Developed in the 1920s, the ZB vz. 26 Light Machine gun is a gas-operated, air cooled, light weight, man portable squad support weapon. Primarily used by the Czechoslovakian military, the ZB vz. 26 design also saw service with various countries across Europe and Asia and has taken part in numerous conflicts including WW2 and the Korean War; sometimes used by both sides. Most famously, the ZB vz. 26 was adopted by Britain and then updated and redesigned into what is known as the Bren Gun.
Unlike other light machine guns of its time which were often belt fed, the ZB vz. 26 is unique in that it is a top loading magazine fed weapon. The advantage of this is that the overall weight of the gun is much lighter and the weapon was less prone to malfunctions caused by dirt and debris getting into the guns action.
The Matrix ZB vz. 26 is quite an accurate recreation of the weapon featuring a quick detach outer barrel and adjustable sights with oversized adjustment dial. The Matrix ZB vz. 26 features full metal construction which includes the receiver, barrel, sights, carry handle, and bipod along with imitation wood furniture including the grip, stock, and carry handle. The gun itself is a solid performer with reinforced metal internals and an impressive rate of fire right out of the box; the extra-long barrel also gives the gun quite a bit of reach and accuracy.

"I got this in the BOA last November, and while it's been a while, it's been through enough testing to gain my approval. The proprietary gearbox is no big deal as its cnc machined aluminum. This gearbox also includes 8mm ball bearings, so it has a great fire rate out of the box with only a 7.4! The hop up is metal as well. If you ever want to upgrade the plastic nozzle to a metal one with an O ring, I have found that a fal/sig nozzle fits perfectly. A new trigger switch is just a modified version 2, and I recreated it using a hacksaw and sandpaper. After the standard lipo upgrades (steel teeth piston, MOSFET, bearing spring guide and piston head, shimming) this thing is a beast that people are afraid of.
This gun is beautiful externally as well, and comes with realistic features such as a quick detach barrel and a non-locking bipod. The body is made of aluminum, but it is very durable.
Cnc aluminum gearbox
Great fire rate
Easy to upgrade
Price tag, but I got it a lot cheaper in BOA
Overall I highly recommend this gun, but don't buy it for $300. It's a great gun, but requires too many upgrades to reach its full potential to cost more than $200, maybe $210. If you find a BOA that includes this though, don't let this gun stop you from getting the box! I was hoping for a m249, but I'm perfectly happy with this. I get a lot of compliments about my "rare" gun as well.
"What an amazing LMG
Long barrel - very accurate
Rate of fire is fantastic out of the box
Good FPS out of the box with .25g bb's
VERY satisfying noises when you change mags
Imitation wood is the best imitation wood Ive seen in a LONG time
Very solid feel, most of the gun is metal with exception to imitation wood and a couple of internal parts such as hopup.
Takes a 11.1 volt LiPO right out of the box, and has a sizable space for a battery. (I personally use the E-Flite 3200mah 11.1v 3s LiPO, which is probably the biggest battery you could fit in here that's sold right off the shelf)
Top mounted mag allows for 'on the fly reloading' and occasionally shots that would have hit your head hit the mag and save your life (if the field does not count gun hits!)
mags only hold 500rds and you have to use an hex wrench or the included tool to wind them - there is no thumb-winder.
Bipod does not lock; i guess folding is true, but its gonna flop all over the place while you're using it... personally i just took it off and play without it.
People constantly mistake it for a Bren.
I honestly like this gun. I received it in a BOA so i had no idea what i had, but it was not disappointing. Solid performance and reliability, and the mags are only $25 ea. so the low cap. isn't really an issue. battery connector is a mini-tamiya. Adjustable sight is nice, and with .25 ammo the range and accuracy is on par with some mid-range snipers. Weighs about 16lbs when fully loaded. Would definitely take a sidearm with you, because that long barrel is awkward in tight spaces. Watch out for barrel release lever, not a good thing if your barrel randomly slides off - again, not usually a problem.
