Armee-Universal-Gewehr (Universal Army Rifle) or AUG is a futuristic assault rifle developed during the 1960s in Austria to replace the aging 7.62mm FAL automatic rifles in service at the time. Often considered as the first successful bullpup rifle, the AUG was indeed well ahead of its time as far as concept and design; it was highly advanced when it first went into service in the late 1970s. Its bullpup design which moves the core of the rifles action behind the trigger allows for the use of a full length rifle barrel in a weapon with the ergonomics of a sub-machine gun. Some other significant features include fully ambidextrous controls and reversible charging handle and shell ejection port allowing the rifle to be configured for both left and right handed shooters. The unique two stage trigger allows the user to fire in semi-auto and full-auto without needing to manipulate a selector switch; for semi-automatic fire, the operator will just pull the trigger half way and if fully-automatic fire was necessary, the operator needs to only pull the trigger all the way back. Chambered in the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge for its ease of use and handling, the futuristic family of rifles in the AUG line can be quickly adapted to accommodate a wide variety of roles in the ever changing battlefield with just a quick swap of the barrel. The AUG is definitely a well-rounded combat weapon with a proven track record that can stand its own even with todays modern combat rifles.

"This gun feels very solid for a completely plastic design AEG. Most everything fits together very well and my only real complaint is the trigger feels a little "mushy". It works perfectly fine but it just doesnt have that really nice feel to the trigger pull like some of the better, more expensive guns out there. For $200 it is a great airsoft rifle though. Out of the box with no adjustment it was shotting about 300fps with .2's. Good for me since I got it as an indoor gun with a field limit of 350fps. So this will let me put a nice tightbore inner barrel on and stay within the fps limits of the field.
"Very good purchase! Well worth $140. Bought it to replace old Ar15. Comes with foregrip, barrel cap, battery (NiMH), charger, cleaning rod, 100 .20 bbs, and of course your gun. Working very good so far. Light trigger pull shoots 1 round while full draw goes full auto. Would recommend it to those not looking to spend a lot yet still get a quality gun.
"I've been using this gun for well over a year now and I am very impressed with it. A lot of the problems mentioned in the other reviews are cases that I've never dealt with. The material used for the polymer of this gun is high-quality, but not the HIGHEST quality polymer I've seen on a gun before. Over the year of use I've had with this thing, the only issues I've run into are finding good quality magazines. This gun has never once failed me. Out of the box, it works, and it works well. I like to christen this gun "'Ol Faithful" simply because if one of my other guns breaks down, I know I can rely on this gun. It is perfect for cqb fields with an fps at 330 consistently. The range this gun can get is amazing though, so I am not afraid of taking this outdoors. The hop-up unit can very easily be broken if not taken care of; mine has not even seen the slightest crack but that is because I am super careful whenever messing with the quick-detach front assembly. One drawback is that this gun is heavy, so it can very quickly wear out your arms if you're not all that strong. All in all, I'd very much recommend getting this airsoft gun.
