"I apologize if this is bad, this is my first review. First off I will say this is a good rifle, but you will see why I have given it four stars if you would care to read the rest of my massive review. Now I've had this rifle for over a year now (still completely stock... For now), and I do believe I am knowledgeable of this rifle. I received it in October 2016, but I did not use it until 2 months later in December because my uneducated self did not understand that because I bought a deans gun, and a deans battery, I could shoot the gun. Yet because I bought a tenergy large tamiya smart charger I could not charge the battery. Then 2 months later I had a friend add it to his $80+ order.(Free Shipping) It's had about 30,000+ rounds through it, nearly all have been .25 grams. Either EMG, Elite Force, or Matrix. Tbh, when I first got to shoot it, I wasn't impressed. A factor may have been that it was the last/the coldest month of the year. It shot well I guess, but range was very limited. I was so stressed out with this gun, until summer came. When it did, the hopup unit got broke in, and my range sufficiently increased. Fps became much higher as well. This gun is still working today. Fps is high, especially for a 363mm inner barrel. I'm talking 420 fps. At my nearest field (Centermass in Kansas City), I arrived late. Therefore I skipped chrono... If I would have chronoed, I would have been labeled a dmr, with a 363mm inner barrel. Kit, WTF!?! If you don't know, this means I can only fire semi-auto. Instead I went full-auto the entire day! :D I got a lot of compliments on this gun. Most were surprised of the fire rate, which is good considering there were 10/40 people with krytacs. I played 5 games and got more than 25 kills. I will now list the stats of this rifle.
Accuracy- Decent, but this is simply because the barrel is not that long or tight. I plan on replacing with an aircraft alluminum Madbull 6.01 inner barrel for $45.
Range- Decent, and could easily be better. To increase mine I plane on replacing inner barrel with the one i already said, hopup to a prowin or lonex ultimate hopup, and lastly flat hop it with modify's flathop nub and bucking. (the black one)
Fps- Far too high for what I want. But I plan on replacing the spring. ( It comes with an m120)
Rate of Fire- Great, especially for a stock gun. It's at about 23 rounds per second with a 9.6. It is much higher with my 10.8. I plan on replacing its motor with a shs, and the gears with matrix (Oem- shs) ultra high speed 12-1 gears. Obviously, correcting aoe, regreasing, and perfectly shimming.
Trigger Resonse- Poor. This may just be mine, but it feels almost squishy. I plan on replacing with a tunable speed trigger. I also plan on purchasing a $35 deans Gate mosfet, and a couple 20-40c 7.4 lipos.
Weight- Fine, it's a small rifle to be ten pounds. it doesn't feel like it though, because it is so compact.
Now for the reason I give this rifle 4 stars. First time I saw this gun. I didn't even look at it. I was a plain noob. I heard G&p was good! Which it is. Yet, I saw the price tag. $440 rifle for $250! WOW! That's an insane deal! Or so you would think. This gun is an Evike Class 1 custom rifle. This means it has no internal upgrades, and only external upgrades. So, this is internally the same as a standard G&p M4, which sell here at Evike for $200 in tan. WTF right? The only upgrade externally on this gun is the hanguard. Yes, you read that correctly this gun is originally $240 more than the standard G&p m4 simply because it has an integrated flashlight into the hanguard. I will admit the flashlight is very bright, and has a huge spread. But is very heavy and causes the rifle to become uneven, and is clearly not worth $240. Thankfully I snagged this gun for $250, so I only paid $50 for it. Which is alot considering I am going to switch it out for an EMG Strike Industries Viper handguard. Another thing is that G&p decides to put an unnecessary piece on the inside of the dust cover, causing it to be unable to close. Not a big deal though, just because you can buy an ICS dustcover, for just $5 that will close on a G&p upper guaranteed. Also, G&p like to be unique unique, so the threading is positive. This means it will be harder to find a flash-hider/suppressor. Luckily, this rifle comes with a black metal flash hider identical to the orange one that it arrives with. Did not come with a barrel rod luckily my brother lets me borrow his. No barrel condom either. :( It isn't ambidextrous. You must put the battery in correctly, because it can pinch the wires. This will cause it to fire full-auto on safety. Now another big concern, hopefully you've read this before you ordered this rifle and not make the mistake I did. There is two paths you can follow. Because this gun is already wired to deans, which is not bad because deans is faster than both large and small tamiya. You can purchase a deans battery which is more expensive but will be better. If you buy a deans battery you will need to buy an adapter to be able to charge it because most chargers will come with large or small tamiya. The other option will be to buy a small/large tamiya battery, but then you must still buy an adapter to fire the rifle itself. This also defeats the purpose of having deans, but will be cheaper. I chose to buy a deans battery, and the adapter I purchased was only $4. I have not yet tried a lipo, and I do not plan on using one until I have installed a mosfet. I own a G&p highcap and midcap. They both work great and don't skip. I've used my brothers KWA mag, and my neighbor's SRC, and they both fed fine. Now an important question. Do I recommend this rifle? Yes, most certainly. Just don't make the mistake I made. Have patience. And if you plan on purchasing this rifle, don't replace the hand guard. IT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE! If you want a G&p to externally upgrade purchase the standard one, they are almost identical! I wish I could go back in time and purchase the standard one, but it had already been a few months before I discovered this. Thank you if you have read to the end. I hope this review has helped you or saved you money. Goodbye!
"This was my brother and I's first gun off Evike. So far this gun is a monster in field, but the hop-up is not the best. We've tried .20 and .25 bb's and neither of them work well with the hop-up. Another problem is the stock, after the first day he got it, the stock can only go as low as position three. This isn't a big problem when I use it, but he is a small kid for his age. If you know how to use it right, the gun is really accurate and the rof and fps are both really high for a stock gun.
Weight is reallistic
Stock (his battery may be too long)
Flashlight is half the gun's weight
