s. is pointless you cant really put anything on it, but other than that it seems pretty good

"Great gun, Bad Charger

I really do not want to give this gun a bad review. I’ve only taken it out once for a full day of play and it was awesome. I got kills with it, I was able to hand it off to teammates when they ran out of ammo (turning the game around and letting up take the flag back and win) and even after a full day of play and probably near 1000 bbs shot through it the battery was solid and not slowing down. The gun is freaking awesome. I found a 3D Print model for a holster and printed it out and it makes an awesome side arm and really completes my soviet/eastern euro load out.

However, the charger that came with my gun does not work. I’ve bought two more graveyard Skorpions from HopUp and eBay and I’ve managed to piece together a complete set from all that plus two guns for parts.

I had enough money to buy the stuff I needed, and I had the know how to work on stuff, so this worked alright for me. If you don’t have one or both of those things this might not work great for you.

Also, It seems like the charger is sold out everywhere.

Overall Great gun, Bad charger. If you want TM quality, it will cost TM prices.

"The battery compartment is to complicated to get to. Not very easy to do a lipo mod

"my JG Skorpion AEP was awesome FOR ABOUT A WEEK (it just stopped shooting) giving about as much velocity with 0.2g bbs as my KWC/Cybergun CO2 blowback Desert Eagle.

"10/08/15 I just purchased one of these, received it yesterday. After reviewing the manual AND the video Evike has I practiced using the folding stock. It went down just fine, but when I tried to set it back it snapped! One side broke off completely. Very flimsy part. The rest of the gun is pretty solid seeming though, and it is extremely accurate. It has a very solid punch, especially for a SMG, and is great fun to fire. Since I was planning to remove the folding stock anyway I have not contacted Evike, and will not, unless any other major problem arises. Also worth mentioning I immediately put about 300 rounds through it (after charging the battery) to test it out, and have discovered the default 80 rnd clip doesn't fed well if you put 80 rnds in it (needs to be shaken or smacked every 2 or 3 rnds until it empties a bit). It works great with 60 or so rounds though! Though slightly irritated at the stock breaking I am over all pretty satisfied with the weapon, especially at the sale price. I certainly recommend it, unless you plan on using that folding stock - in which case you may want to consider other options.

"I love this gun.. there are a couple of problems with it though. It arrived with the wire stock broken right next to the body of the gun, and without even using it in a game the mag release fell off. This after cycling maybe 6 standard mags thru the gun while playing with the hop with .2's vs .25's. It shoots wwell, and has an awesome ROF, just wish that those couple of problems had not occured.

"I have this gun and i like it its a great back up to throw in bag if ur primary runs out and u can still carry a pistol on u too overall good rate of fire and range and fps for the power of the gun drum mag is very neccsary just buy a forgrip through so its easy to carry stock is useless i took mine off

"I would give this about a 2.5 to 3 star. I'm not impressed with the JG vz61. I bought this gun as a Christmas present for my kid to shoot in the backyard. The gun itself feels of good quality, but the battery and charger are trash. So thrash that I was never able to get the little gun shooting. As soon as I plugged in the charger I hear a little pop. Pulled the charger off the wall and it was making a rattling noise when shaking it. Bought another charger from Amazon for the tm/JG micro battery and it did not fit the battery that came with the gun. A month later 2-2-24 and the gun just sits on a shelf. A disappointment for both father and son

"Got this as my first gun to get back into airsoft. I had high expectations (though I obviously knew it was a budget Chinese gun) after researching and reading countless reviews praising this little SMG. but unfortunately the one I received only lasted about an hour on the field. The grip came loose in the middle of a game and rendered the gun useless as It would not fire. I tried fixing it but can't find a way to get the grip where it needs to be. It was not dropped nor abused and I pretty much babied it since it was new. There's no reason why it should have broken litterally the first time I used it.

I'm really hoping that I just received a lemon and evike can repair or replace it for me. Because this gun was great when it did work. It's perfect for CQB as it has an edge over larger rifles in tight spaces. I will also add that the quality seemed very well especially for the price point. I've owned a real VZ61 in the past and this is a very good replica. If it didn't crap out on me so early I'd definitely give it a 5 star.
