A&K / Matrix Full Metal M240B Airsoft AEG Sqaud Automatic Weapon w/ Box Magazine
In the late 1970's the US Army adopted a new 7.62mm medium duty machine gun into their ranks: the M240. It was first used as a coaxial machine gun in tanks but slowly made its way to other mounted uses by the late 1980's, the updated model referred to as the M240C. Due to a surplus of M240C's the Army passed some on to the USMC. When the Marines got their hands on the M240C they installed an "infantry modification kit", thus spawning the M240G, the first infantry model of the M240. Having seen the success of the M240G and its effectiveness as a ground mounted 7.62mm machine gun, the US Army decided to test and eventually adopt the M240B, the slightly updated factory production variant of the M240G, into its ranks to replace their outdated M60E4's. Throughout its years of service the M240 has proven itself, in all its variations, to be an effective, reliable medium duty combat machine gun.
The Matrix replica of the M240B does a great job at capturing the hefty, tried and true durability of the real thing. It's made from heavy-duty materials giving it a great feel, and features some really nice fit and finish. The Matrix M240B stays true to layout of the real thing with its steel folding bipod, heavy duty carrying handle, a 20mm Picatinny optics rail, and the 20mm Picatinny front end. The quick-detach outer barrel system makes it extremely easy to clean and service the inner barrel when needed, and the hopup adjustment system is very easy to use. The Matrix M240B comes supplied with a 4000rd automatic winding box magazine that plugs directly into the main power, so no need for any extra, odd-sized batteries. The battery sits inside the polymer stock, which is built like a tank and very easy to remove when a battery change is necessary. Internally the Matrix M240B features a full metal, fully reinforced lipo ready gearbox, so parts are readily available here at Evike.com.

"Very good product, I've had this weapon system for 7 months now I still have stock internals though I run a 10.8v. I've probably had over 12 hours of trigger time, My favorite weapon ever.
"Similar to another reviewer, my Golden Eagle "Matrix" m240b chewed it's gearbox apart in under 10mins of trigger time. The sector gear and spur gears had nearly completely stripped themselves. Similarly several exterior points where crooked or otherwise out of alignment. Also note this gun is not lipo ready. The gun chrono's at around 320fps with 0.25's for the short duration it was working out of the box.
I purchased a number of parts from Echo 1 USA for their m240 for repairs and in hopes of increasing the guns reliability, and quickly found out that almost NONE of Echo 1's parts are interchangeable with this Golden Eagle gun. GE uses slightly different sizes for nearly everything; so Echo 1 parts are either too short, too tight, too small, too long, etc. This includes the gearbox shell, cylinder & cylinder head, piston nozzle, hop up mount, and spring guide. I also found the echo 1 wiring harness, which has a mosfet and low resistance wiring, will NOT power the GE box magazine feeding motor.
DO NOT BUY THIS GUN unless you are very comfortable fabricating and altering parts for yourself.
"First the box my M240 came in was a Golden Eagle box. This was no suprise as Matrix simply rebrands guns and parts. Out of the box I noticed two things wrong, one being the front iron sight post was very crooked. I wasn't too concerned with this as I was also using a 4x optic with it and wouldn't be using the iron sights. The second being the rail mount was also crooked so the rail was not squared up with the reciever of the gun. Again, kind of a minor cosmetic issue but still was dissapointing for 530 bucks. Moving past the external problems I took it for some weekend rec play at my local field. Stock rate of fire was very impressive even on a 9.6v and the magazine fed nicely, all of for about 10 minutes of play before the gun simply stopped shooting. I packed the gun up and brought it home to open up the gearbox and found the results all the more frustrating. The teeth on the piston were almost comletely sheared off as well as several teeth on 2 of the gears, only after 10 MINUTES of play. Overall I was very dissapointed because I payed 530 dollars for the quality of a 100 dollar starter gun, actually I should take that back as I have a 100 starter gun that has run much longer than this one. I probably just got the runt of the bunch but I regret not forking up a few hundred more dollars for the Echo 1 M240B.
