I recently got this AUG during Christmas. This is NOT the same Discovery Line AUG that came out a few years ago. It has a sturdy V3 gearbox and a very well built stock. With a purposely underpowered spring, it makes for a great for a beginner CQB gun. The 2 stage trigger makes double taps easy, but over shooting can be an issue untill you learn the trigger (which is why this gun is made!)
If you buy this rifle you can do upgrades to it but I recommend going ahead and buying a higher grade version from ASG. The outer barrel is plastic and causes balance issues but the only difference between the Discovery and Sport line is a stronger spring and metal outer barrel and integrated battle scope.
I recommend using ASG 110rd mid caps and stay away from King Arms. Not burning a good bridge here but the King Arms magazines have a little bobble on feeding but is easily fixed by restoring spring tension in the mags. The
I also would use .20g or .23g bbs to keep your shot speed up and keep good range, it's capable of 200ft. Shots and a severe disadvantage of shot speed and accuracy. Keep your engagement within 120ft and you'll hit what your aiming for.
Don't let the price fool you, it's a good system but it's not designed for very active use. It would make a great loaner/back up gun after you used it and got used to AUGs.
"I've owned this for several months now. Feilded it every time I've went and it's performed excellent.
Long inner barrel and great hop up allow for good range and accuracy
Bullpup keeps the weight in the back
Easy to work on
V3 gearbox easy to upgrade
Front foregrip is weak. I've already broken mine off.
Outter barrel is plastic and can't remove flashhider without damaging it.
Rear sling mount popped off first game and lost retaining clip.
Overall great gun and I love it. Hindsight I would have spent the extra money and got something with the front rail as the cheapest conversion is $85 plus a foregrip.
"I bought this gun from another company, but its the same gun. I love this thing! The gun is powerful, fast, and really unique! It has a lot of odd features, that lots of other reviewers have called "cons", like the safety and the possibility that it can just push through the whole gun, or what lots of others have said they don't like, the 2-stage trigger. It is different. Most people are used to a separate switch for full or semi, but this gun makes it pretty easy to have to think less. It is a little heavy, but hey, its a lot lighter than almost any real steel firearm. This gun, along with all bullpups, just takes some getting used to, and once you've put the work into practicing and moving with it, it becomes something that can easily outperform lots of other guns out there. I would recommend this gun to anyone looking for good beginner gun with the possibility to have it upgraded.
