"NOTE: When buying this gun, it comes with 3 pieces of rails with the gun, along with bolts and nuts to install the rails, but it DOESN'T have an allen key to fasten it in, 1" scope ring allen keys are too big to fasten, so it needs a smaller key.
My gun came in a few days ago, and I must say that I am impressed on the overall structure of the rifle, the stamped steel receiver feels really solid, and the Magpul style MOE hand guard and rubber padded buttstock just adds to the overall comfort when using it for an extended period of time on the field. Keep in mind that wiring to the battery in the hand guard extends a majority of the length of the barrel, so when installing the battery, you might have to move the wiring around so the battery would fit snugly inside the hand guard. The battery I purchased for this gun was the Intellect 9.6V Small Type 1600mAh Airsoft Battery Pack (Butterfly Configuration) here at Evike.com. What surprised me was that the overall barrel length is shorter than a standard M4 Carbine, so it is great for CQB, I haven't chronographed the gun, but it might be a bit high for CQB fields. The MOE hand guard wobbles a tiny bit, but you won't even notice it unless you actually put some force, making it wobble. The flip up sights and removable front sights are great for attaching any kind of optics without the front sights interfering or obstructing. As for the magazine problem, my hypothesis based on a few tests with G&P mid cap, Elite Force mid cap, and the Hi-Cap mag that comes with the gun, that it is probably a spring tension problem in the magazines. The magazine that came with the gun fed pretty well, as for the other two, the G&P didn't feed as well though, it could have been my extensive use of the magazine, it was able to shoot a few rounds before it ceased firing, and Elite Force (Brand New) didn't feed. Keep in mind that I didn't break into the Elite Force mags yet so that is the likely problem. Through and through this gun is excellent for both beginners and veteran players alike, the magazine problem can be fixed with minor maintenance so don't let that problem discourage you from purchasing this rifle.
Review in a nutshell:
- Solid steel receiver build
- Comfortable Magpul MOE hand gaurd and rubber plated buttstock
- Short barrel excellent for CQB fields
- Good accuracy between 40-60 ft without hop up adjustment
- High FPS
- Minor magazine feeding problem
"I have this gun and I love it it is a awesome gun that is expecally cool because it is unique the G&g spin off of magpul is awsome and very ergonomic a bad thing about the gun is that the wiring is very weird and it makes the gun hard to take apart but it's not impossible and not even close to a deal breaker it's also got exceptional stock range a lot of people complain about picky mags the best mags I've found are of high caps (which I don't use a lot of ) I recommend sticking with the G&g high caps and mid caps which I prefer use elite force their cheap durable light and feed exceptionally well I highly recommend this gun
"The magazines I got from the holycow special did not work very well. I had to push the mag up every time I shot or the bbs will not feed. But that aside I like the gun good range and rate of fire, defiantly worth $200.
