"So far an amazing buy, it has an amazing sound when you fire, the sights are great, and the features are just amazing. Good on feeding. Better than any M4 I've had. 300 dollars? Eh, its worth it.
This replica could easily be 5 star material, barring the couple issues I had with it, namely the motor locking up on me and the sights. It is a well-built, high fps (I know fps doesn't matter much in terms of range, but in a field game, the sooner the BB gets to the opponent, the better), long-range, high rof, feature packed G36. The blowback has a very satisfying *clack* whenever a BB is fired, and sounds amazing when using the 2 round burst multiple times in quick succession. The 3.5x sight is nice, while the red dot sight is mediocre at best. The entire sight assembly is subpar, due to both the red dot and 3.5x scope being aimed too low, even when adjusted upward all the way. Another issue I have with the sight assembly is the placement of both sights, with the red dot being too high, too bulky, and lacking brightness settings, while the scope is set too low, but I guess that is on H&K's design. You are better off using a rail, with the (In my opinion) amazing H&K sight or aftermarket sights. The folding buttstock is great for making the G36 more maneuverable, but is not adjustable, and it quite long (fine for someone of my build). I never found any practical use for the bipod, and that meant it had to go. The gun is advertised as being rated for 11.1v LiPo batteries, but I found that using an 11.1 and firing for as much as a longer burst in full auto melts components of the motor, locking it up and making the motor useless. I bought and installed an upgraded motor, and my motor issues have been resolved since then. The bipod, buttstock, and carry handle/sight assembly have all been done away with currently, replaced with a G36 idz conversion kit. I have also had deans connections installed. The deans, 11.1v Lipo, and MOSFET all lend to a very quick trigger response; nearly instantaneous, I feel. The construction of the body is good: durable, light, and easy to work with. The selector is solid, with nice clicks coming out for every firing mode. I feel the selections are cluttered, however, making it difficult to select a firing mode when not looking/in an intense situation. But this is a price I am willing to pay for the 2 round burst. The included hi cap mag, surprisingly, is very good. I have owned 7 hi cap mags, and this one blows all of them out of the water in terms of capacity, reliably feeding, ease of fitting into the gun and staying there, and construction. I will be getting midcaps regardless, but the hicap has made my time without them more than bearable. Now, the pros and cons:
-2 round burst
-high fps (mine chrono'd at 430 out of the box, may be a con depending on field limits)
-quick change spring
-built in 3.5x sight and red dot
-fairly light for a full length rifle
-accurate, long range
-best Hi-cap mag I have owned
-1 year warranty
-motor couldn't handle an 11.1v Lipo
-sight assembly is not very good
-fps too high for field limits (easily remedied with quick change spring system)
I cannot with confidence recommend this product. I love mine, and know of others who enjoy theirs. Others have had issues far worse than mine. With the 1 year warranty, you can take the risk, at the cost of all the hassle that brings. There are more reliable guns out there, but none match the vast array of features present in this G36.
"I am writing this review after approx. 6 months of owning it. It had a fair share of issues at first (noted in cons) foremost of which was the motor, which I had to replace, taking out a solid 2 months of my time due to having to getting parts, installing parts, etc (but I was planning on future upgrades on this gun so w/e). However, at this point, I am highly impressed with this weapon. The blowback adds a little kick, adding to the coolness factor, and sounds intimidating. The gun has a fairly high fps and range, but it may shoot too hot for some fields. The 2 round burst is great, and with the great trigger response, you can effectively shoot at near the rate of full auto, albeit with more precision.
-rated for 11.1 lipo (sort of...)
-high fps(may be a con as it may be too high)
-2 rnd burst
-lightweight for a full length rifle
-folding stock, included rds and 3.5x scope, bipod
-stock motor locked up after about 300 rnds due to it not being able to withstand any amt of sustained fire with an 11.1
-stock sights are set too low. Fully adjusting it upward did little to nothing to fix this
-rds is honestly not up to snuff: too bulky, no brightness settings, mounted too high, and scope too low
-honestly, just get a railed carry handle and use an aftermarket rds/ iron sights
In conclusion, this product is an iffy purchase. When it works, it is amazing. If it doesn't, you either have to get work done for it or you are left with a dud. That's what the warranty is for I suppose. I currently have the g36 idz rail and buttstock conversion kit, new motor, new flashhider, removed the bipod, and deans and 11.1 lipo on mine and I love it. I can't recommend it too heavily, and I advise discretion, but I still feel it is worth 4 stars on the virtue of its performance when it works. The issues drop it down from a potential five star rating.
