Submited By: Caleb A. on 04/15/2012 I received this (the whole gun) in a November 2011 BOA. So, that's... 1, 2, 3... 4 months. This thing is great for CQB. I attached a laser/light combo to the "rail" and because of the Glock design the laser is aimed upwards slightly. At about 20ft the laser is spot on the iron sights, and that just happens to be exactly where the BB goes. Being only 300-330 fps this gun doesn't have the longest range, but like I said it is great for CQB. My father is a police officer, and I have shot his G22 before. the G17 has the exact same dimensions as that (but in a different caliber). My point is, though, that I know how the real one is supposed to feel. This WE G17 feels great. It's very durable... I mean, if a polymer frame is good enough for .40 S&W i'm pretty dang sure it is good enough for airsoft. The upper slide is also very well constructed.
PROS:
Glock styling is very comfortable
Mag release is fairly tight (allows for running and jumping while it's in a drop-leg holster something my KWA 1911 can't do cause the mag falls out -_-)
Hicap 25rd mags.
Mags fairly inexpensive especially for a gas gun
Nice blowback
Very nice feel
trigger safety is win
LOOKS AWESOME.
Easy disassembly (like the real thing)
CONS:
-Integrated serial number safety is bogus. absolutely useless in a skirmish.
-Silencers don't work because it hits the frame and guide-rod (i want to see if a thread adapter will solve this problem because a regular flash hider doesn't interfere)
-Gas hog+finicky mags. Sometimes i can get through all 25rds in a mag, other times I get through about half... good thing i have 3 mags. and MAKE SURE TO BREAK THE MAG IN. when i first got the gun it got through about 10 rds in a single fill
outer barrel is scratched because of the blowback. Very minor con, and personally I think it adds character to the gun.
Overall 4/5 because of gas hoggynessism. But the realism, hi-capacity, and great fun for CQB makes this a great purchase. | |
